Percy Jackson series is my ultimate series. Please do spoiler review 🙏
I’ll start pulling some notes together to make one!
please say complete spoilers
I love Percy, I think he's perfect BECAUSE of his imperfections. I also really like Grover because of his compromise with nature. And obviously, Annabeth it's a character I look up to a lot because of her way of solving problems.
This still one of my favorite Series ever. I need to do a reread soon and catch up on the Apollo books. My favorite characters are Annabeth, Percy and Dionysus :)
Dionysus is definitely one I grew to love as the series was going along!
@@ConnorOBrien I could be a bit biased with him as well. He's been Favorite Greek God since I was like 11 when my grandfather was reading me greek mythology stories. I was always fascinated with him. I never truly knew why. Haha
I love watching your videos and reviews. I am currently reading the percy jackson series, so this video is what I really need now
Thank you!
Nice on reading Percy Jackson! I hope you’re enjoying them
my favorite book in the series is a tie between the battle of the labyrinth and the last olympian. my favorite character is nico by a long shot. i just love his personality and development
Great review!
"But I don't mind because it's Percy and Annabeth" could be my mantra. Lol. Yes, would love spoilery thoughts video. All the PJO/HoO content please.
I’ll see what I can do. My phone broke, so I lost a lot of the notes I had taken on it. But hopefully I can gather enough to make a good video full of spoilers
I like how Sally ended up doing what she did, instead of having Percy have to do it. It emphasises how she's not powerless or defenseless just because she's not a half-blood.
I didn't think it fit with her characterization, especially because Sally is an intelligent, deliberate person. Percy would never have had to do it. There are other ways to accomplish what happens (I'm trying not to spoil for anyone that hasn't read it yet). She didn't need to do what she did to prove that she's powerful. The series is filled with female characters being strong without doing what Sally does.
FUN-tastic series review, Connor! PJTO is hilarious and amazing all at the same time though the bits and pieces remind me of Harry Potter. The Percy-Grover-Annabeth friendship is closely similar if not entirely the same as Harry-Ron-Hermione. Just different names. Somehow, I learn to love the sequel more. Heroes of Olympus has completely detached itself from Potterworld. The pentalogy creates an identity in its own, can you make a review like this with HoO?
Those hard cover originals I love. I tired to by them but they are like used and 150 dollars for a SOFT COVER. SO i bought the newer ones for like 20. Those OG hardcovers are insane
I didn’t realize they were out of print until after this video! The new covers are stunning as well though.
Great job done on this video!
Thank you!
This was great! I recently read, or rather listened to the Magnus Chase books, and was uncertain wether I should start on this. Now I know, and I wont be doing the audio book for this!
I hope you like them when you give them a go! Yeah, try the physical books instead of the audio. I think it's better that way if you're able to
I got up to House of Hades and then stopped but you're making me want to pick it up again. I was listening to the audiobooks which are awful but free through the library lol
Lol that's why I listened to the audiobooks this time around. I didn't have my physical copies at the time, but I really wanted to experience the story again.
Also I read al the pj books there amazing Iam reading Kane chronicles now
Please do a discussion video
I've always been so on the fence with the Percy Jackson series. I'm interested in getting into it, but I've also heard mixed reviews about it. A lot of people love Percy and his sass, but others have some issues with the writing style because it reads a little young. Which makes sense, considering its target market, but as an Adult™ I'm unsure if that might affect my enjoyment of the series. I love middle grade though, so... maybe the writing style won't be an issue for me?
Hmm, they are geared toward a middle grade audience, but if you generally like middle grade, I would definitely encourage you to at least give the first book a shot! You could even just look at the preview on goodreads or amazon to see if the writing style would work for you! I'm one of those people who love Percy and his sass, but I did originally read these when I was much younger.
Connor O'Brien ok cool, thanks for the feedback connor :)
How do you have those covers though like where did you get them from!?
I love those covers soooo so much but I literally can't find them anywhere!!
I can only find the ones with the newer covers 😩💔
I bought them a long time ago! Mine are from when the books were still published under Miramax and not Disney, but I’m sure you could find them in used book shops or maybe used online.
Can you please tell me where can I buy these *hardcover books* online? I've looked everywhere but I can't find a hardcover box set
They’re really difficult to find now. I think you’d have to find them second hand on websites like eBay, Abe Books, or Thriftbooks.
Hey man, this series was actually my gateway to fantasy. I’m considering giving them a reread, but what’s your opinion on the sequel and spin off series? Worth checking out?
Yeah, I'd say there is a bit of a shift because the Heroes of Olympus series is third person and follows more characters, but I remember enjoying them all when I read them. I think House of Hades was my favorite of the spin off series if I'm remembering correctly
Where do u get the original cover?
Lima Neewa I got the books as they came out, so I’m not sure. You could probably find them on eBay or Abe books
Nice review. I also did review on Percy Jackson and the Battle of the Labyrinth

*spoiler*
The last book lack of build-up and rush the ending. Luke's last word was "Do u love me?" He was a bad-ass up to this point.
Sana ol naay book 😢
Imo the reason why people don’t like The Sea of Monsters is probably because they connect this book with the Sea of Monsters movie which was just so bad. At least that’s why I don’t or didn’t like Sea of Monsters. Also I totally agree with you with the ending of The Lightening Thief.
That's possible! I think The Sea of Monsters is also a bit different than the rest of the books in the series because Percy is not the chosen one for this book. He's obviously a big part, but it's more about Percy being a supporting frenemy, you know?
My top 3 favourite books are 3,4 and 5 and my least favourite books are 1 and 2. My favourite character in this series has to be Nico.
Nico is great! He grows a lot during this series and in the Heroes of Olympus series.
You have to read Trials of Apollo as it’s super funny! I love Apollo’s humour and sarcasm. Also there is more Nico in the first book and at least for me I can see how much Nico has grown and is continuing to grow. Plus we get to see Nico and Will.
Where did you find the original hardcovers? Please I need to know
I got them over a decade ago, so I’m not sure where you would find them now. Maybe eBay or a used book store or a website like thrift books or Abe books.
Connor O'Brien Thank you!
