I can confirm that you can get XL wind turbines and even solar arrays but you can also rarely find working RTGs and medium batteries on field shelter debris
I recently did a stranded save and I definitely got a extra large wind turbine right off the bat matter of fact where your character spawns it's right over the hill from where it spawns
So technically the QT-RTG is better than RTG because putting them on a medium storage takes the same room but double power(plus u can carry in backpack and place them without a platform)
so for the infinite bite astronium thing you could use the timer thingy and make it infinetly do that while you do something else? and if you really wanted to you could make multiple that is if you had the power for that. that last one is evil
@@Kuba_plays_games If you want bytes immediately, I would recommend running 8 tether stacks to get bytes manually. Usually 8 stacks will expose you to enough samples to get you at least 7k bytes. After that, you may have a big enough lead to just let the auto ones be how you get your bytes from then on out.
I disagree with Calidor not being worth it for the early game. As long as you have a buggy and a qt-rtg you can go anywhere with little worry. Plus resources tend to spawn in larger clusters on Calidor with higher frequency than say Sylva. Just go there when you get to the point you need tungsten and stay closer to the surface as the soil is denser than on many other planets. Only go into the caves when you need aluminum, or when you have a better drill because the denser soil might make it too hard to get back to your oxygen supply. Aluminum seems to spawn higher up there too so it's not much of a problem to find it. I prefer going to Calidor for tungsten because it's easier to find there imo
Tungsten is the only real early game attraction and the reason I choose Desolo for that is because a lot of the Calidor Tungsten spawns in the harder soil.
@@worldclassjerk-epicgamer I must've gotten lucky then. Every time I need tungsten early game I've went to Calidor and found a lot of it in normal soil, and it felt easier to find than looking for a cave on Desolo. That being said. I recently went to Desolo with a tractor and a mid storage container in mid gameish and found out that the veins are bigger in Desolo so it is worth it more to go there. I always felt it's easier to find on Calidor tho so if you only need a few to start early game off than I think it's more worthwhile to go to Calidor and set up a base there while you're at it
somtime ago i made mistake of curiosity and it was close to my gas storage and i had rly cramped up base so yeah even today i somtimes find on of my platforms witht large silos b with rtg's

One of my favorite tips is: you don't need a full hydrazine in the chemistry lab, you can use a partial canister and it works just fine. Easy way to get partial canisters of it: put a few full hydrazine in a medium fluid canister, start to pump out a new canister and grab it quickly before it fills the entire thing. If you grab it fast enough, it will be less than 25% full.
I’m probably late to this video but bonus tip: if you don’t want to use your resources to make a nano carbon alloy just use the pet usagi on atrox because he can track crashed satellites or whatever they are called and the crashes satellites on atrox have a good chance of giving a nano carbon alloy Bonus Bonus tip: it’s the same thing with glacio but it’s steel and titanium alloys😁
I like how it goes from the 50th tip about going to caves, then switches to the un-numbered dynamite “tip.” Very subtle. (Only the true astroneers will find out what scraping dynamite does.)
I genuinely tested that in survival thinking it would work one time. Idk what I was thinking. Let's just say it didn't. My goal for this video is to make at least one person get unironically livid that I told them to do this, but I worded the tip carefully so that I'm not liable. It indeed gives you scrap. It just gets rid of your scrapper to do it.
I discovered that about dynamite on my own. I had printed like 100 or so and they were all near the shredder. It straight up teleported all my stuff into another dimension. Pretty neat.
Don't take this as an insult but I really like how "human" you are in your videos, like in a lot of other astroneer tip video it just feels like a wiki is talking to you and it can get kind of annoying but with you it feels like a friend letting you know all the cool stuff he found
Yes the research aide pods can give you technology ones that give you 7,000 bytes but there are research aide pods on Desolo on the surface that take sphalerite and give you researches that are 6,900 bytes, what's good about this one is it gives you more bytes per minute and is quicker than the other one. There are also research samples in Atrox's caves that give you 600 bytes each.
Over a thousand hours in this game and I did not know about that action with the extenders to turn off the flow direction 🙃 Even the Wiki doesn't mention this
I'm impressed to learn that anyone has more hours than me. I was really insecure about it. I thought I was the only one. Also, yes. I just recently learned that. I just so happened to notice an action available on it.

