You are my reward for the end of my day 😊. I adore watching you do your repotting. You have the patience of a saint. Do more please. We learn sooo much.
Wow, you grew your AOS so big! I know that feeling when such an accomplishment leads to that plant turning into your favorite child ;-) nice! This was the perfect video to distract from some stress I felt today, thanks Melissa.
Anthuriums are the best!! I know the green escape is doing a promo where you buy 4 you get one free. 👀 I really love Burgal house and ecuagenera. Baby anthuriums are my favorite 🥹
Daaamn, that Ace of Spades is an absolute BEAST 🤩 I'll have to try out a tree fern based mix asap after seeing how happy that plant is! Great video, can't wait to see the anthurium shelf 🥺
Omg that huge plant is absolutely breathtaking. I'm patiently waiting for your tree feen fiber to go back up for sale. I only have three anthuriums so it would be silly to buy a huge one . Thank you for sharing 😊
I always upsize my Anthuriums they push out bigger leaves and are very happy that way. I would have probably put the Michelle in a 8 inch pot instead mine is huge already and need to upsize soon. Your big AOS is gorgeous and you will love them out with you so you can stair at them. It’s so mesmerizing! Sorry to hear about your ants getting so bad.
My guess is you will be watering every 6-7 days on your Pali and AOS. I don’t let them dry out I’ve actually started adding moss to the layering when repotting. They love that very rewarding to see them so happy. 😊
I used to add moss on top of mine I sorta forgot about that 😂. I think I moved all of those over to pon though so I stopped it. I don't water my dining area as often maybe once every 10ish days or so but I'm curious how they'll do there!
@ oh that will be very risky! The smaller pots will need more water frequently. I don’t think your aroid mix holds much moisture does it? I actually went to small pine bark, organic peat moss, tree fern fiber, charcoal and perlite mix for all my plants. They love it and it keeps me from wagering so often especially with the moss. I think they’ll love that location though with the window and less light!
Do you have a video of your aroid soil mix? I’ve never used tree fern and want to try . Love love LOVE your videos and plants (and kitties, obviously 😂)
Thank you! I don't plan on making a video on it just because I'm selling it now and it took me awhile to figure out how I like it. I shared my pon recipe and of course got comments about how I'm over charging people so I'd rather not share this 🥹 It's expensive to get all the ingredients I need to make it but you definitely don't need them all. The tree fern brand I use is the Fernwood brand. It's up there in price but it's a good quality one. www.amazon.com/dp/B07Y1KWCM4?linkCode=ssc&tag=onamzmeli0992-20&creativeASIN=B07Y1KWCM4&asc_item-id=amzn1.ideas.B6F3YIOPBQAN&ref_=aip_sf_list_spv_ofs_mixed_d_asin
@ I completely understand and I’m so sorry how some people are rude to you. I think you are precious and I want to purchase plants too. Everytime I go to the store site, they are already sold out. 😞🤣
Love that Ace of Spades! ❤ Do you have a video or post on your website of your new aroid mix with tree fern? I’ve been using it for many aroid plants and they LOVE it, but I feel mine is maybe too dense and curious what you add as yours looks so nice and chunky.
I’ve got one anthurium (the kind you generally find in grocery or big box stores with the bright red flowers. I watered it the other day and I need to get a deeper pot and a pot extenders for it. It’s really floppy I’ve also got a baby that suddenly appeared in the pot by the stem.
I love watching you repot, something about hearing that chuncky mixture is a pleasure to hear (ik im a little weird lol). the mixture that you use here to wash your plants, what kind of ration do you use? I have been also watching for you to restock your plants, i am always at work when the restock goes live, man your plants sell out fast! awesome for you sux for me lol im always late. I will get a plant soon I hope:)
thank you! I love hearing the chunky mix too haha 🫶 I just estimated on the soap and neem mix. Maybe a teaspoon of each. The alcohol I used maybe a tablespoon. It's been working okay but I just got some purecrop1 to try out. I'm still getting random mealies popping up so I wanna give it a go to see if it'll get rid of them.
Yes, they can definitely bleach with too much light. If the leaves get too close it’ll burn. I have accidentally done that a few times with some other plants 🙈
I've started to grow my Anthurium collection too. I am wondering, do people rotate them or is it better to leave them alone like a monstera? So far, I am rotating my anthuriums where if I see a new leaf emerging I face it towards the light where I end up with a leaf in every direction (like I do with my alocasia). Not sure if this is the best to do with my Anthuriums, since well, there is only one leaf facing the light source from the window. Thoughts?
I think it depends on what look you're going for. The leaves should turn to face the light source. For my monsteras they all face one direction towards a window so all the leaves face forward so I sorta want my anthuriums to do the same thing. I only rotate them if I see a new leaf emerging and I think it's going to get stuck or pushed up against another leaf or it might come in wonky 🙈
Anyone else have a hard time growing their anthurium vittarifolium or clarinervium in pon? Thinking of switching mine to coco chunks and perlite in self watering system
I’ve been using tap water that sits out for 24 hours before I use it in plants. You mean I can use straight tap water without leaving it for the chemicals to evaporate? Do you just water your calatheas with the same?
If I'm using my tap I usually add in my API stress coat but not all the time 🙈 If I'm repotting at the sink like today I'll usually do it just because my mix is so chunky so I feel like I waste a lot of my nutrient water. Most of the time I just water with my nutrients if I'm in my plant room watering :)
I talked about it more in depth in my pon care video. I have chapters so the nutrient part should be marked. I can link it here: ua-cam.com/video/DsjvG3VLWfk/v-deo.htmlsi=ishjg67ZIfJBtjwR
If you put the pots ina pot I’d water the ants won’t cross it. They can’t swim. I had to buy a hummingbird feeder with a “ant moat” on top of it. You hand the feeder and fill the moat with water and they can’t get to the outlets where the birds drink from. I was getting dead ends that columned onto the feeder and drowned
Surprisingly, I don't see them in the mix just in the sphagnum moss. It's so weird how they wanted to build on home in it lol. I would just dump the moss but the plant is so rooted. I've been flushing them in my bathtub so I'm hoping they're gone soon 😬
I’m going to get a label maker and start labeling the pots instead of using plant tags. They are so distracting. It’s just cleaner and neater looking. I’ve got white pots mostly so white or clear labels will work.
You are my reward for the end of my day 😊. I adore watching you do your repotting. You have the patience of a saint. Do more please. We learn sooo much.
So nice of you!! Thank you 🥹
Oh boy! Such a big leaf in a little pot, that AOS is a happy plant!!! 🙌💚 It’s beautiful 😍
Thank you so much! I hope it enjoyed the upsize and kinda excited for the next leaf 😍

