This very boss fight in the GBA is what placed the final nail on the coffin to make me decide on finally playing this game. I have no regrets. It quickly became one of my favorite games ever since 2010. I'm replaying it yet again and I'm about to finish it tomorrow again. 😂 And of course, having played this 3DS remake and the original one, I can safely say that both versions are equally amazing.
the Cackletta Soul fight genuinely had me struggling for hours, I think it took me two days to actually defeat her. it was quite a struggle...and I cherished every minute of it
Thomas Turner You think that’s bad? When I got to Bowser’s Castle, I had to switch to Easy Mode! And the final boss was STILL brutal! I played the original too, but I swear they gave the bosses high ass HP in the 3DS games
The Koopalings (especially the last few) gave me the most trouble. Bowletta and Cackletta's Soul weren't even that hard; they just took a while. I was lvl. 39 and focused too much on survival. I once did a Power Only playthrough which was easier, but the enemies hit way harder.
I'm playing right now and decided to stop the final boss fight after 3 cycles of hearts passed and I STILL didn't get her to half HP. To be fair, I skipped almost every foe, most bosses were durable AF and I had level 31 when going into the boss fight. Did 100 on excellent Bros. attacks.
They made this boss fight easier in the remake. At the start of cackaletta In the original you had to perfectly survive a barrage of attacks first before you could heal, and cackaletta would gain attacks and evolve to have longer or more devastating versions of attacks. It was a very difficult boss to say the least
that's not true, if you don't have any of the bro's speed stat at 120 or higher Cackletta will always attack first same goes for the remake and they made this remake slightly more difficult seeing how it the game was easy on the gba version
Spooky Boi649 true, but any person playing through this game for the first time would never have 120 speed, plus there’s no way they could have learned the advanced bros attacks without searching it up, I didn’t know how to do advanced attacks till my second playthrough and I had to look it up and practice the entire game just to hit them consistently. With the new version, I didn’t see cackalettas attacks get any harder than when they are first used, which doesn’t happen in the GBA version.
Yesterday, i beat Cackletta with this set of rules: I was at Level 40, the same as her's. I couldn't use items. I couldn't reuse Bros. Attacks. I couldn't use coffee or peppers. I could only increase BP in the stat roulette. I couldn't use Great Force. Oh, and i didn't have shields...
