    I am looking into doing a lower leg service on my Aion, though i am quite confused about whether i should add oil (which/how much?) into the lowers like on other forks, or not as it isnt mention anywhere. I'd be very greatful for any help/hints, thanks!

      Typically suntour uses no oil in their forks to make maintenance simpler. However, you can add 10 to 15ml of 3wt oil to each leg. Recommended brand is Maxima Plush Suspension Fluid. That goes for any of their air damper forks to improve performance.

    I have the epixon at 140mm as I figured due to me being a feather of a rider it is nice to have that much travel ideally I would've got the Aion but they only come tapered which doest fit my bike. But so far the Epixon is amazing quite comparable to solo air Reba in all aspects.

    the problem is the rc damper, some suntours (like durolux) come with serviceable cartridges and i really wanted to see how much oil does the compression part take, and if there is any hack to do it by eye (like for example rockshox mentions the oil height by saying "80-85mm from the top", sadly suntour doesnt make service manuals like that, even tho some of their fork are sorta pricey and were actually designed to compete with lyrik / fox 36...

    Well, while cleaning out the inside of the lower legs a small o-ring popped out (I think on the damper side). It is NOT the one that holds the bottom adjuster nut on, that's accounted for. Any ideas? I've been looking at exploded diagrams trying to figure it out (Epixon)

    • @EverydayBiking
      @EverydayBiking  3 роки тому

      That is strange. I would not expect a small o-ring inside the legs of the Epixon. Maybe someone serviced the fork in the past and put one inside for some reason. I would leave it out.

      @@EverydayBiking Hi thanks for helping out. But I did service it, basically changed the oil, put it back all together and works better than before! Have not seen that issue with the Epixon. Might be caused by a few things. Loose bolts on the fork bottom or the negative air spring moving around. If you have the issue I would suggest checking all fastners and making sure negative spring is well greased.
