Another thing, you can place tiles on top of ship hulls and it counts as in the ship, so you could make a wooden pirate ship or have a golden flooring for the control room.
The series is literally great and i love the effort though . Cant wait for 500 days
Absolutely love this mod and this series! I hope you keep going with it and that it can extend and go for a little longer than normal now that you are on the ship in space. It’s a nice new interesting aspect of rimworld you don’t get to see very often.
Seeing the ship evolve from bullet to bird to giant isopod to space monster with a big butt was magical.
When you send colonists to board enemy ships you can right click on the doors to breach them(construction skill) or hack them(intelligence skill). Then once you reach the enemy ship bridge you can right click the pilot console and hack it which will take over the ship as your own allowing complete control of it.
Love this series. SOS2 is the best rimworld mod in my opinion and i am glad to see it still updated. Gonna start a new play-through with it myself soon. Thanks for the mod list, VQ!
You should move your ship console to the middle of the ship, so it’s harder to get hit

SOS2 has always eluded a proper play through from me, I get super far and build a good ship and then never do much with it, would love to see a full play through with this mod

I cant wait for someone or even myself to design the ships based on ftl. This could be the ftl 2 we never had

notoriety is a number that acts as a multiplier to ship encounters,while playing and you detect a ship, if that ship DOESNT have a red skull in its "attack ship" button you will increase the number due to it being an act of piracy, thus making your game harder. Next is the bar on top of your screen is the range between the ships, hover over it to see what the markers mean, AAND the different guns have different uses, railguns are snipers, long range that loses accuracy close in, plasma weapons are for shields, shoot a shield with enough of them and it just gives up, (none of this is really explained unless you DIG for it)and be careful when sending pods over to the enemy, if they have small lasers or cannons they will shoot down the pod (and missiles), instantly losing any crew aboard (unless they are on cooldown). this is for the people who dont know, ive been playing SOS2 since 1.3

Ah yes, the famous german shuriken hydroponics design.
plasma canons are op keep that in mind
this mod looks so fun. you don't have to worry about wealth and you get to play around in space. wealth management is a pain for me on high difficulties.
The storyteller is a pain if you want to "rush" space. You need to manage tech level instead of wealth or you'll get sieges of 30 raiders at 5 colonists before you launch the first ship. And that's on 100%, not 500%.
I'd recommend downloading rim industrial the one that lets you make storage crates with huge storage as otherwise you're entire ship will be storage

The one weakness to advanced energy shields and spacecraft hulls: transport pods of toxic waste. 🤣
It's almost certainly a bug, transport pods can't normally be launched to space. Also, toxic waste can't spread on vacuum tiles, so toxifier generators are very good there - they don't stop working if their pollution is "cancelled" by vacuum.
@@vidyagaems4063 This got me a bit confused, how did his colonists almost die when the roof was destroyed? Didnt they have eva? Which i assume is some equipment to breathe in space like a helmet
@@koresaliva No EVA. EVA looks like a golden "bulb" helmet. High level armors also count as EVA, but not everyone in there has it.

You don't need to make the ship look ship-like at all. It will still work if it's literally held together by power wires.
You could've gotten a different ending if you kept the base, it's a lot harder but it's real cool and you unlock the most powerful tech while working towards it

I'm sorry to say that but you will need a base on the planet to end the game. You will need a base to get a psychic sooth or smtg like that to scan the ship that does it, destroy it and get the item to finish the game
