My Walmart just started to change their policy, you either pay the membership or they limit you to 15 items AND THE BEST PART IS THAT THEY DONT HAVE ENOUGH HUMAN CASHIERS!!!!
They want people to pay to do WALMARTS job for them. We're already doing their damn job by checking ourselves out, if anything we should get a discount for using self checkout
They are planning to in about 12 months to implement this. Walmart is also changing some of the regular manned checkout to Credit or Debit Card only (no cash). Keeps cashier's from making change errors or steal cash. They eventually, plan to charge a 1.5% processing fee if you pay with a credit or debit card (remember using cash is free) So eventually they will keep raising the processing fee to 2%, then 2.5% and so on.
There are no fees now, but just wait, they were all about saving trees a while ago so you couldn’t use paper bags but now they will damn sure sell you one.
I guess you guys are too 'elite' to actually enter a Walmart. Had you done so, you would have found out that while they technically don’t charge a fee, they do have self-checkouts that are for paying members only, thus why some call it a fee.
Some stores even have higher prices depending on the area and they don't price match with their own website. So you have to order it for pickup to get it at the lower price.
My Walmart got rid of all the self checkouts within the past week, like physically removed them. The only self checkouts that are left are 2 scan and go (membership only) and 2 for spark drivers
Full of shit. Local Walmart in Indiana has shut down, what a few weeks ago, were lanes that were available to everyone. Now there is a white tape that reads it for Walmart + users only.
This is completely false. They’re not that stupid. This fee thing is for a what they call Walmart plus self check out which is a special self check out area for Walmart plus members to make things quicker, but is not going to be mandatory to use self check out.
I feel as I should add that Walmart has had this Walmart plus self check out for about a year now and that they are simply rewriting the membership and the fine print that goes along with it.
Well I won’t shop there anymore 😂 garbage food anyways… I’ll go to Aldi and Amish grocery stores all day they have hard working Amish employees and full checkout service
This is conflicting news. My local Walmart has removed and replaced cashier-assisted lanes to make room for predominantly self-checkout and has reduced the length of the checkout counter, making it challenging to shop in bulk. It seems to me that consumers are being relegated to the self-checkout. What surprises me the most is more cashiers are monitoring the already video-captured lanes than their are at the cash wrap.
Unless I get an employee discount, I'm not using the self checkout lanes! Plus I've also heard there has been a great deal of accusations about shoplifting for those using self-checkout!! Retailers are driving their customers away from them!
🙄PLOT TWIST🤔 I feel like they are setting up for their customers to have to pay for a cashier. 👇🏾 I wouldnt put it past them to even have people tip for a speedy checkout from actual humans. 🤯
Walmart near me had 12-18 unused self check out lanes for this service and the 6 lanes open had long lines. Left my cart filled with groceries at the long line and walked away!
You don't have to pay to use them. WHT they've done is, If you pay for a Walmart membership you can scan your items with your phone as you shop and then simply go to the self checkout to pay. Thereby making it faster for members. But non members can still use the self checkout. BTW, I am in no way an advocate for Walmart, in fact I would prefer to shop anywhere but there when possible. But, I also prefeethe truth over non truths...
I've been using self checkout for years, whether it's Wal-Mart, Target, BJ's, etc. I've never had an issue. I don't even put the stuff on the belt, I use the gun. In and out. I also DO NOT have to pay an additional fee to use them at my 2 local Wal-Marts. Fairhaven & Dartmouth, MA.
Let me tell you something Walmart, if you only have self check outs when i walk in then I will purposely fill up my cart with all kinds of different items AND THEN LEAVE IT IN THE STORE FOR YOU TO PUT AWAY WHILE I WALK OUT. Maybe that'll learn ya Hire cashiers or you can simply go to hell. Its your choice.
BUYER BEWARE, IF YOU USE the self checkout at Walmart and pay with a card, SURPRISE! You'll be automatically signed up for a Walmart Plus Membership!! And they'll begin draining $13.91 from your bank account monthly!! 🤬😡🤬😡 TO AVOID THIS CHARGE, ALWAYS GET A WALMART ASSOCIATE TO SCAN YOUR ITEMS, OR PAY CASH AT THE SCAN & GO.
