I really have a lot of respect for people that have good content/cooking/recipe skills, and can also do the media/technology/editing side of things too...that side is a whole art in and itself. The t-shirt lighting was my fave!

@@Itdoesnttastelikechicken I actually think UA-cam needs more videos like this. When I was starting my channel I watched just about every video on food photography out there. And it still wasn't enough! Hehe. I reckon if you do more of these it'd be good to hear about things like types of camera, types of light, colour temperatures, diffusion, camera settings, angles on how to get food lookin awesome. Just anything practical that'd help budding food bloggers get started. Just ideas. I want to do some similar stuff with my channel too. To help anyone who is where I was 3 years ago (when I literally had no idea about anything).

I've used the same camera and lens since I started pretty much. The Canon Rebel with 18-55mm lens it came with amzn.to/2P1KEZr I'm looking to upgrade soon, but that simple set up has done me wonders over the years, I even shot my entire cookbook with it. :)

Ah I totally want you to be loaded by the way because you seem the very conscious consumer type but things are not far from how I imagine they've been in Canada. I've only been to Western Canada but I've literally been talking about wanting to go to Yukon, Alberta, and that Eastern side of it for so long because I am obsessed with snow and clean mountain air
Just scary to backpacking somewhere where I'm not a citizen though but I hear it's more accepted than city vagrancy. Ah. It's scary but I been talking about it for so long. I love snow & I find snow weather on average is dryer and more pleasant than the cold rainforest weather of WA but I am well aware that the average of snow weather closer to the extreme of cold weather that could potentially kill someone if they aren't careful, but I kinda know my stuff about insulation and staying dry pretty well and the bears should all be asleep.
Question: Have you ever been shooting food on the floor with your shirtlights, and got interrupted by a phone call, only to turn and find "Chickpea" has decided to eat your photo subject?
Haha! Nope!! Chickpea is the best little behaved dog, I can leave the food there and go upstairs for 20 minutes and come back and she won't have touched a thing!

Not to "degrade" your cooking, but your toasted chickpeas are a winner at rewarding dogs for tricks! Not sure why dogs love them so much, except to chalk it up to, "If it's good enough for humans, it must be good!"

So glad you found it helpful! Lighting is key, whether you use natural or artificial is up to you, but food needs to be well lit. :)
