It's such a useful content and perfect guide from your experience. Video editing is also great. I hope many Zwifters will see this video and find it helpful. I am looking forward to your 100th race soon. 💪😁👍
Hey great content and tips 👌 I’ve learnt quite a lot to date but very happy to have found this. Looking forward to checking your previous and future uploads 👍🏼
That's a nice list but one fundamental is missing which is rest/sleep/recovery/nutrition/hydration (well Icount it as one). Cannot understand people who can race zwift almost everyday and expect peak performance. I had been in the situation of knowing and preparing everything theoretically and just does not have leg to push more watts. Quite impressed that you mention base aerobic fitness come first. Also I feel the real world race or workout is a lot harder (try that gorby on the actual road, even you find perfect road segment, even using same power meter, it's so difficult to get it done - but to be able to handle bike on the road at high speed and maintain the power is another IRL skills too).
Hey Ben! Exactly! I share your sentiments. I learned a lot in the past few years when I entered my 30s. I could really feel the age and all the injuries I've had in the past. That's when I started to take the science very seriously. I'm currently trying to peak in September. Hopefully, I'd be able to share more then. Hahaha! IKR! That's why I find it easier to just let ERG do its job (pros and cons). My lizard brain is always telling me to chill. And TBH, I'd probably never race outside. Heck, I haven't been riding outside for a while now haha! It's just so joyless riding in a city that's so saturated. Felt like every moving thing is trying to get me on the road. ☠ I do, however, have a new-found love for travelling with the bike. Outside of the city, just me, the bike and nature. I have a few trips planned and hope to share more as well. Always enjoyed this interaction with you. Love your MTB videos as well! Looks so much fun. Ride on, my friend! 💪
@@zwiftlegs Thanks, I actually just have crash on MTB 10 days ago and even now I'm not 100% back to normal. so MTB or sprint, standing climb (anything that need upper body work) is painful for me now, but i'm gradually getting better. I'm back to zwift and road bike more recently while feeling lost of confidence. Even gopro footage corrupted during the crash. I also love traveling with the bike as well. Living in suburb it's easy to drive to the park or organized event that has a pretty good route. But living in the city, trainer and zwift is pretty much only practical training for workday - and for safety reason too. I enjoy riding outside and shooing videos, but rarely finish editing haha. Plenty of footages are still sit quietly in the harddrive 🤣😆.

@@benjapolcycling oh no! Hope you're better now.
Injuries are real downers.
And yea, I can relate. Lots of footage, ideas.. just not enough time 🤣
I just checked how many races I’ve done… I just passed 600! 😂
That's why you're the OG!!! Hahaha! 💪🔥
