Caught in a gunfight, Arthur (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) is given some advice from Eames (Tom Hardy).

Minor detail, but I love Joseph Gordon Levitt's handling of that rifle.
-Tight to the shoulder and good sight alignment
-Controlled shots on semi-auto
-Good trigger discipline in and out of cover
You don't see a lot of movies where the actors show good weapons familiarization.
But then he pops out into the same position in the doorway 3 times
The Fabrique National SCAR is a great rifle. I would use it if I needed something to fight back with. It shows that he knows his guns. Also, it can swap out the barrel and shroud for smaller sizes if in very crowded places. And the stock can fold in half. Maybe his character had a police/military background...

Kind of makes me wonder why they never "dreamed up" bullet proof vests for themselves since they dreampt up guns just fine.
I wish we could know what was possible and what wasn't in the dream world so we could see what they can come up with. If NOTHING is off limits, then why did they not dream up 5 or 6 robotic sentries with belt fed guns and grenade launchers to keep the enemies away?

Technically you don't even need a vest. If you're in a dream you can just pretend that enemy bullets vanish into thin air and never hit you.

But in the guy who is the dreamer is now covered and he can't see shit. So really anything goes at that point.
I am guessing they either wanted to stick to stuff they knew or wanted to make sure the dream is stable.

normally it's not a good idea because you're drawing attention to yourself and the projections will converge on you. Here the projections are already converging on you so all the gloves come off.
