And refusing causes the Roaring. Maybe the Roaring doesn't happen because Kris can't stop it, but because the player/the soul isn't there to stop _them._ But that's just a theory. *_A GAME-_* But seriously, I don't think this is the case, but it just kinda came to mind.
Even better if you had lower than 10 HP going into the fight, meaning Susie and Lancer probably fed Kris and Ralsei's unconsious bodies Lancer cookies or something

The tense, panicky scene cuts out to instant darkness, and when I tell Gaster I'm not willing to go on, the mournful piano melody kicks in. I had imagined that the Darkners were shocked by the fact that they had suddenly killed a Lightner, and Susie and Ralsei started mourning, since the three of them had just started to grow together as friends. The energy instantly gives way to mourning before the timeline they're in, now doomed, begins to fade from existence.

Okay. Why does Noelle not have any dialogue when Kris dies compared to Susie/Ralsei? Why does the game gives us some agency in this Game Over state (by stating if we want to continue or give up)? Ralsei clearly says that dying is not "[Kris'] fate". As if Kris did not have any choice in this matter. This would be echoing to what Susie/the weird narrator in chapter one's intro said, as nobody can choose who they are in this world. But, this game over screen gives us some agency by giving us the choice to give up. It even depicts the consequences of said choice, as the world is being covered in darkness. Also, the name of the track playing during the showing of those consequences is "Darkness Falls". It is a funny double-entendre as "falls" could be from the verb "to fall" or from the noun "falls" (Like Niagara Falls). As we couldn't seal the fountains, they eventually ended up overflowing, thus causing them to become falls. Ralsei does not want the fountains to become unstoppable falls. The main difference between a fountain and falls is that a fountain is man-made whereas a fall is natural and made-up of several waterfalls. This all ties to the notion of the Genesis flood narrative, where a great flood swept across Earth to get rid of those who were impure. Could we infer that the Roaring is Deltarune's allegory for the Genesis flood narrative? Why does Ralsei wants to stop it, then, since it would, in theory, purge those who are impure? Is the Roaring why Ralsei wants us to recruit everyone so that they can all be in [player's name] town? So that they can be saved from the flood that will eventually come crashing down? Is [player's name] town an ark? So, by this logic, does Kris, by refusing his fate, doomed the world by letting most people in a flood? Will we have a Mother 3-like ending? Reading through all that, I sound like a madman. Well, too bad for me, I guess.
I know I know I made a mistake but I just haven’t focused on the dialogue so much. At least the dialogue where Alphys and Toriel talk about them. I’ll fix it right now.
They don't kill Kris and Ralsei, but DOWN them. Side Note: I'd like to imagine while Kris and Ralsei were unconcious, they rebuilt the thrash machine and then took their unconcious bodies back to their SAVE point.
