When it rains, it pours, and sometimes fish show themselves in really weird places! Urban fishing in the city of Houston really does demonstrate that animals will make a home for themselves in all kinds of bizarre places if they need to.

This is why I subscribed this channel. You stuff is diffrent from most others and resembles what I would do.
@@unni.m1959 I like to highlight how wildlife acts within urban environments, so this has been on my list of possible videos for a while.
Honesly one of my favorite videos recently, good job Payton! From Pearland TX
@byinyang7060 much appreciated! I've been wanting to do this one for a while.
This is my favorite fishing video on earth
Another great video. Nice improvising with that net. I gotta look up the roller coaster video. I haven't seen that one yet. I've seen the basement, abandoned water park, and sewer. All worth watching. Hands down the best fishing channel.
@@twotoned2774 much appreciated! The roller coaster one is actually my favorite video I've ever made. I had the best time making that one.
@@wildlifefishingshow just watched the roller coaster video. Keep it up. 👍👍👍👍
You've been to this location so many times what made you think to look in the drains? Awesome catch and I love videos like this that not many people can execute as well as you! Great video and looking forward to the next.
@@Flahmas I actually spent months locating various drains near canals and lakes around Houston and driving to them to see if I could see/hear running water in them. The fact that the drain ended up being in a familiar spot was actually 100% coincidence.

The only time I can catch bullhead is after a good rain and the creeks get a little high with good current. Although I've never seen one caught from a drain. Very cool.
@fishing_fam84 I was so ecstatic when it took, I was worried this video would never work.
@@wildlifefishingshow that's awesome man. I'm definitely going to have to try some drainage fishing in the future.

@@kierra_mist yeah but it was my fault it needed saving in the first place so it all kinda evens out, lol

@@MrBerndvonfunk it's gonna be whatever the algorithm likes most, lol. It might be a storm drain in a few hours.
@@wildlifefishingshowlove that. Currently showing up as storm drain for me. That’s interesting piece of info though, never knew there was a difference between the two.
@lilwruwru sewer drain is in the middle of the asphalt and the storm drain is at the edge of the sidewalk.
At the intro I thought you were reeling penny wise but it was a catfish/channel cat

The people that spray my house for ants call the sewers "rat super highways". Makes me wonder if gators, crocks, or bigger fish will go up the sewers after the rats....
Turtles use them alot were I live. I see a lot of turtle going in an out. I am in North Florida, probably a lot of snakes too I would imagine.

You have to do sommething about those bowfisherman who are shooting all those big gar !!!!!! My heart broke when I saw a vid of a boat full of Huge dead alligator gars !!! please react
@peterderidder9922 UA-camrs responding to that only throws gas on the fire. People who senselessly kill large predators like that only do it to project an idea of how tough they are (a form of compensation). When environmentalists like myself publicly go after them, it just gives them the attention they desperately want.
What needs to be done, and there are people working on this, is to pressure legislators into increasing protections for alligator gar that will undercut what bow fishermen are allowed to do.
@@wildlifefishingshow Hi, I 'm from belgium and in europe sadly we dont have such magnificent beasts. if 20 teams of bowhunters hunt on those gar they will dicapear in an few years. I didnt understand youre letter for 100% , But cant you write messages to people of the gouverment who cares . OMG it is such a waiste killing dosens of big alligator gar . Sadly it takes a lot of time to getting that big. Canr you make a alliance with other gar fisherman ?
Pitty you cant send them to the ocean to shoot somme big scharks. Those gar deserve respect from human kind. and those guys undermine dreams of young boys who once there big wanna catch such a big gar. Make a alliance , do petitions , do everything you can to stop this. They deserve it, sush beatifull fish , and a good sportfish. I felt so bad when I saw that boat full of dead realy big gar boddy's. Greetings from belgium and I hope you can unite lots of fishrman who ar pro gar ! live and let live. See yah my friend. Only You....lmao, that's really funny b/c I know that you've got the skills to catch fish anywhere & this is just another form that
few, if any, would consider. I'm laughing but not at you...... I'm tickled that you're doing it but down there you could catch an
alligator or turtle inside the pipes. Ohh, and plenty of snakes as well but you know all this. Anywhere the water feeds into
a pond/lake or canal is going to be a prime spot to catch what lurks. I've never seen anyone fish down a street drain.
