Ready to blow those calves up?
I ran through my top 3 calf exercises that you can easily do at home and get some serious results. The biggest takeaways are that you can really leverage your own bodyweight or put your calf in an extreme stretch position to really create an intense contraction.
Let me know what you think and what video you want next.

Love how he just gets straight to the point no bull crap
I love how your the 1302nd person to say that
For reals I stopped watch other people cause it’s all bs and the last 5 min is what you were looking for. This dude gets straight to the point and has good pointers! Seriously improved my gains listening to this man.
Truth
The deep squat calf raise is a killer. I just finished doing them and they worked my calf muscles better than any seated calf machine I have ever used. 👍👍
I love how you are just straight to the point and don’t try to drag videos out into 10mins or longer like other people.
Another great video brother. I’m 55 and have had leg injuries so I can’t do the first 2 but will definitely try the 3rd one. Thanks and keep them coming.
Calves are like the most elusive muscle. At least for me. Lol These are so different 🔥 Thanks again! Needed these. 💯
Gains On Camera Same
Same. Idk why but I see that soleus best works with training to failure
When you ride a bike you can get some nice calves
Personally the back muscles are my least trained ones, because I don't have a pull up bar
genetically, I must come from a millenia of Kenyan marathon runners...
Did it help gain size?
Omg holy Ryan, i asked you and you made a video, thx!
Thanks for another fantastic out of the gym workout tips video. I especially liked the concise and fully demonstrated tutorial style of the video to point out exactly how to do the exercises with the best targeted form. Thanks again Ryan; looking forward to your program.
This comment is not specific to this video. I just want to say I found your channel a few months ago and man, your emphasis on partials, angles, and contractions have added new dimensions to my working out. I love it and thank you. Keep rocking.
Awesome content as always. Ryan's content made a huge impact on me and made my workouts pretty less boring and cliché. I was wondering maybe there would also be a home exercise for fat burning. Would be really helpful. Keep up! 🤟🏻
Good day, I ll be watching your videos and used a lot of different technics of yours. Have been hitting a plateau for a while and your tricks help me a lot. I would like to see a video on what kind of HIIT we can do at home. Inside or outside. Thanks a lot! Keep the good work!
Holy crap bro I've been looking for a good calf workout for a while good thing I found you it looked so little but I didn't take into consideration to the body weight really takes a toll
I’ve been neglecting my calves during quarantine. This will help
Great Exercises Ryan! You the Man!!
Funny I saw this today, it’s leg day. I’ll incorporate these into my workout today. Thanks 💪🏼
Awesome! Thanks! Just what I needed. Rock on! 🤟🤟🤟
Keep up the good work man 💪🏿
simple, easy to remember, thanks!!
2:24 me with a completely straight face: "that is objectively the funniest thing I've ever heard."
Cheers fer this, glad ta see a good calf training video :)
This guys the best!
I always work on calves, but some of these were new to me. Thanks!!
Dude, these are legit!
Jesus! I got more burn doing these than anything I’ve done before! 10/10👍
I tried these and boy do they work!
Awesome
Ryan is inspiration 😝💪🏼
Awesome video 👌 great tips I've never seen before
Excellent advice 👍💪
Thanks for this. This really helped.
Excelentes formas de entrenar y congestionar las pantorrillas. Gracias por mostrarnos entrenamientos tecnicos y enfoques innovadores. Gracias.
Rye guy you are the Best!
Thanks, calves have always been a hard gainer, love the one liners ha ha !
Great... just did my dumbbell leg workout yesterday.. might as well add to my crippling pain
Thanks for the awesome videos I love your fresh approach. What brand are your black camo shorts, they’re awesome
Excellent video!
Subbed and clicked all notifications. May I ask how many reps and sets should i be doing these for?
Same question with regards to both home workout for glutes.
Thank you for the great vids!
Going to do these, gyms are shutting in England again. So thank
The squatted calf raise hits the outer portion of the calves insanely. They've made my calves look very muscular from the front view.
For the inner calf, do them on a step with a slightly wider than shoulder stance, knees locked.
Approximately how many reps, or how many times per week did you do this?
Every single day 200 reps @@avibhatt2013
I definitely need to improve my calf and ankle flexibility. But dang, Ryan's flexibility and balance is pretty good for his size.
Thanks Ryan, I was looking for other excercises for claves, u fucking rock man. Also the glutes excercises are killing me man hahah, thanks again
Thank you, sir.
Thank you for this quick, good, no-bs video 🫡
cool man cheers from mexico .. WE love your vids
squatting down like that really stretches them out I never thought about repetitions from that position. Also it's good to stretch the calf's on day you aren't working them. I like to use a lat machine by running the cable down and up via the lower wheel and using a small straight tricep bar placed on the knees along with a pillow of course. I then place my feet on the pegs while sitting on a bench that can be height adjusted and do my raises like that at different height levels on the bench. I've gotten some really good pumps/results with this approach.
For some of you who just can't seem to get those calf's growing no matter what a little pump and pose doesn't hurt just please don't over do that stuff!
Thanks Ryan Could you do a lower chest or lat video?
Could you do more workouts that work on calves? I’ve been trying so hard forever and I’ve had minimal growth
Yes Ryan
Thank you top man! 👍
exactly what I need. let's go
Good one!💪
WONDERFUL. CONCISE. 🎯
Enjoyed destroying my calves + a copy of 'fifty shades' with this one, made a killer primer for full leg sets. 'Proof that a few quality inches can take a lady miles'..can't wait for the next video!
Great stuff
Thank you!!