I dont think you can get automaton anymore, but i have a few on my save. They are little robots from an event. Hope this helps(: -edit idk why but i have so many random event tethers and i still dont know why🤣
Your infinite byte method is wack. You can make an EXTRA large platform, put a research chamber on it and the gas maker on it. The gas maker requires NO user input to create gas. If you make gas on a loop, it will place the gas automatically in the research scanner. Extra large too expensive/late game? That's fine. Just put them on 2 separate medium large-Bs and, with a medium platform a/c, use a robot arm to transfer them. The best part of this method is this will work infinitely in the background AND is stackable AND you can go on a completely separate planet and it will still be working non-stop. If you add a soil/gas container to the mix, you can have it FIRST go to the gas container b4 going to the research scanner, so you will get a full canister of gas and the excess gets scrapped for bytes all automatically.
A tip I found is the hover board removes carry weight powered on unpowered, so you can move while holding an XL item like a shuttle or XL windmills unencumbered.
2:36 7th tip. I like calidor as my second base because it has Sufule, Copper, and Tungsten. Which the copper can be used as solar panels and tungsten for median generalers. And you get like a 2-3x solar power output than most planets and not to mention the 24/7 solar power glitch with the north pole
I usually like to go to Novus. Iron for me atmospheric condenser, lithium for medium batteries, high winds and high solar. Plus methane, necessary for silicon, which is necessary for a HUB. Which I like to use since it gives me a constant supply of oxygen en power. Even if I didn't go there with an rocket but via the core transport system
people who play this game never seem to acknowledge those, if not just flat out not know about it talking about 3:21 with the fault finders this channel and another channel i've found seem decently competent if not just plain good at the game, but never acknowledge _that whole entire chunk of it_ the other one is even making a whole comprehensive guide for every stage of the game, but they don't mention any part past literally _just going through the gateway portal_ im confused? like, i have really crappy bases with entirely unorganized or completely loose items all over the ground and i have been through _both_ of those parts of the game and i see NOONE even make a passive off-hand mention or nod to that whole bit i doubt it's anything actually weird, could easily be explained, but from just my perspective with off-the-bat observations, it's odd it's especially confusing when it's something i _actively use and benefit significantly from_ whenever i hop onto my save also do people just not use the galastropods? i hardly see them in use in these types of videos for the record i've got 141 hours in the game, and have never used the wiki
Tip 36: The easiest way to get this many EXO caches is to run rails to the Mantle Cave Layer of the planet you're based on, and collect any nearby caches. Load them onto a train and easily send 5 at a time to the surface. All of the required resources can be found on Sylva, and are low in byte cost.
Another item to bring on planets is packagers because if you use it on your thruster it regains it’s fuel but make sure the thruster doesn’t turn to scrap
On glacio in some of the large wreck, you can find pretty much the exact materials you need to make a large shuttle or even a drill mod 3. Another thing, DO NOT SKIP OVER THE FIELD SHELTER DEBRIS ON GLACIO! Most of them i find either have a medium batterg or a WHOLE RTG! Just bring a packager, hope you get lucky and BAM you have an rtg that you can get early game.
Tell me how glacio is not the best planet. Like wind is easier to craft, being able to be easily obtained with a soil centerfuge and is better small. And glacio has easy access to bytes, and the train quests. No reason not to go there first.
btw you can expand all storage using both the large storage silo B in conjunction with medium storage silos, thing is the items clip into each other but they don't mess with each other usually I use this method for when I'm mass producing, but obviously since they gave us the resource canisters this method doesn't get used as often but considering that LSSB has 12 medium slots (technically 24 small slots) and that the regular medium silo has 24 small slots you can fill all 12 slots with these medium silos giving a total of 288 spaces very much an overkill but fill 144 with solar and 144 with wind and never worry about power production use 96 solar 96 wind and 96 small batteries and you'll have yourself an amazing power bank but I doubt you'd want to actually make multiple, or need to
i highly recommend making auto byte farms instead of using 8 stacks of tethers because you can be on a different planet doing something else and your bytes will skyrocket. i like making mine by putting a proximity repeater on top of a delay repeater and put it next to a scan sample spawning area (dont forget to set the delay repeater to 25 ticks)
"Don't go to Vesania in the early game" Me going to Vesania 5 minutes after starting the game with a full inventory of cables to explore caves, and coming back 10 minutes latter with almost 40k bytes and saving hours of a boring grind to be able to research stuff.
@@worldclassjerk-epicgamer I just don't like glacio at all, i guess most don't like as well, that wind noise is sickening, the caves itself are easier to run around, but the planet is a big meh
For infinite bytes it's EXTREMELY easy to set up an auto arm wih a research station and an atmospheric condenser. You can research gases for bytes lol various types are different amounts but regardless, it's 0 effort once you set it up and you will never need bytes again.

