Just finished the repair and the gasket around the cover had all but crumbled away. It was clearly the cause of my water on the passenger side floor board. You have save me a lot of aggravation! Great tutorial… Thx a ton!
Man you save my life with this video!! I have been trouble shooting why water was coming in on my floor for 4 years lol I am so thankful for your video! Great job buddy!
This was my last water intrusion issue I had on my H2, removed the old gasket, cleaned and degreased area around plastic cover, instead of using tape I applied a nice bead of water resistant silicone around the outer lip, installed the cover while pressing it into place allowing the sealant to ooze out around the edges, and added an additional bead. Just an alternative. 😎👍

that water broke the electric blower of my Hummer Air condition system and cost me lots of money.... thank you for this video.- cheers from Cancun Mexico....
Thank you for the info. Fixed my issue even after I replaces the roof light gaskets with silicone and windshield. I was baffled until I watched your video.
I paused my DnD Info video to comewatch your vid. I no longer drive but I do tinker and this taught me a couple things. Did not know they were called *Friction Clips* and that I could epoxy in a new way in the workshop. Thanks Mikey.
I haven't had this leak YET on my '07, but I'm sure it's coming... Thanks for the great, detailed video. Most guys just say to remove parts, but you went to the extent on specifying HOW TO remove them with care to prevent breaks. Thanks again! I'm now a subscriber. 😎
I used the RV roof tape on my H2's sunroof after multiple attempts to fix it by other methods - No more leaks...!!!!! Will be doing this again on this leaking area.
Front column roof leaks can be caused by the seam seal by the roof rack rails caulking cracking near the far right and left running lights. I used flex seal to water proof that. There is caulking that runs the length of the roof on both sides, check for cracking.
I just bought a 05 and noticed head liner on both sides gets damp. I bought new seals for the lights. Did you remove the old seal by roof racks or did you just silicone over it?
I drove one of these at my old job once and in five min I hated the thing they are so hard to see out of. Great informative video dude. Hope all is well with the family as well
Great video with a lot of valuable information. I appreciate it very much! My only issue is trying to hear you over the music. I'm not a fan of extra noise, though, so it may just be me. I really do appreciate the info. You've armed me with all I need to know to repair my 2004 H2 that I refuse to get rid of regardless of the strong recommendation to do so by my 3 adult children & my husband. We all love it but they think it's no longer cost effective to keep fixing it. I disagree. It's my baby & has been since 2007 (13 years this August!) - that's longer than I've ever owned any vehicle! Nothing else will feel like a good fit, I'm afraid. Thanks for helping me keep her alive!
@@MikeyMoVlogs So what do you think about GMC resurrecting the Hummer as an electric truck? I about flipped when I heard they were going to be making the Hummer again but I hope they don't just leave it at trucks & build an actual SUV. A Hummer SUV. And if they do, I also hope GMC ups their game (or has upped their game since I haven't checked them out in awhile) on their interior workmanship. I always hated those aspects of my H2 - the cheap dials, buttons, etc.
It will be interesting to see. I looked at a few of the concept drawings and wasn’t very impressed. It looked to futuristic to me and not enough meaty truck, which I just kinda feel like a hummer should be. I mean it’s a HUMMER. lol
@@MikeyMoVlogs You nailed it! "Meaty" is exactly what a Hummer H2 is and should always be. I don't have much in the way of expectations, to be honest. @@MikeyMoVlogs Also - just thought I would let you know that thanks to your video, I was able to remove everything in order to access the area that needed to be sealed again and you were right. Nice video. Thanks. I just bought an 03 off the lot from a local Chevy dealer. Very well kept from an older couple that used it to drop their boat in the water. I am anxious to add some chrome accessories to the exterior and fix it up a little. Hummers are sweet man! Did you see the HX concept? Hope Hummer comes back some day.
Thanks for the video. Mine is getting water on my driver side, wonder if this would resolve my problem considering that panel getting sealed up is on the pass. side. I will be trying this real soon as well as replacing the roof light seals.
@@MikeyMoVlogs Yeah, gonna start there as that is the easiest. I have new light seals but have a good feeling the rubber grommet for the wires is not sealing well. Thanks for the quick reply.
Ill be doing this too! My radio has gone crazy with speakers not working so that all i get is high pitched audio which hurts my ears. Almost positive it is from water getting on wire connections or the radio. Of course i have water getting on carpets too.
I didn’t even have a leak there but i think you may have just fixed other problems i was having AC is broken and making a lot of noise down in the passanger side too when with the rpm sounds like a turbo but its from down there

