Good fun today Max! Lots of questions will be answered in a few days. Video is in the hopper and will drop this week. Non stop drops till the end of the year and we rest when we’re sleeping 😉
RGV = Road Gran Vitesse which is a play on TGV which is Train à Grande Vitesse or the French high speed railway. I did this race last night. It was attack city from the start and it dropped me from the front group. But I ended up seventh at the end. You rode well. You looked to be in it right to the end. And your situational awareness is improving. Good job!
Cracking racing again Max and congrats on the top 10 finish! There's nothing better than having Erik chasing you down in a race to push you harder than ever. I had some awesome races with Erik last year but sadly have been upgraded to A-cat so can't anymore.
Cracking race! 🎉 You have now joined Erik in the sprint for minor places 😜 and a massive well done for getting there so quick 💪 🚲 look forward to seeing you go from strength to strength in the new year but remember, there be tumbleweed in dem A pens 😉 😂
Now your starting to believe in your sprint I reckon you can afford to wait a few more seconds before you go for it. Reckon you could have won this race if you had just drafted for about 2 more seconds before going all in. Great to watch your progress 🎉
Thanks John, yeah maybe just waiting till the first rider goes and then just hammering it would be a better option if i can trust the sprint power. Will try this for my next race
@@thewattlife you only missed first place by less than a second so if you'd have waited and jumped into the draft of a few you could have potentially got the win. Good to hear you'll give it a go next time. Your sprint is strong 💪
LOVE this course., I've won here a few times. Dead flat for 13ks and then a small effort up next to the bridge and then downhill, flat and then rollers and the last 4ks is super fun. Raced this last night my time and got 7th from 69 riders. The finish is always brutal fun here.
On a flat, the best way to drop the sprinters is to go early. We want you all to wait until 300m where we can easily take the win. If you go around 700m-1.5 km range and do it at a pace you can sustain, you stand a chance at dropping the sprinters. That’s my guess as a B sprinter.
“One second, you beat me by one second. That’s very hard for a man of my intelligence to handle” (Eric in his garage quoting Apollo Creed) 😅 Merry Crimbo and congrats man
@@thewattlife yeah!, exactly. I did manage to get away and win a B cat ladder race on RGV last month, but that is only against one team.. anything Top 10 is a win in my book these days though.
@@thewattlife I assume then that is a metric you look at? Do you try to train for it - if so how? The only way I know how to “train” for it is to remind myself as I am riding to try and steadily increase power if I can
Yeah 100%. For the last few months ive mostly been Zwift racing and doing the odd workout. Occasionally ill do one workout a week and at least 2 or three races. But a lot of the time im not doing that many workouts so its mostly from the races and choosing the right one for the type of session i want to get in
@thewattlife I've only competed in 2 races. I realised that my top end power was way off the mark in comparison to other riders. Being placed in the Cat B category hasn't helped 😕 But I guess I can only improve from here on in. Thanks for the reply 👍🏾 🙌🏾

Great race man, loved it. @DontGetDroppedCycling Thanks for giving me half a chance
@@thewattlife you can thank my kid yelling at me for candy the whole race 🤪
Nice man! Great result and sprint effort!
Merry Christmas dude
This has to be the best sprint finish from your recent uploads. Very well done, nice result too!
Its slowly becoming a nice little weapon

Ha i think ill do my best to avoid Cat A when that time comes, but luckily not something i have to worry about for a while

These final rollers are the only thing that i think made this course fun= i mean i loved the aqua duct but other than that it was quite bland

hahaha this not knowing the course and the use of powerups it becoming a returning topic 😂
Im getting better on some courses but France just isnt one i know!!!
Darren, teammate, Orange headband 🤣
Might want to think about getting a pop filter too. You Ps are popping in the audio something hard. :D
Just got you at the finish line Max 😊
Haha well done, was trying my hardest to hold on after going a lil early. Fun race
Erik is the only Asian man I have ever seen that can grow facial hair. I dont know if the testosterone boosters help him with that.

What is your variability index value on these kinds of races?
This one wasn't too bad and it was a reasonably steady effort, however some of the other races are much higher
