Hi! Congrats! Your journey definitely inspires me!! I am only 2 months in..w/ baby small locs!! I don't want to say micro bc I do hope they get a little bigger & Juicy! So far I luv my thin skinny babies! Thank you for sharing your journey! Simply amazing & beautiful! The affirmations & ALL... that!! You did that. I've seem so many videos & by far your journey was the best!! Once again TY & congratulations to you Sis! (Sorry so long) Stay blessed & beautiful 😊
I decided to start my locs two days ago after watching your videos and also decided to leave my domestic violence situation with my kids. Your words of aspiration really spoke to me and helped me get out of my situation and helped me to learn to love myself. We are now in an emergency shelter. Thank you for this video ❤️
Your courage and strength is what's so appreciated! I hope you and your kids find joy, love, happiness and security through this next stage of your life journey. I'm putting a stamp on it! Oh, and happy loc journey!
Strength be with you.. I just got out of DV relationship myself and it wasn't easy I'm still being affected but just know you did the right thing for you and your kids. I wish you the best!
You have such a beautiful energy. Seeing your hair bouncing from alopecia to healthy locs has wowed me. The resilience of your hair reflects your resilience and I'm here for it😍
I love your hair. I too said I didn’t want to loc my hair because it would be limited. The opposite is true. My locs have given me everything I have ever dreamed of in my hair.
" My love is my gift to the world". My dear beautiful sister😍☺💪, such strength and beauty in that statement. What a blessing that was to read. You are a true beautiful individual. Your hair is perfect.
You're hair is beautiful and so are you.. inside and out. Thank you for sharing those quotes. I needed to hear them today. We need more positive people like yourself in this world. Keep being the light💕
Thank you for being so inspirational. Your locks are beautiful just like you. I just started my journey and I’m looking forward to all it has in store for me. I am 3 weeks today and I also started with two strand twist. Stay blessed my sister.
Tearssssss Brava Sister Queen! I'm at the #babylocs stage having installed and uninstalled several loc journeys! You're an inspiration to stretch Myself past the beginning phase minus wigs or head coverings to just be Me!
What an amazing uplifting video, Im nearly 10 months loc'd and I feel inner peace and calm already, that's down to me not stressing about relaxers, wigs etc, I feel like I'm finally becoming free with my hair. new sub x
That was such a beautiful visual! Super creative, never seen any other loc journey video like yours. I not only learned a little bit more about my own community but also about the locs that adorn my own head. Thanks for this lovely video💛
Inspirational!!!! I also suffered from alopecia and have decide to grow locs starting with 2 stand twists. This made my day. Keep inspiring!!! Blessings
So there’s this thing I did with my hair….. it’s this! I haven’t found a video with the same length I started with after my 2nd big chop (3yrs+now). I’m not a “weave wearer” occasionally braids/ doobie on my natural texture hair. I’ve done perms prior to becoming natural about 10yrs ago (prior 2 da 2nd big chop). I love a short brush cut, however this time (at my age😂now). I thought to do something more drastic other then coloring/cutting…. loc my hair for the remainder of my life span. It took a while for me to allow my hair to grow from a brush cut to my natural textures (which I have 3 growth patterns). My hair is thick and coarse so da “bee da beez” part was unbecoming at 1st after being used to my longer hair styles. I never even thought when my hair was longer in its natural texture (doing my protective 2 strand twist/ twist outs) to loc my hair then. I’m super obsessed with this journey, and it’s a must to see it through. I said all that 2 say ty for sharing ya journey bcuz not only this a movement it’s a struggle within self. 🤲🏽🤌🏽😎✊🏽💅🏽💙🧘🏽♀️
Beautiful locs and such a lovely video. I’m 1 month into my loc journey and I’m excited to see the transformation throughout this journey. Mentally and emotionally it’s been extremely difficult for these past 4 months and I know everyone has felt the pandemic in different ways. Seeing the quotes and messages in the video was a great touch. Peace and blessings
WOW!! You’re transformation is beautiful, inspiring and made me smile the entire video. I just started my journey about 2 months ago and even though it’s taking sometime for me to 100% embrace the stage it’s at, I absolutely love the feeling of freedom and empowerment it gives. Thanks 😊
Great video. I am almost 1 year locd you did the journey so gracefully. O wore headrwraps a hot second now always ponytails.. Need to start just letting them down
Showing your beginning stages was very commendable... Your locs look nice. Let's see some styles . Go get it professional styles first check out some pictures. I am sure that you will look Amazing. I would love to see. I am at the baby stage ... I can't wait till they grow out more
Thank you! Honestly I don't do much to it anymore. Just a spritz with water and olive oil. Castor oil on the edges and maybe organic coconut oil before I wash.
I really get educator or journalist vibes😁 You did an amazing job of documenting your loc journey! Question- Did you palm roll or interlock in between? Thank you
I plan to do the very same in home of my late sister on June 19th if this month. Thank you for your beautiful video and your hair is lovely. Every step of the way. Did you do the twists yourself? Also, please how did you get the sides of your hair to come back so nicely? I’m having the same issue and they are fragile.
I did my own twists. I wore protective styles and used less products. Just kept it moisturized. I also used to use Dr. Miracles follicle healer but they stopped making it. Good luck on the new journey!
We should research a little deeper about where the term “dreadlocks” came from. It was not us that came up with that term. It was other races that came up with it. They thought they were dreadful so they called them “dreads”. But there is nothing dreadful about them. I only refer to them as “locs”, because that is all they are!💕
It's actually mentioned in the video the different names and it's religious meaning. I now prefer the term dreadlocks and will only use it to describe my hair moving forward. Thanks so much for watching!
Honestly, I don't know. I counted them a long time but I have many double headed dragons now. I'm sure it's at least 100. Thanks so much for the compliment and for watching!

It seems that the hair adapts after year two. The method really depends on your hair type but both work well!

When did you first shampoo your starter locs?
I believe it was around week 3. I used a stocking cap.
@@StormyHair Thank you so much!!!
Question what do you use to moisturize your hair?
Just a bit of oil here and there along with rose water. Sometimes I condition it before I wash but that's about it these days.
@@StormyHair Okay thanks I just got my hair twisted afew days ago thought I could just spray rose water on it and go

how many times did you have a retwist or you never had any ?
I initially retwist every month but eventually interlocked, but now I barely retwist and no more interlocking. Pretty much semi free forming now. 😏
You're a beautiful woman.
Thank u!
Beautiful!!
