  • Oviraptor is an incredibly misunderstood dinosaur. this small Theropod lived during the Late Cretaceous period, possessed a beaked snout ,a crest on its head used for display and was probably feathered too. its name Oviraptor, meaning "egg thief," was given when the holotype specimen was found near a nest of dinosaur eggs. It was originally believed that the oviraptor had stolen and was eating the eggs, but it was later found that the eggs belonged to the Oviraptor itself. Oviraptor was in fact brooding the eggs and consequently died protecting them. These dinosaurs were not sly, egg thieving carnivores, but complex Theropods with strong and loving parental instincts.

Wow, poor thing, to be condemned as a thief but really a loving and caring parent that died protecting it’s own eggs. Glad the truth finally came out.
