    That was fun!!! What a cool job, not just the maze, but the entire property! That’s exactly why I studied horticulture and landscape management, so I could work on a property like this!       @@LHLgardenservices Hi Lee, I was indeed! I was employed rather than a contractor but run my own garden business. I'm still Helsby / Chester based but focusing on my own work now. Was at Foxhill 4 years and it's a great place with a nice team. Happy to answer any questions you have about the place! You look like you'll enjoy it and it deserves to be seen by a few more people!     That's some garden to maintain Lee, a maze of privet . Yew is manageable but privet heck !! The Forth rail bridge comes to mind 😌. Top job btw. 👏

    That's a nice little weekender you're looking after there, Lee. It's hardly surprising you're a bit sore after that mammoth job, but remember that old-time gardeners in stately homes used to carry a ball of red twine around with them for the purpose of not getting lost in the maze (red shows up the best against green backgrounds). Can't wait to see what other surprises you are able to show us (assuming the customer doesn't mind, of course). Fabulous job, as always.

    That was truly a-maze-ing Lee. What a massive challenge that required all your experience and expertise. Hope you found Sleeping Beauty in the middle. Perhaps you could use some coloured ribbons to tie to branches that are important junctions next time. Well done. Looking forward to the next video.

    OMG Lee this is the best laugh i have had in ages!!! when you were pulled back into the maize soooooo funny!! surprised you didnt hear me laughing in Liverpool!! But I know i shouldnt of but every time you got lost the tears were streaming down!!! sorry......... On a serious note though what a feather in your cap for getting this job, such a beautiful estate goodness your skills & expertise are going to truly show on any work you do there. The maize looks A MAZING!! (Sorry couldnt resist!!) no wonder your shoulders & arms were aching but worth all that pain when you achieve those results well done Lee..........(Who needs a garage!!)

    Next time, don't cut a patch at the front door, then as you cut hedges you will always see it sticking up above the cut hedges and know your way out.

    37:50 You finally found Wetherspoons lavatory and the cobweb-covered remains of punters who couldn't find their way back to the bar.
    Miraculously you get back to the bar because you snagged your jumper on the way in and it unravelled only to find a scally has minesweeped your pint and it has just passed last orders.

    Phenomenal job, Lee. I hope the owners will give you a map of the maze, for future reference!!! Like you said, once the various hedge areas that have sparse growth have been fed and the tops of some of the maze level out, with your maintenance; it will be FABULOUS!!!     Congratulations on the contract. A little surprised you have the time to take on something so sizeable. The maze, what a daunting job, well done. I`m not surprised your shoulders hurt the next day. Would highly recommend a Stihl HSA86 battery trimmer. Like you, i got into the habit of using my long reach trimmer for most things. I`ve found that going to something with less length is less tiring and faster on narrow jobs. The maze looked very narrow. Keep up the good work, Lee.

    Here's a tip for you Lee as you give us good tips, the gardeners here in an estate in Fife with a maze, use painter and decorators stilts to walk around it cutting the tops with 30inch stihl handheld hedgetrimmers.

      Often thought about plasterers stilts....but I think ill stick with my trusty long reach....😉

    When I do trimming like that I use my honda hr214 self propelled mower to pick up all the trimming . No mess to clean up by hand.
