    I'm a Steelers fan but have been living in Chicago for several years now so I got to watch just about every game Justin played in as a Bear. He had 2 bad play callers in Matt Nagy and Luke Getsy during his tenure here and they never put much around him as far as the OL and weapons. DJ Moore was the best WR he had to throw to by far and they didn't get him until Justin's final year there. So then they use the pick gifted to them by the Panthers to go draft Caleb, get him a bunch of weapons, and the offense still sucks because their OL is still trash. So I was really pumped when it was announced that the Steelers traded for him because I've seen the shit show in Chicago close up and knew that the Steelers and Arthur Smith would get him right.

      @@jimmymacnutrition6628 For stat watchers it's just 1 game. However, as someone who's watched Fields since day 1 I can tell you that there has been definite improvement from when he was with the Bears. He's making throws on-time, in rhythm and getting the ball out of his hands much faster. Not to mention not turning the ball over. All of these were an issue with the Bears so if the Steelers can clean this up then they've found themselves a QB for the foreseeable future.

I would agree he has improved but want to see him do it in the 4th quarter on a consustant basis. His was typically good for 2-3 quarters with the Bears and then fell apart in the 4th. So far this year he has been playing with the lead most of the time, so little pressure.

    As a Steeler/Buckeye fan, I'm loving it! How has Pittsburg put together 17 years straight winning football in the age of parity. That is ownership, leadership and coaching. Listen to what Justin said toward Caleb regarding the Chicago situation. If I heard it right he said, "You will be blamed for everything"! He didn't say he was not responsible for his performance. But it is a team sport. Listen to everything Tomlin says about coaching in that sport. You want everyone in your organization embracing the challenges of the game. Not looking for who to blame.

    As a JF1 truther, I’ll explain why. In year 1, he had the greatest rushing season of any QB in history. He had no weapons and no line. It reminded me of Barry Sanders, surviving and thriving in abysmal conditions. In year 2, with no weapons or line, he deserved a Pro Bowl nod just for surviving. All you excuse makers for Caleb justify his pitiful team in his last year at USC, but trash JF1 for being simply better with the same circumstances. I can only think of Josh Allen as a QB who could physically and mentally survive that roster, and even show improvement in it all. Last season, he got three total breakout teammates and only one on offense. He turned DJ Moore into an elite receiver. Now the Bears build a team with everything JF1 needed, and they did him all time dirty. Everyone knows it. It was despicable. JF1 would’ve thrown for 4,000 yards this year if the Bears drafted Joe Alt, Brock Bowers, and pick a Center. They also could’ve ended up with 3 1st and 3 2nd round picks each year for the next three years. They were that committed to destroying JF1. Look at him now. This guy will never be emotionally destroyed. That’s his superpower. Put some Respek on his name.

    • @MattyJian
      @MattyJian Місяць тому +3

      It was year 2 (2022) that he was electric with his legs. He came into the 2021 season as a backup to Dalton but Dalton goes down to injury in week 2. The Bears had just recently made the playoffs but had an aging roster which they then completely dismantle and leave Fields with the barebones ala one of the worst teams we’ve ever seen in Chicago yet somehow he ends up making chicken soup out of chicken shizz. Fast forward Chicago keeps up its ineptitude giving him next to nothing and his stats aren’t “gaudy enough” to “justify” giving him more talent than just DJ and Kmet. It’s purely sick what Chicago did to this kid. They put him through a rebuild with a terrible roster and kicked him to the curb when they started showing major progress. He had his own flaws sure but I’d say out of everything only about 30% was his own fault.