My store has the self checkouts with the plus memberships implemented. No change has come from it, customers are not charged extra & this is just another method for psychotic customers to complain about Walmart not letting them do whatever they want. Self checkouts aren't taking jobs away like they so desperately claim, if anything. It frees up more associates so they can help out around the store with high demanding customers who literally complain cry & moan about every little thing. Customers who don't even bother to look, instead immediately stop associate doing a task so they can spend 5+ mins helping them with meaningless task they could have easily done themselves instead of getting their work done. The associates have a enough on their plates dealing with one of the worst companies in history. Why make it more difficult for them cause you want to be a lazy entitled prick that thinks the world revolves around them? I'll be the one who says it. Walmart doesn't pay the associates up front enough to be dealing with you guys on a constant basis as is. Why should they have to do extra? Would you guys want to deal with you at Walmart? Hell no.
It's not a time saver do you know how much people steel but I guess they don't care the only after they see their numbers low they start to cut the employees
This is what happens when people don't read the fine print. They are not charging people for self checkout. 😂 Walmart + is what's charging that and it includes more than just quicker checkouts 😂
@@lostconciousness4255 lmao. It's called, calling out the idiots complaining about it and not the news casters explaining it. I guess you couldn't understand the difference bud
I love my Walmart membership I've been to Walmart Plus members dincry 2017 and of course it's changed throughout the years but for me and positive ways I don't know the last time I went in an actual Walmart store and don't plan on it 🤦🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️🤭
They are literally charging You in the membership🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️ and You can't use the self checkout without the membership 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️ fake news thumbs down
wild that this is presented like news when it’s 100% fake, and the photos are AI generated. I hate Walmart as much as the next guy but this isn’t true lol
It wouldn't be in the stores' best interests to start charging at self-checkout because they would lose business. People want to use that because it's quicker and less personal. I don't want to sit and chit chat. I just want to get my stuff and get home. And, if you're paying attention, you'll notice that a lot of the Walmarts now are all self-checkout.
nope, my store does this and you gotta pay the membership
This news is spitting bullshit
My Walmart just started to change their policy, you either pay the membership or they limit you to 15 items AND THE BEST PART IS THAT THEY DONT HAVE ENOUGH HUMAN CASHIERS!!!!
They were paid by Walmart and target to say this
Self check out is not a service. They are cutting the cost of their employees tremendously and providing self check out lanes. This is horseshit.
They want people to pay to do WALMARTS job for them. We're already doing their damn job by checking ourselves out, if anything we should get a discount for using self checkout
I bet Walmart and/or Target is a sponsor of this show

Let's be honest. Nobody needs cashiers anymore. Let's just have nothing but machines
Yeah!
Time to go to a real grocery store
Fake news, they are indeed charging.
Yeah, I have to order everything online. There's no way I need to shop at a store that charges a bunch of fees.
Yeah, self-check out is a joke.
Some stores even have higher prices depending on the area and they don't price match with their own website. So you have to order it for pickup to get it at the lower price.

It’s still a fee to use something that was free

Of course the media wouldnt actually research their stories.
The Walmart in my area doesn't even remove the items from the boxes before putting them on the shelves. FWM!

So I not only have to work without pay, but I PAY to work for them as a customer? What the hell is wrong with these companies?

Use self checkout, get 50% of your items free. I only work if i get paid.
Goodbye Walmart and good and riddance
Lol goodbye Walmart? You must not know the power Walmart has
And good and riddance
So what they’re saying is they are no fees, but they are limitations🤬

Its built into the cost.

It has been a month. Now they really are charging. Find out for yourself.
@@typhoonsd9720 where? The only thing I've ever seen online or in person is limiting it to 10 items
