SOS mod is the hardest Playthrough to got it's ending. In my experience.
The best ways to finish it is make your colony first and then make your own ship.
Having many colony and pawn is making this Playthrough is easier
True, best is to have remote colony in hot desert or cold north (ice sheet) and have your best builders build it there while sending resources, thus storyteller will send weaker enemies while your main colony can remotely be travelling or attract raids.

This video perfectly encapsulated how tragically difficult SoS2 can be when you're unprepared.
However, I think it would help if you read the prompts fully before closing them. The trade ship is contactable *at the bridge,* not the sensors. The dialogue just says "Using your ship's sensors, yadda yadda" as flavour text to describe how the trade ship was discovered. That is not instruction to the player.
The enemy ship you detected is visible on the world map as the only red icon in space. It was even selected while you were saying you couldn't see it. It's also interactable at the bridge, like everything else. You don't need sensors for anything other than seeing enemy ships during battle and observing other maps from afar.
You can get rid of the other ship using the bridge.
im pretty sure that you can hack ships via their bridge so your could of lived in the mini ship you took over
This was pretty brutal to watch!
Hints for next time:
#1 -- Use that purge port! It dumps all the heat in the network.
#2 -- Advance and Retreat between salvos. And use Maintain Distance outside of their range.
#3 -- When you can EVA attack the other ship, leave it intact. Don't destroy it! Hack the bridge and it becomes yours! Now you have two ships!
#4 -- Use scenario editor to begin with ship basics.
#5 -- Always go with at least 3 colonists.

this was so painful to watch. you need to use the purge port to get rid of the heat and you hack the bridges to conquer enemy ships..

im pretty sure astronauts are strapped into their bed, almost like a sarcophagus or cocoon, it keeps them comfortable while not allowing them to drift away

I love how Veequeue accepts new colonists but then doesn't increase food production to feed them and then just dumps the guy out into space to die
Near the end I was getting mad that you weren’t hacking the ship that you disabled and you never hacked it, you have to right click on the bridge to hack it, alternatively you coulda destroyed the bridge as sos2 checks if there is a bridge on the ship before declaring the ship to be a derelict, hacking is better tho as you can capture it and either use it or dismantle it for its parts

I did that once. Summary version of my playthrough: wall creep & free raid defense.
The early game is awful, but late game once you have your compound built it becomes a cake walk

I looked on some scenarios in the workshop and they were only working for the old version.

Yeah, it's not a word, it's an abbreviation, meaning each letter is pronounced individually.