Bruh I did tried to scrap dynamite before the vid, the worst part is that it was in middle of my with close proximity to methane storage 😈 (I didn’t reload my save lmao)
For early game power. We can plant trees, auto arm the organic to a smelter then atuto arm the carbon to a medium storage on a large curved platform. Then put 4 medium generators on same platform. Two on either side of storage. Will make 36 power minus the power for the smelter..
Calidor is far better than Desolo, as well as Tungsten, it’s easier to find copper in decent amounts and it’s much easier to make hydrazine on Calidor than on Sylva as ammonium is much easier to find there.
I feel like it's more fun to go out exploring and bring back all of the power sources I find. Just looking at all of the mismatched power sources at my base probably shows that. Maybe I should organize my power better. Organize. If you look at my base you'll think that's a 4 letter word around there.

nothing speaks for the small generator since the silo technique using a medium storage with 8 slots equipping a small wind turbine is better and doesnt ruin your surroundings for organic

@@worldclassjerk-epicgamer Do have any videos on how you make buildings? Like, legit structures out of terrain? I saw yout level block tutorial, but not one on "terrain base building". I know one would just be an expansion on the other, but if you don't already have it, I think it would make for a great deep-dive video.
I always wanted to make one. I just might. I explained it a little in the space station video.
the last one is really useful, thanks for telling people about it
I would like to add to the last tip:
Smelting gasses/hydrazine is extremely useful in a co-op session.
I can confirm that you can get XL wind turbines and even solar arrays but you can also rarely find working RTGs and medium batteries on field shelter debris
My favorite tip is when you use the flatten terrain mode on recources you get waaay more efficient mining
Glowsticks can be very useful to mark a path without needing to make sure tether lines connect.
I refuse this notion.
I recently did a stranded save and I definitely got a extra large wind turbine right off the bat matter of fact where your character spawns it's right over the hill from where it spawns
I did not know that we could package the science boulders. 🤦♂️ All that time carrying them in my hand.
Thank you for tip 9. extremely helpful
and with great shredders come great explosions
So technically the QT-RTG is better than RTG because putting them on a medium storage takes the same room but double power(plus u can carry in backpack and place them without a platform)
In terms of power output they are, but it's far less annoying to just plop a field of normal RTGs down somewhere.
@@worldclassjerk-epicgameryea true your definitely right about that
so for the infinite bite astronium thing you could use the timer thingy and make it infinetly do that while you do something else? and if you really wanted to you could make multiple that is if you had the power for that.
that last one is evil
Do you think scrap it is worth to research in early game , it gives 250bites in around 2 minutes?
No. I recommend going to Glacio and researching the samples in the caves. They respawn and give a lot of bytes.
Thanks I've already started makeing it automated but it still takes forever since I only have 3 set up
@@Kuba_plays_games If you want bytes immediately, I would recommend running 8 tether stacks to get bytes manually. Usually 8 stacks will expose you to enough samples to get you at least 7k bytes.
After that, you may have a big enough lead to just let the auto ones be how you get your bytes from then on out.
Lol I did the dynamite before because I was just curios and it just caused utter chaos when I just organized my base
They made me say that stuff, bro.
I always felt it's easier to find on Calidor tho so if you only need a few to start early game off than I think it's more worthwhile to go to Calidor and set up a base there while you're at it
somtime ago i made mistake of curiosity and it was close to my gas storage and i had rly cramped up base so yeah even today i somtimes find on of my platforms witht large silos b with rtg's
on the contrary of not visiting calidor, novus, and vesania...
the second planet i usually go to is calidor because of the galastropod there, which provides infinite oxygen.
Certainly a decent thing, but really not efficient strictly from the viewpoint of rapid progression.
I could understand it as a preference, though.
One time I found an rtg functioning in a broken field shelter on novus
Fr? That's wicked.
Portable oxygenated portable rtg is op
I went buggy to large rover lol and I absolutely skip medium shuttle and drill t2 same with the rover drill went straight to tier 3
I found 3 XL wind turbines out on atrox and novus 2 on novus and 1 on atrox
I have found a XL wind turbine on glacio but that is the only time I have found one
You can also get massive amounts of power using destroyed sun energy makers
Yeah, I put that in another tips video, so I tried to refrain from putting that here to avoid recycling.
I also made a separate video on that by itself. It's the 2nd most viewed video on the channel, too. Very epic fun fact.
Nice Tips