Like, who would have thought that a talented guy getting put in a situation that isn't abysmal for the first time ever and he shows the ability to succeed. Chicago Bears made a major mistake trading Justin Fields. He is looking very composed and understands Steelers game plan on offense and the team is coming together very nicely on both sides of the ball. The Steelers are going far this season. Maybe not Super bowl just yet but will win AFC North champs. If they offer Justin a 4 or 5 year contract and make him Steelers franchise QB next season they can make the Super bowl in 2025 season as they shape this team to a Super bowl winner. Chicago Bears are going no where. We have no good management or coaching to shape a rookie QB. Chicago expects to put a rookie QB from college to immediately succeed in the pros. The NFL need to have a minor league teams to draft these rookie QB to and get the experience of the NFL that play faster like they do with MLB. They bring them up from the minor teams to get the experience and they are ready to play at a higher level. It is obvious many teams do not want to bother coaching a rookie QB from college to be a starting QB in the NFL and be a immediate winner to lead the team to win games it takes development and shaping a team to come together with good coaching and talent on the team. Rooting for JF and the Steelers they make the playoffs this season and that will really stick it to the Chicago Bears for trading JF to the Steelers. Chicago Bears also put to much pressure, no game management or any offensive play scheme on Justin Field's and which they are doing exactly to Caleb Williams and that leads to failure. it's only up from here for the Steelers they have a winning QB we traded away who gives 100% on the field when he plays and this team plays hard on both sides of the ball and everyone executes their game plan they are going to win their games and bigger plays start to show up in their game plan. Feel Justin Fields has support from Steelers Coaches since he was drafted into the NFL by Chicago Bears and that makes a huge difference and he looks relaxed out their on the field and like some have said he used to look scared at times and I feel that was because he was scared of making mistakes, losing and the outcome of backlash after the game and so much pressure having to lead an incomplete roster team to winning games put all on him and he was not the only player on this team and coaches not accountable at all? Luke Getsy Bears ex offensive coordinator when he was with the Chicago Bears last season should have been fired mid season maybe could have saved Justin Fields's and Chicago Bears and Poles building that offensive line of talent around Justin Field's and not trade away talent on defense. Coach Eberflus for Chicago Bears should be let go after this 2024 season and find a real coach that has game management, oversees the whole team to big success with their roster because he is the worst game manager. Find and offense and Defense coaches that knows game management that knows how to really create a playbook that works with the players they have on their team and their QB and have a game plan, support and teach their rookie QB the speed of the NFL and teach read the field. Go Justin Go! I never doubted Justin Field's he was put in a very bad situation with Chicago Bears and Poles, coaching completely screwed it up!

    What the Tomlin haters fail to realize is that Tomlin is a true leader/father-figure to anyone under his coaching style. The only thing that scares the top free agents from choosing Pittsburgh is how frugal the franchise under Rooney is. Tomlin is a stoic man who speaks matter-of-factly about the game, which makes him a media darling. He brings character and personality to the job. That is far better than having a gimmick coaching style and a thick "personal" playbook. That is why Tomlin has weathered the storm of the coaching carousel. If the haters had their way, long ago, they would have thrown out the baby with bath water and currently be stagnant at six Superbowls.

      Sure but it's not too early to point out patterns that the Bears have had in developing their rookie QBs for years now that didn't change just because they drafted Caleb. They didn't exactly set Trubisky or Fields up for success in the way they constructed the roster or the HC/OC decisions they made and ALL those patterns are repeating. Eberflus is very unlikely to be there after this year which almost certainly means a new OC for Caleb too in his second year which often does not bode well for rookie QBs.

    Wow! How can you say you were wrong under one breath and still expect him to fail? Why would you be a Justin hater? Going back to last season, he's 7-2 in his last 9 games. He has 5 games last year with a QB rating of 97 or better with 2 of them over 100 rating yet you foolishly say Fields was a bad QB. Now you realize Fields wasn't the problem..why? Because the next Zach Wilson oops mean Mahomes is struggling mightily. Fields, coming out of college, was accurate, a pocket passer first, took few sacks, and had few turnovers, and mature. He picked up the bad habits when he went to Chicago with their dysfunction. I hope Caleb succeed but I don't expect him to because he has major flaws in his game that might derail his career. He takes too many sacks, fumbles too much (32 times), plays hero ball too much, plays out of structure too much, inconsistent from the pocket, and immature. That bad Bears o-line only highlights his flaws. Caleb fans were so enamored with his wow plays yall didn't pay attention to his play from the pocket, a QB's bread and butter in the NFL.
    Caleb copied the Mahomes out of structure stuff, but not Mahomes pocket passing. Newsflash: Caleb is playing exactly like he did in college, but he isn't getting away with the silly throws like he did in college. Caleb's game is backwards. He plays out of structure first, then from the pocket like Zach Wilson. He has to change his game, or he will fail because of the added pressure placed on him by people thinking he's the next Mahomes, the success of CJ Stroud, the silly expectations of the Bears making the playoffs, and the success of Fields. Back to Fields. He's only going to get better as he gets comfortable with the team as they get comfortable with him. The Steelers are making the playoffs. People like you will give Fields his flowers and respect.

    Fields in Chicago had no line to protect him, and hardly anyone to throw to until they traded for one. No wonder Fields suffered. Now that Williams is getting it that much worse in Chicago… No one wants to admit that drafting a QB doesn’t fix a team automatically. You have to protect him.
    My only thing with Fields in Pittsburgh is they need to loosen the offense a little bit more.

  • @grunge10111

    As a Steelers fan I have to disagree that the Steelers secretly wanted Fields to be the starter all along. There's no way that's the case. In order to sign Russell Wilson in the first place they had to guarantee him the starting job. They wanted him bad enough to do that. They told Fields when they traded for him that he would be Wilson's backup. An injury or poor play from Russ during the season was the only way Fields was ever going to start at QB this season.