I have monster calves and I never work them. The first calf workout from Ryan I strained the shit out of my right calf and was limping the next day. Best calf workout ever.
GOD BLESS YOU!!!!
Those were Awesome and just in time cause because I have only been doing tippy toes.
Seriously how do you not have more views? It's an absolute travesty, videos lean, exercises are mean, am following your advice to the T and I am an absolute machine. Insha'Allah your voice reaches the masses. Dude make some t shirts "Get after it, Get growing" I'd happily wear that sh*t to the gym.
And to everyone else that has the good sense to follow this man's great advice, stay safe, continue growing and God willing we all get through this with minimal casualties. Ameen
Hey Ryan thanks for such great exercises, pls do suggest no. Of reps and sets with all exercises thanks .
Can we get another calisthenics-based/extension required calf raise video on growth itself?
Why does body weight exercises seem more painful or harder than doing weights / resistance?
Depends. Not all
No cheating
Because your body is the weight and it's unstable, so you have to balance it - making the exercise so much harder than using barbells/dumbbells or machines which are pre-balanced.
Bcoz it engages ur almost all muscle groups
Better mind-muscle connection.
Hey Rayan, I just have two pairs of small dumbbells and tow 10 kg plates and I really struggling to train my traps. Can you please make a video on that.
Greetings from middle east ❤
The last exercise is the hardest you just start losing balance and start trembling 😤🤜
Great video
Can you make a video or give advice on strengthing adductors and abductors? I'm trying to heal from this groin strain
Nice, thanks
That just goes to show the role of genetics. Ive never even thought about putting my foot on a book at all different angles to hit the muscle group nor do i do much for them. I would throw you under the bus in calf game though(thats about it ha). Love your content though short and to the point.
Great video! Need more calf without weights videos please!!!!!!
Yessss
I used to do that first exercise explosively when I trained martial arts. PAAAAIIIIIN!
keep your videos under 3 minutes and I will watch and like them all.
Ryan,
What sports did you play growing up, if any? You seem very athletic. Also, do you run for cardio?
"Than...you're wrong."
Love this guy
Can you do a video on nutrition please ☺
loved it
I'm starting to prefer unilateral training. I really like the Soleus lunge calf raise Ryan does here! It is a bit difficult to see, but is the trailing leg supposed to be off the ground for the duration of the set? I'm going to start doing this exercise on a regular basis and see how it works for me. I'm getting tired of doing seated calf exercises with dumbbells!....LOL.
amazing
These are dope
That last one looked brutal.
I do a lot of jump ropes (double unders) so my caves are strong.
I can’t seem to grow my biceps though.
Chin ups
My calves love you. In the love/hate kinda way. Thanks brah.
I reached rep 3 on the first one. MOTHER OF ALL CALF CRAMPS🔥
Also, perfect timing! Leg day later's gonna be lit!
do you prefer to work out barefoot or in gym shoes? I wouldn't go barefoot in a public gym of course but see a lot of guys exercising barefoot. My ankles are tight and everyone does vids about everything else other than ankles and wrists which in my opinion is 2 of the most critical parts of the body that need development in order to better ones form when exercising. Can you do a mobility or vid about ankles, wrists and other joints that would help? No one has put anything out latley that is helpful and once all these gyms reopen, its gonna get real and I want to make sure my bodies joints are ready for the beating I'm going to give it! My home gym is nice but my gym has amazing machines that my body hasn't been around in just over 2 months so Im preparing to be exhausted and getting mentally ready for the pain that most of us love! Makes me feel alive and I crave that pain! Thanks man, you're the best literally!!!
Very innovative..
Having trouble growing my legs at 6’4 so I’m going to use this !! Thanks
Anything??
Anything??
Bro just left us hanging like that and never returned
so cool
Finally!!!! In the comment section ,we didn't hear someone complaining , you would show this video now, I just did calves!! Or arms. Or chest. Or. LMAO everytime!!
Very nice
Can you do some exercises about flexibility? I'm the only one in my family that isn't flexible
🔥
The calf raise in deep squat feels like a blood flow restriction calf raise. It gives a massive pump and so much pain!
That sounds so bdsm
@@hiteshdas1008 pretty much lol
I used to be one of those people that thought the only body weight movement for calves was straight leg calf raises...Used to be.
Woow, i do,it this, te amo!!!
"Every women gonna tell you the same thing its not about the books its about couple of inches"🤭😅
man, this is so gonna hurt... Let's go!!! lols
Nice video
Now I can take leg day one part at a time
It seems like the achilles tendons are being used to its maximum capacity. Cringing a little bit. 😬
Btw, thanks for all the helpful tips Mr. RH! 💪👊✌
Hi Ryan. Love your content and your training mentallity.
I'm 50 years old.
I have a question about training forearms and calves.
I started to train my forearms again. I train them everyday and I love it. Is it okay to train them everyday?
I didn't really feel my calves using machines and weights. So your body weight calves video inspired me to train them with only body weigth using steps of the stairs. I have a good mind muscle connection now and really feel them now. Is it okay to train them everyday and/or when they are still sore?
Greetings from Amsterdam
yes it is fine as long as you have a rest day once a week :)
Do these and Preston Noble,s workout and watch em grow, slowly.
The alternative is keep dreaming.
Today i screamed out loud God help me my calves are small. Now i found this. It's great because i still have to wait 2 weeks for gyms to open
Did you managed to make them grow?
I use to do Smith machine squats, 135lb, up on me toes the entire time....high reps
Does this work practically for growth or just for time being in quarantine? 🤔