Tip 15 is incorrect, batteries do not follow this logic as far as I am aware, it has been a while, but the last time I played astroneer, the batteries stopped working out of render distance.
Also, pro tip, do not follow the tip shown after tip 50, not good, I was also once a moron.
45 is not a tip,
it's a necessity
the most minblowing tip for me was that I can connect large rovers together I was using one large rover and thought that you can only use the small trailers with it that have 4 slots, I feel so stupid for not realizing it soonerm I have ~30 hours in or so and more specfically I am at the point where I have reasearched almost everything and am at the process of automating ral car mining and trasport with auto extractors. I feel so stupid.........
I wouldn't feel stupid for not knowing that at 30 hours. It's weird how rovers can function as trailers or engines.
@@worldclassjerk-epicgamer It could be more than 30 hours, but still I feel like I was supposed to know this or at least realize it sooner, but i never built a seconf large rover, also the game doesnt explain anything about it. anyways thanks.
Tip 43 is a fucking game changer
Idk if you’ll see this but yes I’ve had a xxl wind turbine spawn
That scrap your dynamite tip is very mean.
Also, keep your dynamite away from your base, very far away.
you destroyed my whole base omg it is funny but i trusted you...
I am sorry.
I’m on the last planet and haven’t automated anything, (I didn’t realise you could)
DONT SCRAP DYNAMITE, I was driving away from base with some dynamite in the back and my auto arm picked it up and put it in the shredder and guess what, it blew up destroying the platform and the shredder and even a bit of land underneath so yeah don't scrap dynamite cuz it will destroy things
You're spreading lies!
Try it then
Don't come crawling back to me when you have to make a new shredder

Do not put the dinamit in the shredder because it will blow up the shredder
Nonsense!
Youre supposed to smelt your dynamite.
I do!
45. do not craft glowsticks! i freaking died lmao

1, Hydrogen research from atrox has more bytes than desolo and glacio research.

This is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you so much! Your hard work is appreciated 👏

That's actually quite epic.
@@worldclassjerk-epicgamer its possible to extend it so far that i was able to craft 24 graphene with 7/8 of a canister of hydrazine
I’m probably late to this video but bonus tip: if you don’t want to use your resources to make a nano carbon alloy just use the pet usagi on atrox because he can track crashed satellites or whatever they are called and the crashes satellites on atrox have a good chance of giving a nano carbon alloy
Bonus Bonus tip: it’s the same thing with glacio but it’s steel and titanium alloys😁
Btw you gotta feed them seeds if you want there power to work

