- Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions was released last week for the Niintendo 3DS and they changed more than just graphics. They changed quite a few things.. Though, every Mario & Luigi Game (Superstar Saga, Partners In Time, Bowser's Inside Story, Dream Team, Paper Jam & Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions) had different Victory Animations as well as Level Up Screens. In This video we take a look at the Evolution of Mario & Luigi Series Victory/Winnng and Level Up Screens.

For those who don’t know there are actually two other victory screens for the original M and L Superstar Saga. When defeating an enemy with a hammer they actually pose with said hammers. When using their element powers, they finish with their hands posed to the screen
In the remakes there are also that screen victories depending if you finished with jump, hammer or hand
Yeah but sometimes for me, when the enemy is attacking and they die to my hammer attack, they do their jump animation when they won.
@@RareCypherKnuckles Late reply, but in Superstar Saga the victory animation depends on which of the bros' arsenal got the most KOs that battle
I love how luigi is at relief when finishing a battle in PiT. Really captures his personality.

1:20 this is a real character design masterclass to me right here. From the way the bros carry themselves in battle (Mario in combat position and Luigi looking aloof balancing from one feet to another) to their level up animation, just compare how much you can tell from the previous animation and these ones. The two first games give off nothing besides Luigi being just a slighty stretched out version of Mario's design (just that Luigi seems more enthusiastic/sensitive in Partners in time), where Bowser's Inside story gives of that power dynamic of the classic and competent hero on one side to the more expressive, goofier and clumsy air-head. Character design is not only based on the visual elements but the cheer corporality of a character. Brilliant.
I love how Luigi's hat drops to the floor in Bowser's Inside Story.

The level up poses and dances for the original bowsers inside story is still fantastic, and I love how the 3ds version of superstar saga didn’t change the level up poses and dances in the game.
But I'm really upset they didn't do the same for inside story's remake

Bowser’s inside story will always have a special place in my heart. It was the first mario & luigi game I ever got and I just finished the 3ds remake earlier today actually.
BIS is my favorite title out of the five 😋

I’m a little disappointed they didn’t include the rank up animations. Luigi’s rank up animation in BiS is great. Also, if both Luigi and Bowser level up in the same battle, Luigi picks his hat up before jumping away, which I always thought was great attention to detail.

One thing I noticed is that when you're selecting an additional stat to boost, Superstar Saga's roulette actually takes a little bit of time to stop spinning. In the other games, it stopped instantaneously.
Also odd how Paper Jam doesn't have stat boosting like the other games did...
Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time has got to be my favorite in the series. It was the first one I beat as well.

You do know there are different victory animations in superstar saga if you deliver the final blow with a hammer or your hand skill

The hand skills and elemental powers are the same thing

All we need is for partners in time to be remade and all the games will have the dream team designs, which, can't say I love it, but nostalgic still

Partners in time was the first I played, and even though that was a lot of fun, I think Bowser's inside story is my favourite only because controlling bowser is so much fun

Despite what everyone thinks. Paper jam and dream team are by far my favourite games of the series. I spent most my time with bowsers inside story and dont get me wrong its a phenomenal game with amazing plot and story. But something about paper jams quirkiness and dream teams style of visualisation is what really captivated me. This series as a whole has a special place in my heart and i hope one day. Just maybe. We get the partners in time remake or next game on the next big handheld if nintendo decide to approach it that way

Superstar saga cause you gotta love the dancing animation
Some funny story… I booted up my copy of Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time on my 3DS for the first time, and I saw in Save File 2 that Mario was two levels behind the rest of the Bros. He was on Level 7 while the others were on Level 9, it was probably because my sister kept on mistiming enemy’s attacks on Mario mostly which is probably the reason.
I remember that in Superstar saga they have a different Victory Pose depending on the weapon they used, Jump, Hand or the Hammer
My fav? that'd have to go to bowser's inside story. the soundtrack was awsome, gameplay was cool,the fact that bowser is a playable character blew my mind, he's my fav character (although I act more like luigi)

My favorite is BiS because it has a great story, great gameplay and was the first one I played. For second its a tie between PiT and Dream Team and 3rd place is paper jam. I haven't played Superstar saga yet but I have just started playing and so far liking it :D
