Six years ago, I threw a line into a random bayou running through the heart of Houston and ended up discovering the city's best kept fishing secret: these inner-city bayous are absolutely loaded with all kinds of fish!
Seriously, the vast majority of the city's four million inhabitants have no idea that underneath all the concrete, steel, and glass are fish.

Random question. I have been out to the river and have had a tough time getting the bait positioned without the current moving it away. We were also using heavy weights. Don’t know if it has to do with the wind or not, or if it’s just usual. How do I find spots without heavy currents?

I can extremely relate to this video because I’ve also fallen into the body before and my leg got cut up from the concrete as I was slipping down into the water and it took me a while to get out but a week later I had a major skin infection that ruined my whole summer😢
So I found a new strategy for getting my fish out from the water without falling in with them and it’s shoving a steak into the ground and attaching a rope to it and letting it dangle all the way to the waters edge, and whenever I need to land of fish, I just walk down there and hold the rope in one hand and have the fishing rod and another and so far it worked out great!!!👍

It's right around the spawn in Texas, depending on where you are, for channel cats. They'll be full of eggs and hungry if female. Fun to watch someone else fish the flood control in the Houston area. Any fish in the lakes in the area will be in the creeks, bayous, and flood control.