I like how it goes from the 50th tip about going to caves, then switches to the un-numbered dynamite “tip.” Very subtle.
(Only the true astroneers will find out what scraping dynamite does.)
I genuinely tested that in survival thinking it would work one time. Idk what I was thinking.
Let's just say it didn't. My goal for this video is to make at least one person get unironically livid that I told them to do this, but I worded the tip carefully so that I'm not liable. It indeed gives you scrap. It just gets rid of your scrapper to do it.
I put a dynamite on a smelting furnace as a joke once, i thought it was off...
Oh well that sure was a learning experience
Or anyone with an IQ in english, north of 80.
I discovered that about dynamite on my own. I had printed like 100 or so and they were all near the shredder.
It straight up teleported all my stuff into another dimension.
Pretty neat.
Don't take this as an insult but I really like how "human" you are in your videos, like in a lot of other astroneer tip video it just feels like a wiki is talking to you and it can get kind of annoying but with you it feels like a friend letting you know all the cool stuff he found
I would never take this as an insult. I try to balance out making sense and not being boring about it.
I'm glad you think I succeed at this.
Also if you go to Atox there is a chance to find
nanocarbon alloy
Steel
Titanium alloy
And/or a full can of helium/sulfur/methane, in spaceship debris
In Atrox's core, some research samples yeild 1100+ bytes.
I've blown up 27 eco crates at once with 1 dynamite
Over a thousand hours in this game and I did not know about that action with the extenders to turn off the flow direction 🙃 Even the Wiki doesn't mention this
I'm impressed to learn that anyone has more hours than me. I was really insecure about it. I thought I was the only one.
Also, yes. I just recently learned that. I just so happened to notice an action available on it.
@@worldclassjerk-epicgamerI've been playing this game for years now (it was on Xbox at first so I don't have the hours logged) but I hadn't noticed it till recently either.
Maybe it's new? It's defo been about a year since I last played.
I have over a thousand as well and never knew that. i would always use the med platform a as an extender cause of that. hahaha
@@dolan660 Yeah, I actually didn't know that before this video. Very new discovery, indeed.

