    Hi Kyle
    Thank you for your video so I can adjust my durolux.
    Btw I have an issue, after I made my durolux become 150 mm there is some slightly little movement up&down on the stanchion & the lower and it can pull with my hand. Do you have any experience how to fix that issue?
    Thanks

    It was interesting that you release the air pressure after taking the lower legs off while Suntour's video guide us otherwise.. Was there any reason behind it?

    • @AprilRideMTB
      @AprilRideMTB  4 роки тому +2

      No not really any reason. You can do it either way. I am just trained to do it that way because I will regularly clean and lube my lowers during the race season and I just leave the air pressure in tact when i do that.

    The bike I just purchased came with a SR Suntour XCM HLO DS, 100mm Travel fork. The Suntour website says the fork has 80/100/120mm travel. Norco states that it has "100mm of adjustable travel". My question is, can I adjust my travel to 120mm, or is the 120mm version a completely different fork?

    Very helpful tut, thx!
    Kyle, I would appreciate it if you maybe could advise something on my matter- could it be that I somehow damage the rebound while unscrewing this rebound fixing nut (on the lower part), on my fork it was so tight - I've barely managed to unscrew it. And now for some reason lockout doesn't work and rebound also not good. The fork is new and I was doing zero ts right out of the box, so doesn't test it beforehand. And now I'm wondering - is it my fault, or maybe there is no oil in the rebound chamber... so is there any oil to begin with? How on earth could I broke something by unscrewing some external nut ...

    • @AprilRideMTB
      @AprilRideMTB  4 роки тому

      Dima Kustov man! That is a bummer, the only thing I could think is that maybe the oil needs to get recirculated in the damper so maybe just cycle it a few more times? I’m sure you’ve probably tried everything at this point but that’s all I can think of. Is it an 8mm style Allen or a 10mm wrench style bottom but?

    • @MegaMitrandir

    Wouldn't you know I would run into Kyle and April while trying to install and dial in my new Suntour suspension. Hi Kyle and April! 😁 I just received the new Durolux 36 and Triair shock after a long wait. Apparently the forks have been on backorder thanks to the COVID thing going on. Any suggestions or tips for getting the suspension super dialed and keeping it well maintained? My first experience with the new Pcs systems but long time user of Suntour product line. Any trick to the grease and air vent pipcocks or how and when to use them? Sounds like the making of another video maybe. I look forward to seeing April getting greasy. 😉 Appreciate your input. Later guys.

    My Aion says it can go from 150 to 140 or 160. I assume there is a spacer in there that I would remove to go to 160? Thanks for any info you can provide.

    Great work! So after that, I can replace the fork on the bike where is 150mm travel. Does the fork becomes "smaller"? Or you'll just bottom out the fork sooner?

    • @AprilRideMTB
      @AprilRideMTB  5 років тому

      When you install the travel reducing spacers it does shorten the axle to crown measurement. If you put 20mm of spacers in the fork will be 20mm shorter axle to crown height as well. So yeah it does become smaller

    • @AprilRideMTB
      @AprilRideMTB  4 роки тому +1

  • @isaaciwd
    @isaaciwd Рік тому

    Instead of reducing the the travel, why not just increase the pressure in the fork to run it at the correct sag for a 150mm fork? That way the extra travel would still be available in the event you were to use 150mm, but the fork would still behave like a 150mm fork otherwise. Am I missing something here? I don’t understand the purpose of decreasing the travel when you could just do this.

    Hey Kyle, I have a Suntour Auron 34 fork, have also seen another video doing the exact same as you, mine is 140mm and I want to increase it to 160mm! My concern is that i have read somewhere that their fork used to lose air and some weird mumbo jumbo, do I have any danger of having this issue? (imo this isnt a probability cause you dont mess with the air stuff you just remove two spacers and put it back on it has nothing to do with the piston assembly for example)
    here is the link: forums.mtbr.com/shocks-suspension/suntour-auron-trouble-after-travel-adjustment-1115219.html

    • @AprilRideMTB
      @AprilRideMTB  4 роки тому +1

      Yeah you should be fine, I would just remove the spacers, re assemble the negative spring assembly and then put like 10 psi in the air chamber. That piston has a designated seat for the travel rod and you will get it to kind of click into place when it’s centered. Chances are that person has it crooked and was pushing the piston at an angle

    • @FotisVoutsas
      @FotisVoutsas 4 роки тому

      @@AprilRideMTB hmmm ok I will try that, I will see if there are any in there, but the thing could be just because (if you read the first comment) from a 140 fork i increased it to a 160 so the same air pressure probably wouldnt support the 160 and it dives right back in... on the other hand I could see when my hand allows it to wear my gear and check for 20 to 30 percent sag as right now the fork feels too firm, yes 100-120 feels too much for enduro🤣🤣
      Havent messed with the volume spacers though, I only removed two chips from the left spring... maybe could check how much it sags with my weight around 90psi and move from there... its just that 90 psi would support 140mm but in the same setup a 160 would just not have enough air... idk I might be wrong
