@@agrifforama yeah, they looked easy but today I did my first practice and they were far more complicated and demanding than what I expected so I will need to overcome my frustration and ego to the next session haha.
I thought I'd give it a shot tomorrow, too wasted after my ring workout today. I got as far as the dips (negative) on your beginner routine and my arms died. Sometimes I think that 52 is a little old for this malarkey, but then again.... ;-)
I had an idea.... I enjoyed the background music during the demos. How about a practiced set of Ido Portal movements flowing into a rings routine, all set to music. A beautiful, seemless transition from Near Floor, to Upper Body workout.... Like a set dance piece!
Hi Manuel, Thanks so much for the kind feedback! I have been using a Canon M50 mirrorless camera for my videos. It's a great compact camera with loads of features and really great for vlogging and filming movement. Here's a link to it in Amazon: amzn.to/35QY0Wp
Man! You inspire me a lot! Thanks for sharing all these videos and process with us. 😊 It would be nice if you could make a video about how you put bjj and all of this training together, if you get any improvement in your bjj game, etc. Pd: I am Spanish, my English is not perfect 😅
Thank you! Thanks for the idea, the movement work has defintely given me some big advantages at bjj. My awareness in space, limb articulation, mobility, strength and general durability has helped me at bjj loads. Ill put something together soon on this topic!
@@agrifforama great!! I think this kind of training is the most interesting in many martial arts instead of lifting really heavy weights. I train bjj, mma, and Ninjutsu (bujinkan) and we have a really important word in japanese: Taijutsu which means: the art of the body, and what ýou show us is what Taijutsu exactly is 🥋😊
@@joseluisrodriguezdegasparf507 gracias amigo! I agree, having a strong, mobile, functional body that can also be tested in the fighting arts is a worthwhile pursuit! PS. Your English is terrific!
Hey bro just discovered your channel and have been getting into natural movement myself! Have just started viewing your videos and like what you have. Also been getting into natural parkour which is great fun and involves a lot of locomotion in various natural environments. I am also in Australia, Perth WA. Getting out into the Bush and doing this sort of thing is a lot of fun. Where in Australia are you from? Oh and bumping into snakes and other reptiles while training adds to the fun!
Sounds like an awesome approach you have over there my friend. I would love to see the West Coast one day! I'm on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. Thanks for the message and happy moving!
Aaron Griffiths such a cool way to train originally got inspired to give it a go after following Evolve move play, Mov Nat and Idol Portal along with others. If you haven’t already you should check them out you will get a wealth of training ideas from them oh and movement parallels life is another good one💪👊. Just got yourself another subscriber!
@@gaetanoiuculano7895 thank you. Yes they have been big inspirations for me as has my teacher Jackson Lennan from Movement4 in Brisbane. Would love to explore the natural parkour side of things more! Take care!
I will be doing more videos explaining individual skills in greater detail. I have a few on my channel already, for example the l-sit rotational here: ua-cam.com/video/yeAw8oMTv0I/v-deo.html
Frankly I don't know why anyone lives in Australia[of course its necessity]. If I had my way we'd cart y'all off some other place and see what 'nature' does with her outside human intervention. The moves were rad too!
Well, the English brought my ancestors here in boats as convicts. But the joke was on them it seems, the place turned out to have some pretty nice beaches. Thanks for checking out the video!
At the risk of sounding like a moron, but what's the difference between Skill 1: L-Sit Rotational and Skill 5 with the same name? Couldn't discern any meaningful differences. Great video regardless!
This was an editing error on my part I'm afraid! But I was happy that the video was engaging enough for people to watch that far in! Thank you for the kind feedback my friend. I hope you took something away from it.
You are correct my friend. I wish i could say it was a clever test to see if people watched closely but unfortunately it was an editing error on my part! I will share more in the near future! Thanks for watching!
May I ask, Do you use weights in the Ido portal method? And if so, How do you combine them in your rutine? Thanks for sharing :) In addition, you mentioned that Locomotion goes heavy on your legs, does it mean that it replaced your Leg day sessions (If you split your rutine Push/Pull/Legs, something like that)?
Weights are used at times depending on the focus of each phase of practice which typically runs in 8 week blocks. Locomotion can be used to condition the legs, however I still also prepare them with specific bodyweight exercises (and some with weights) for different reasons. Accross each week i will cover push pull and legs using handstands, rings, locomotion and some other bodyweight or weighted exercises.
Finding a coach who has studied the ido portal method in person would be ideal! I myself am not yet offering online training (I will in the future at some point) but you could check out my coach Jackson Lennan from Movement4 in Brisbane who offers online study. Otherwise Ido Portal has online study too. Thanks for watching!
I'll typically drill 4 different skills on their own, then work into combinations of those skills, then finish with some 90 second free flowing sets to just move and try to mix up as many combinations as i can.
I hope to be in a position to offer online training in the near future. So stay tuned! I see value in Animal Flow, however the depth of complexity in the type of locomotion popularised by Ido Portal interests me more, particularly the hand balancing and soft acrobatic components.
@@ThePortlandsocrates yes. I would love to say that was a little test to check if anyone was actually watching ha ha...but it was an editing slip by yours truly! Still glad to know someone watched the whole thing! Thank you my friend!