Something similar happens on the H3 but it is the radio antenna, water was wicking down the antenna wire and soaking the carpet on the passenger side. I removed the radio antenna and sealed the mount with silicone, problem solved.
I hope it works. I got mine apart right now. Going to do the lights, sunroof drain tube and your seal job on that panel. I fished a rat nest out of the fender drain. Most of my leaks were driver side but the headliner was dripping too.👍🖖
Just got an H2, mine's leaking there. I read there was a recall on the wiper motor because water could get in, stop the wiper motor and cause a crash. My wiper motor works but is really noisy. I checked recalls and there are none out for mine. Maybe only certain years.

Ok I'm back. I checked my passenger side carpet today and it's wet. It's just the floor. It doesn't seem like it ran down from the blower area. Could it be coming from around the door to the floor because I did silicon unless I missed a spot. Any more suggestions????
The only known issues are the overhead lights in the roof and the plastic door I show in the video. Typically if it’s the lights you will see water damage or dampness in your headliner if it’s the carpet under there the only thing I’ve ever known it to be is that plastic door that I fix in the video. When it rains water pours directly down that area so if anything is getting by then it’s going straight to the carpet there
Now your carpets need shampoo, and a dehumidifier for the interior. You'll be back to normal. 👍 leaving it wet is not healthy and you and your family can get sick. Be safe brother. ✌
Where is the ac drain line so I can check to see if this may be part of the problem? My H2 leaks like a sieve! Already fixed the roof lights and sunroof tubes.
I’m actually not sure. My buddy had checked that who is a mechanic when it was in his shop. I’d bet money it’s the same issues as my video shows. It’s a direct chute right down in to the truck.
The water is coming in on the driver's side of mine. It is getting the carpet wet under the floor mats on the driver's side and in the back seat under the floor mat. The passenger side front and back is dry. It happens when it rains and when I go to the car wash especially when I get the underbody wash done.
I owned it for another two years after that video and no leaks. I’ve sold it since then but I’d assume it’s still holding up. That rubber stuff was thick.
Flex tape hasn't been too great for me. Used it to fix pipes in our basement due to water leaks, and it still leaks a bit. Not as bad tho, but still enough to get the floor wet. Maybe I just have bad luck with everything, but you might have little to no problems with leakage on your vehicle. Nah. I barely drive either one of them I only use the hummer for towing the boat because of its size. My next car is going to be a Tesla anyway so I’ll make up for it LOL
Ur terminology is killing me smalls. And the rest of us auto techs are cringing when u said pressure washer to engine bay. Star screws are known as torx screws. Friction tabs are plastic retainer pins. Water could also be getting in from ac evap drain pain, so ck whats referred to as the condensate drain. May need to blow that out carefully with some compressed air. Have a good one
The real sad part is I actually know all of that terminology but for some reason I get super tongue-tied as soon as I am in front of the camera :-( and I already checked the AC line that you mentioned that panel was definitely the source of the water.
This video saved me! No mechanic could figure out the problem. Charged me over $2K parts & labor, yet problem persisted. Thanks! This solved my issue

Ronan Barthon The H3 is the one to avoid unless it’s got a V8.
Hey
You do know you dont "pat" mold eh right???????????????????????????????????
Huh??
Not an H2!! Just get a Jeep man lol
I’ve got one of those too. Didn’t you see it in the background?
@@MikeyMoVlogs I did now 🤣.
I really only use the H2 for towing and a few road trips. It’s just such a beast it’s safe for the fam.
I have both and love both as well lol.
Its the same on my van brother. Thats why i mentioned it
FR, those screws are called torx screws, and buy an auto trim pry bar set, nothing like using the rights tools for the job!
Sell it, sell it.
Why
this aged well lol... hummer is worth more now
Ya no kidding. I went to buy another one and they were ridiculously priced AND half of them were in rough shape. I ended up buying a truck.
Nice but annoying music
Tyvm for this video same as well for my hummer h2 water issue
