Jeep XJ cooling system maintainence

Finally doing some deferred maintenance on my cooling system because I have very little heat. However, some of the things that Im going to touch on in this episode are things to look for if your rig is overheating.

thanks for reminding me about changing out the cooliant fluid. I am not going to a retail auto shop to do that. I am going to do it the dzl-way. ! Also going to have to do my oil change as well. save money time...as cost of living ain't covering the high cost of living...woohoo $10 increase per month...anywho...happy to see a video update!

Hey Rick, what I have found is if you do a half and half mixture with distilled water and the green antifreeze, it will cut down on the corrosion a good bit.

Just an observation from a multiple XJ owner, the WJ fan clutch is not a great idea. It's much heavier than the XJ clutch, and it WILL cause premature water pump failure. The extra weight robs a little power, and affects mileage, but really not much. These things are not known to be very quiet, but MAN, that thing will sound like a school bus. ,Just replace the clutch with the right one. You probably won't see any difference in cooling.
