The strange looking goldfish you found is a bubble eye goldfish. They are supposed to look like that, but they struggle to see and find food, and the bags under their eyes can easily rupture. I think it is really sad that they are being bred like that :(

You may have one more week on that pond and it deserves it. The amount of amazing fish pulled out of the abandoned ponds, it deserves a proper video to send it off. The goldfish is known as a 'bubble Eye'. It's considered an exotic goldfish, more commonly kept in tanks rather than ponds. They are more prone to infections as you can imagine due to those bubbles. Personally I see them on a par with pearlscale goldfish, they have too many health issues and shouldn't be in as much demand as they are cause its kind of cruel how they suffer! I'm only a 3rd of the way in to the video, but as always I love the enthusiasm you show for each fish you find, they have the best possible chance at surviving with you, thank you for all that you do to save these scale babies! ❤

FOR THE GOLDFISH WITH FUNNY EYES!!! Those are a species of goldfish called Bubble Eye Goldfish. They are bred specifically for their funny look and are not found in the wild. Do not be afraid to put that one with any other fish because he/she does not have a disease and is supposed to look like that!! Because of bubbles on their eyes though, it can develop health problems for the fish and can make the fish very unhappy for the rest of its life. Although it is legal to breed them, personally, I think that breeding these types of fish is wrong and we should breed animals for our satisfaction but rather their health and happiness while there alive. Fish have lives too

Your "gooey-eyed" goldfish are Bubble Eyed Goldfish. At Tustin Pet Village, they were nearly triple the cost of the other fancy goldfish we carried. Those eyes are delicate, so don't have sharp things in their habitat. Keep up the great work!!

Completely agree with you, bubble eyes and pearlscales are both varieties that suffer far too much but are 'exotic' so people want them more 😔
