31st St May 21, 2023 Monthly Meeting and Fundraiser for DEMpower

31st Street Swing Left held its Monthly Meeting on Sunday May 21, 2023. Jim Shelton, lead Political Analyst, gave his assessment of the current state of play, stressing the importance of remaining active in the "off season" and the benefits which came from having strong state Democratic Parties. The first guest speaker, Mike Lux, emphasized the need for a populist economic message that would resonate with working class voters. Kim Allen, Executive Director of DEMpower, discussed why voter protection is key to election outcomes, also noting the importance of strong state Democratic Parties. A fundraiser will be held May 30, 2023 to provide additional support to DEMpower and its work on voter protection.