This was a laid back video. Quite enjoyable.
Glad you enjoyed it 🙏
I saw that pot at Target and HAD to get it. Even though I don’t have room for more mugs 😂
Haha I had to buy it when I saw it there. I have way too many mugs as well lol 🫣
@ Lol I’m glad you knew I meant mug and not pot 😅 but I’d say plants and mugs (and cats) are great obsessions to have!

Beautiful AOS but my favorite is the Delta Force. It has been on my list for along time.
Thank you!! The delta force is such a beautiful anthurium! I'm excited to grow my little guy out and hopefully, you can get yours soon! 💕

Oh really?! I’ll definitely keep it then 😁
Hi Melissa!!! Omg please cross the Pallidiflorum with itself…I’m having a hard time finding this plant for an affordable price…
Question: when you rehab in stratum do you keep the cup completely submerged in water? Very wet? Or?
And where do you get the 6.7 pots?
Do anthiriums burn with grow lights?

Did you spray the moss poles with insecticidal soap in it. You need to use insecticide.
What is the aroid mix?

What makes you decide to pot an anthurium in pon vs aroid mix?
I’m watching your video to decompress from all he election stuff on tv. Things getting interrupted and taken over. So this is a treat for me.
Pls don't bring politics into this channel let us wnjoy plants without the bs
Can I see your nutrient mix also?
I talked about it more in depth in my pon care video. I have chapters so the nutrient part should be marked. I can link it here: ua-cam.com/video/DsjvG3VLWfk/v-deo.htmlsi=ishjg67ZIfJBtjwR
