Really blew me away right out of the gate Diggin' these guitars so much with every one I play! They play wonderfully right out of the box, they look WAY awesome, and they all just flat out rule the school. Wired for sound with www.bulletcable... slug and coily cables, using an www.drzamps.com M12 Dr Z combo, and www.royerlabs.com Royer R-121 Ribbon Mic, and a www.souldier.us SOULDIER STRAP! SOULDIER STRAPS RULE THE SHIRE!!!!!!
from Reverend: Clean and warm with a thick twang. This guitar combines the distinctive upper-mid growl of the Rockabilly era with the sustain and attack of a solidbody. The bridge pickup is slightly hotter then the neck pickup for balanced tone. And we wound RevTrons about 5% hotter overall than the originals, so it's also a great blues and rock guitar.
Reverend guitars are FANTASTIC in every way! EVERY little detail on these axes is something special. Once you play one, you can't help wonder why other manufacturers don't pay attention to such details. And the pricing is BEYOND competitive!
I have 2 Reverends, 2 Gibson Custom Shop guitars, and 2 Fender Custom Shop guitars. And I can honestly say that the Reverends get the most attention. They're just SO damn playable, toneful, and, again, loaded with GREAT features! :-)
It’s funny to notice only now, after many years since this video came out, that I own this actual guitar (number 15of24 in silver sparkle) I acquired it more than 3 years ago, and as Gearmandude says it’s a beautiful guitar.
Of course I made some modifications (I switched to some better quality pots, caps, Schaller Strap Locks, Callaham Front Roller and String Shaft), and repairs (the previous owner cutted the nut far too low so I replaced it with a proper white Tusq nut, which also looks much better IMHO, and output jack that I broke at some point).
Anyway, I’m writing all of this just to say that even if I don’t gig this guitar very often, I will keep it for sure and just like my other Reverend (a Jetstream 390) it’s a superb instrument for the price, solid, versatile, unusually good looking and great sounding, maybe not as playable as a Super Custom Shop “choose a name” but those are from 5 to 10 times more expensive so not comparable at all.
Also Ken and all the guys at Reverend are the real cherry on top of the pie, the special ingredient that all the Super Custom Shop “you named above” are missing, not many companies today can boast such a level of customer support.

My next axe is going to be Reverend Flatroc. The Rev-Tron [and Filter Tron type] p'ups give that sizzle and growl you can't get from a standard humbucker. Gotta have it.

That contour knob would be better for me than a (phase) switch. For some reason I find it much easier to roll a knob while playing than flipping a switch :P I have two Guilds with phase switches and my hand just doesn't find the switch yet.
