Supurb .We make this green gram in many ways and it is usually had with puttu./ rice.1 .raw coconut milk 2.,dry coconut roasted 3 .Tomato purie 4. Curd .5.dry fry with greated fresh coconut ( 1.with green chillies and salt and the other with jaggery) . There r many other ways too . Rest is all the same except for the base of the gravy being different . I watched it .Thanks

One suggestion, when mentioning the quantities like number of onions/tomatoes, bunch of leafy vegetables, please consider mentioning volume (cups) or weight also because like the sizes can vary from place to place. Especially for people outside India the size of produce is far different than in India.

Hello chef. I was pleasantly surprised to see this recipe. Didn’t know it is called Dal Mughlai.... In southern part of Karnataka this is an old traditional curry. Two differences....we fry the masala well and then add the soaked green grams, diced potato and pressure cook for one or two whistles. And instead of birista at the end we break a few eggs and add, stirring gently so the eggs are scrambled into the curry. It thickens the curry as well as lends a unique taste. Goes well with chapathi, poori and rice. Now on I will garnish it with fried onions as you show, as I think that will add to the look and taste both. Thank you for the video.