I found 1 on Vesenic once.
I watch a lot of guides/tips/tricks videos for various games throughout my gaming hobby and this is one of the best ones. Quick edits, good humor, no annoying music, useful tips. Nice job!
Number 12 is probably due to divide-by-zero issues for the ones who dosent know
I disagree, Vesania is often the first planet i visit for early lithium.. Getting medium batteries down so my base can still run with no wind/solar power makes life SOOO much easier
did this but forgot to actually mine sphalerite before i lift sooooooo
That last tip is a real killer 👍👍👍
Best tip of the lot
I dont think you can get automaton anymore, but i have a few on my save. They are little robots from an event. Hope this helps(:
-edit idk why but i have so many random event tethers and i still dont know why🤣
You can find XL wind turbines I’ve found 2 so far on glacio
A tip I found is the hover board removes carry weight powered on unpowered, so you can move while holding an XL item like a shuttle or XL windmills unencumbered.
this is useful!
@@Rosebakker5242 yea I love novus is the second base I set up once I get a infinite hydrozine farm set up on calidor
Just still use XL wind turbines because a lot of look nice spanning the horizon of my base. Who cares if they’re more inefficient they look nice.
This is how I feel as well.
people who play this game never seem to acknowledge those, if not just flat out not know about it
talking about 3:21 with the fault finders
this channel and another channel i've found seem decently competent if not just plain good at the game, but never acknowledge _that whole entire chunk of it_
the other one is even making a whole comprehensive guide for every stage of the game, but they don't mention any part past literally _just going through the gateway portal_
im confused?
like, i have really crappy bases with entirely unorganized or completely loose items all over the ground and i have been through _both_ of those parts of the game and i see NOONE even make a passive off-hand mention or nod to that whole bit
i doubt it's anything actually weird, could easily be explained, but from just my perspective with off-the-bat observations, it's odd
it's especially confusing when it's something i _actively use and benefit significantly from_ whenever i hop onto my save
also do people just not use the galastropods? i hardly see them in use in these types of videos
for the record i've got 141 hours in the game, and have never used the wiki
Galastropods are very useful. I just haven’t mentioned them much yet because I haven’t thought to much. I may go over them some day.
Correct.
btw you can expand all storage using both the large storage silo B in conjunction with medium storage silos, thing is the items clip into each other but they don't mess with each other
usually I use this method for when I'm mass producing, but obviously since they gave us the resource canisters this method doesn't get used as often
but considering that LSSB has 12 medium slots (technically 24 small slots) and that the regular medium silo has 24 small slots
you can fill all 12 slots with these medium silos giving a total of 288 spaces
very much an overkill but fill 144 with solar and 144 with wind and never worry about power production
use 96 solar 96 wind and 96 small batteries and you'll have yourself an amazing power bank
but I doubt you'd want to actually make multiple, or need to
Tip 41 gives me an idea…
i highly recommend making auto byte farms instead of using 8 stacks of tethers because you can be on a different planet doing something else and your bytes will skyrocket. i like making mine by putting a proximity repeater on top of a delay repeater and put it next to a scan sample spawning area (dont forget to set the delay repeater to 25 ticks)
"Don't go to Vesania in the early game"
Me going to Vesania 5 minutes after starting the game with a full inventory of cables to explore caves, and coming back 10 minutes latter with almost 40k bytes and saving hours of a boring grind to be able to research stuff.
I’d recommend doing this on Glacio instead.
@@worldclassjerk-epicgamer I just don't like glacio at all, i guess most don't like as well, that wind noise is sickening, the caves itself are easier to run around, but the planet is a big meh
OMG I WAS SCRAPING DYNAMITE AND GOT TEN PEACES OF SCRAP ITS REAL!!!!!
For infinite bytes it's EXTREMELY easy to set up an auto arm wih a research station and an atmospheric condenser. You can research gases for bytes lol various types are different amounts but regardless, it's 0 effort once you set it up and you will never need bytes again.
34.5 14:o5 the ball's pattern looks awfully similart to a visor or skin (cant remember name) that had a moving dotted pattern, besides that its probably just a lore item seeing as it has a description like artifacts and doesnt have any attachment points
No idea what the rift effects could be tho
UPDATE: i found one in my save on novus and it can be placed on platforms maybe it is researchable ill try to find out
UPDATE (final): i wasnt able to research it all i was able to do with it was transport it and change it by pressing f with that rift effect
I had a scrapper inside my auto dynamite factory on calidor, one day i misclicked and shredded some dynamite. That was the biggest hole I have ever seen in the game
That’s actually incredibly sad. XD
I have my EXO request platform next to my XL Shredder. I have come very close to shredding full canisters of Nanocarbon Alloy. I need to move it before the inevitable happens.
BTW, this was during A.M.P.P 2023.
I thought i played it all till 46... Then 47 some wicked bases you got going . ..Also i play on ps4 so number 50 the upgrade is to sprint fall and flat print to the bottom.
Bruh I did tried to scrap dynamite before the vid, the worst part is that it was in middle of my with close proximity to methane storage 😈
(I didn’t reload my save lmao)
For early game power. We can plant trees, auto arm the organic to a smelter then atuto arm the carbon to a medium storage on a large curved platform. Then put 4 medium generators on same platform. Two on either side of storage. Will make 36 power minus the power for the smelter..
Calidor is far better than Desolo, as well as Tungsten, it’s easier to find copper in decent amounts and it’s much easier to make hydrazine on Calidor than on Sylva as ammonium is much easier to find there.
I feel like it’s more fun to make the bigger wind turbines instead of spamming the small ones
So do I
I feel like it's more fun to go out exploring and bring back all of the power sources I find. Just looking at all of the mismatched power sources at my base probably shows that. Maybe I should organize my power better. Organize. If you look at my base you'll think that's a 4 letter word around there.
Man, most of the world is missing out on Astroneer. It's literally the BEST video game, and nobody i know plays it (except my friends who i made buy it). Thanks for doing awesome content like this, and hopefully dragging people into the fanbase. :)
Im not sure if you mentioned this but you can find fully functional large solar pannels and solar arrays on calidor, im assuming thay you may be able to find functioning extra large turbines om glacio then if you can find arrays on calidor
oh man why did you do it to them, i will not scrap the dynamite for you here rn but be sure to do it yourself. i am pretty sure even most new people could see what would happen. its just blows up your shit, same happens with fuel canisters if you scrap em i think. oh and dont forget to aboid putting flammable gasses in the smelter.

Omg, nice troll. Here's another tidbit for Linux users: rm *
dude. that's mean. funny, but mean.
13:00 One time on Glacio I did find an XL, but then a plant blew me and the turbine up, sending it into the stratosphere. I was not happy.
I can't stop laughing at the fact that at 2:25 he cuts off himself.
Sometimes I get lost in the details. XD
nothing speaks for the small generator since the silo technique using a medium storage with 8 slots equipping a small wind turbine is better and doesnt ruin your surroundings for organic
