My Wife Totaled the Malibu

Well, we started the new year off with a bang...from 8 air bags! I wasn't there. My wife and son went to see a movie and were returning home when some wing nut decided to brake check her, causing a collision, that sent them to the hospital and the car to salvage. They've fully recovered and we finally replaced the Malibu.

Thankful for airbag tech. Was broadsided in '87 by a drunk driver doing 50-55 MPH, no airbags then. Me putting the steering column through the windshield should give you an idea of the extent of my injuries. Oddly, the saving grace was that I didn't have my seatbelt on, or my pelvis would have been crushed. It is life changing and eye opening when something like this happens. Glad to see all recovered relatively quick. Sorry she didn't get a jeep. But that doesn't mean you can't put mad max safety gear on that buick.

Dang....I was involved in 2 accidents, 1st one was similar to your wife's. But the car in front of me, the driver decided to pick up his paycheck off the passenger floor board-- which he took his eyes off the fact that my truck was stopped at a red light..... We (ex-wife n I) were in a Chevy S10 pickup...both got wipslahed on the back window. The 2nd time around i was in a 3way accident, car behind me slammed into my car (again while parked at a red light), which made the car i was driving rear-ended the front car. Smashed like an according. No airbags were deployed! The guy who hit me drove off the scene. So yeah i feel ya both during that New Years crash...Glad to see you all are doing well!

ikr! every time I got into that car after her id cave my skull into the a pillar and jamb my hip into the steering wheel. I think I have permanent nerve damage as a result.

I got the call from my wife first. she told me she crashed the car. I asked her "where are you?" she said "I don't know." I replied "I cant help you then, call 911!" Then I hear my son in the background say "Thats what I said!" frustrating.

So glad your wife and kids are OK was a good wake up for all that's involved but the out come could have been so much worse . I drive trucks and farm equipment on the road and see so much people with so much hanger out there people just need to slow down chill out every one wants to get were there going so just let them past our don't push them along most will let you go. I tell you that if the law doesn't sort him I'd be doing it but I hope it's all good and there's some lessons learnt hope that you are all good it's a huge shock to you as well so just spend time together stay safe and keep rolling

Hey Rick! Quite an emotional video…I’m just so relieved that she and your son survived with minor injuries in the Malibu accident. Everything you stated is sooo true to fact…but, I had to laugh when, at the end, how you advised all women to “move your titties away from the air bag”.
