  • It's been a few weeks since I uploaded my last video about my Lexus Certified Preowned where it seemed as though I was completely scammed and taken advantage of by a Lexus dealership. In this video I will take you through the rest of the story! It has been an interesting journey. I have to thank Lexus USA for helping me navigate the issues!

Very sorry you had to go through this, but I'm glad Lexus stepped in to help you out. I really appreciate all of your content on the 2010 RX 350. I have a 2013 and your videos on the hood strut replacement and wiper blade replacement, especially the rear wiper blade were extremely helpful.

Thank you! I'm happy how everything turned out. I've been driving the 2010 RX and I really enjoy the more manual and sporty feel vs the newer ones.

Thanks for making both videos! I’m a fan of the Lexus RX, and unfortunately dealers aren’t always on the up and up. Also, sometimes the sales department and service department aren’t always talking…..in the end, I’m happy to hear that Lexus corporate stepped in and glad everyone made it right. Enjoy the RX!

Thanks, that's exactly what happened, and I'm glad it was a happy ending! Now on to the next batch of videos!

My concern with the reflector air tag is that I suspect that any bike jacker with a bit of experience is going to know to rip that off pretty quick.

This comment is on a Lexus video but I suspect it was for my Powerfly video? I agree if it's someone experienced with stealing things, they probably have a checklist of things to look for, if you find a better way, let me know!

The ceramic coating - "we'll send you the stuff you were supposed to get (that you paid for & paid to have installed) so you can install it yourself." Wow! I know it's not their fault, it's the dealership, but that's absurd! Imagine another situation where you paid to have the spark plugs replaced & they weren't replaced. You spend $700 & they just hand you the box with them in it. I'd be livid.

LOL yeah I got the raw end of the deal on that, I think i'm lucky I got anything from the ceramic company to be honest, but the fact that they sent me so much of it, I will do all of my vehicles. Now I just hope it's a quality product hahah, I feel like the "Ceramic" term gets thrown around like marketing.

In 2017 I purchased a 2015 CPO RX350 from a local dealer which included a clear CARFAX report. In 2020, I was about to trade in the Lexus for a new Acura MDX and the dealer ran an Auto Check report and it disclosed a front end accident damage that had occured in 2016. The Carfax report was wrong and it cost me $$ on my trade in due to previous accident damage........Jeezuz.

MAN! I wonder if there's a loophole with Carfax because they only get information that is reported to them by the dealerships, and I wonder how much time it takes for that information to be updated. Since it was a 2016 and you purchased in 2017, the accident may have happened, they got it fixed, and immediately turned around and traded it in to the dealership.

Wow, a hassle no doubt, but it sounds like Lexus came through on all ends. They are an excellent company and any issues we've had with them were quickly addressed by our local dealer. Although you slightly got shafted by having to ceramic it yourself but who knows, it could be fun process and at least you'll know that it was done correctly. I'll be following.

I agree, the benefit was that I got enough material to probably do all my cars, but selfishly I wanted to do a video on ceramic coatings anyway. :-)

    What a scam

Don't really believe their explanations. 1) You don't check off the CPO items, unless you have verified each single item in the check list. That is borderline fraud. 2) You don't provide a certificate unless the person providing the certificate has verified the work. That is fraud.

Yeah, unfortunately it was just a mistake in checking things off before they were done. I honestly don't think they were trying to get away with anything, I think there was just a breakdown in processing.
