Walmart is limiting access to self checkout in many stores and forcing most customers to go through cashiered lanes due to problems with shoplifting via self checkout.
About time they brought back customer service and stopped having a team of shrill harpies monitoring the customers and treating everyone like potential criminals. I don't submit my papers at the exit either. As a matter of fact, I avoid that place as much as I can.
@@ericculver9700 Everything you buy is distributed by 11 corporations no matter where you shop. If you don't eat from your own garden and raise your own livestock, get off your high horse. Not like I shop there frequently but trying to avoid WalMart is like trying to avoid eating since there's always a few things you can't get elsewhere, cost a lot more elsewhere, or you have to wait to have delivered.
I NEVER use "Self Checkout" I've read too many stories around the states and here locally of machines glitching out and tho properly scanning said item but having the weight sensors not work for that one item and showing its incorrect weight etc. All is good until AFTER payout and the person is about to leave when Loss Prevention stops and asks to see the receipt. Even when THAT shows to be ok, for whatever reason, they still think you stole something due to the machine being flagged. Here in NYC, people have been arrested and charged anyway even when it was shown that the receipt was on the up and up and the cameras above the self check out shows that it was scanned and the person didn't do anything wrong, it was the machine. Yes, the charges ended up later being dropped when in front of a judge but the person still had to go to lockup for a few hours unless they weren't granted a D.A.T (Desk Appearance Ticket) had to stay in jail until court. Yes, Self checkout has way more thefts but to put complete trust in software even when the evidence shows otherwise is crazy.
@@SeanMc-316 Right? I don't have a problem with membership fees. Costco does that, in fact some Costcos have started scanning membership card at the entrance. It's just that it feels snake-ish herding people around in this manner. Oh well.
Please don’t believe everything you hear. Walmart is charging to use it app to scan your groceries in its stores to scan items like you do at Sam’s club.
I guess you guys are too 'elite' to actually enter a Walmart. Had you done so, you would have found out that while they technically don’t charge a fee, they do have self-checkouts that are for paying members only, thus why some call it a fee.
Damn so having to download an app that cost a monthly fee or you can’t use self check out isn’t paying to use self check out ? I don’t need google because I go outside

Something reeks here. I was turned away from the Walmart self check out earlier today - not having a subscription. Had to go through cashiered.
The free app?
