You can just put a nut and washer on the back of the screw you put silicone on. That way you can tighten the screw up
Yea I didn’t have any to do it, so that’s why I went with silicone I didn’t add enough so it will come off very easily

Fender washers would work
If You want to get Fanse You can go to ACE Hardware and get Chrome or Stainless Steel Allen or Torxs Bolts to use with those brackets Don't silicone those other holes with the Bolt just use a Bolt and Nut and Washer on the back
I thought about going to buy some bolt and nuts for the others but just wanted to finish the little project. That’s a good idea also on the stainless steel bolts. My idea was to get some spike covers for them. I will be going to the chrome shop to look for some

Glad you have it fixed.. I have a idea for you instead of using the screws get dash screws with the jewel on the end you can secure it the same way and also put the dash screws in the open holes just to dress it up. I enjoy watching your videos and be same
I wanted to do that. But went this route to make sure the drill would tighten everything up. But I will still continue to look for another dash, once I do that I want to buy the screws with the red jewels on

Same for me. I used drywall anchors with Phillips head, colored the heads with a black marker to look like the factory screws

I paint stripped my dash on my 04 w900, it did it’s job but it turned white so I ended up having to paint it black but it came out looking original. What you probably could do is with a steamer you might be able to peel the paint off.

I wanted to use those bro, but can’t use a drill if I went with those, and the tighter the better that’s why I went with this. You know the trucks jump and vibrate a good amount so don’t want nothing to come loose with time

Hey would you mind telling me where you got your purple lights from? I love that purple. I am having problems finding the right color purple but that is it. Also, love the vid. I have an FLD120 that I am going to use that trick on for the dash. I saw something like that a while back but just never got around to doing it, but I have broken a couple more off so now is the time. Also, with the exterior lights, can they be changed over to DOT yellow and red lights or are they just purple full time? I run alot around PA and NY and they would love to pull me over if they see that. Thanks
They are sold by trux. Many chrome shops carry that brand lights and yes they are dual color either red or amber to purple

hey whatever works, cheaper solution but it keeps the dash in and you really would not know unless u saw it. Looks good to me, keep the videos coming, enjoy watching them. Sometimes you just have to think outside the box and not be bothered with what other people think, there are always people that are going think there better or know better.
To fix the paint I would try sanding very lightly and then wiping with a vamp rag and keep doin that process

I realize your video is 2 years old but it just showed up on my feed today. I drive a T800 as well, but mine's a roll off truck. I also have the window drops and the deep visor just like yours and it's "polished" like yours. If you want to cut down the glare and reflections inside the cab, pull them off and paint (or plasti-dip) just the inside a flat black. It made a world of difference inside my truck.

If you get a second dash. You should fleece wrap the old one and the rest of the interior panels. Thats what i did. I bought a second dash to fleece wrap and paint so i dont have to ride with no dash. And at the same time gunna do the other interior panels.
I Definetly still need another dash so will continue to look for one
@@Grtruckingdemolitionllc i mean if your dash is that beat. Fleece wrapping will fix it. But then you'll be without a dash for a while cause it's not a quick process. But definitely better than just painting parts. When you fiberglass fleece vs just paint. It comes out smooth and professional vs seeing the original texture of the dash through the paint.

Question. On downshifts, I can downshift really well 10-6. I go to 10 and raise the rpm to 12 and float it in. I'm struggling with 4-1. I try to downshift at 10 and give very little rpm to downshift low gears and they grind. I usually stay in 5th and reset. But want to know the problem. Gears 1-4 are very low gears and low speeds so I'm assuming 10 rpms is still too high for these gears and you prob suggest for rpms to drop lower like around 800 since the lower the gear the closer to engine idle and lower the rpm to rev into lower gear? Is that the solution? Or if not how so?
Normally for the low gears I don’t even have to rev the truck much just tap it very slightly and it will go straight in. I normally downshift to 5th gear and after that just throw it in neutral
