Good stuff! Except I never let my truck idle at 700, I always try and high idle around 950 rpm ish to keep somewhat of a load on the engine at all times. Uses a little more fuel but a bit healthier I find, plus a 3406E 15.8L sounds so good at 950 rpm with 8 inch stacks lol.
@@redblock5949 that's way too low lol mine regular idles at 700 but I just always idle up when I'm parked, helps keep a load on it at all times. U r right and wrong. It is good to idle higher but mainly for the oil pressure.. there is no load on an idling engine.. but that good oil pressure will save u some wear and tear.. other than that, not idling at all is even better

Love those Cat engines! I did flat deck Super B trailers all last year, and we had to strap (or chain) our own loads. Nice shifting by the way. Not everyone can shift smooth like that. This is why they have auto shift trucks these days. Nobody wants to learn proper shifting, and companies don't want to take the time to teach people who are reluctant to learn. They get tired of destroyed transmissions and engines. Real truckers are becoming more and more rare. Those Jakes are very nice!

Beautiful truck engine sounds really good, the jakes sound strong, that's a good jag on the trailer too. I worked on trucks and trailers for 26 odd years, pretty much all the maintenance in the small fleet was done by me, the trucks worked about 85 miles away from the shop, so I've done a little driving also. One thing I would do after I heard the 5th wheel close, I would not put up landing gear up or hook up the pigtail and gladhands until i gave the hook on the 5th wheel a couple of jerks to make sure it was latched securely before I hooked up pigtail or glad hands and cranked up the landing gear. I have seen drivers not check that the hook was good and solid and drop the loaded or empty trailer on the ground stretching the lines to the gladhands and tearing up the pigtail. It vs very hard to get the trailer off the ground once it is there. I have watched this happen, not good, I always gave the hook a couple of good jerks to make sure, and wanted the drivers to do the same thing, just something I noticed, be safe out there, people drive like their crazy or got their license from a Cracker Jack Box, just saying, peace out.

Hey Justin, just came across this video. Nice looking truck love the blue and all the lights. Just a suggestion for the flatbed look into getting a winch winder those things help so much getting it rolled up. Keep it rollin!
Justin. Ran into one of your trucks in monaca pa on Wednesday, he was loading coal. Very nice unit. A little bit heavy, but very nice. I told him I'd tell you he drove it with kid gloves!
That is definitely a nice truck, a little word to the wise when you shut the truck off and when you turn it on if you push a clutch in it's a lot easier on your engine and transmission. Nice job keep up the good work.
And in my 48 years of driving I've had shop people tell me to never touch the clutch when starting or shutting off. It destroys the release bearing they say. So I listen to them and never had any issues. What makes me cringe is when green (or experienced!) drivers shut the engine down at fast idle. Guys that over rev cold engines drive me crazy too, and I call them on it. Keep it at idle for a few minutes, and start off in low gear at idle. What's the rush driving on the lot?! I tell these guys to stop being mean to nice engines.
Pushing the clutch in on startup/ shutdown doesn’t do anything other than wear the clutch components if you start the truck in hiérralo which is what everyone does it only spins the input shaft which put virtually no load on the engine if I’m not mistaken
Beautiful truck. I'm in my first year of trucking so sad to know by the time I retire manuals might be gone completely. I was trained on 10 and 13 speeds and grew to love and prefer them over a clunky auto shifting when it shouldn't
Love that steering wheel very premium you could put 100 straps on that load and there is still a lot to go wrong even if you gave me a bonus I would not pull that load and a proper pretrip & post trip takes 45 min to a full hour to perform properly
I'm a flatbeder one thing notice is you didn't put a twist in the straps for tighter securement and keep them from flapping so your straps last longer I put a twist in them even if the load 4ft off the deck
your shifting is smooth as butter man. keep up the great work. i'm 24 been trucking a year and a half. have a great job but my dream is to drive a rig like this, i just can't convice myself to leave just for a super cool truck, although it is my dream. decisions.

That’s how I do it too, but I had no idea it’s better. Well good to know I’ve been doing it right😅
Pushing the clutch in on startup/ shutdown doesn’t do anything other than wear the clutch components if you start the truck in hiérralo which is what everyone does it only spins the input shaft which put virtually no load on the engine if I’m not mistaken
Live this, brother get a strap winder to match the truck! 👍🏽👍🏽
Beautiful truck. I'm in my first year of trucking so sad to know by the time I retire manuals might be gone completely. I was trained on 10 and 13 speeds and grew to love and prefer them over a clunky auto shifting when it shouldn't
Sweet looking tractor. Lot pride. Keep up great work!
Thankyou
She looks brand new !!! Just say'n!!! I no this is old but i love KW'S!!! JUST SAY'N !!!!😊🎉❤
Love that steering wheel very premium you could put 100 straps on that load and there is still a lot to go wrong even if you gave me a bonus I would not pull that load and a proper pretrip & post trip takes 45 min to a full hour to perform properly
I have no idea how a truck works but this is cool
I also have a 2001 W900 86 inch studio sleeper I redid everything I’m into it for over 140 right now
I'm a flatbeder one thing notice is you didn't put a twist in the straps for tighter securement and keep them from flapping so your straps last longer I put a twist in them even if the load 4ft off the deck
That’s interesting, I’ve never thought of it like that. I always assumed dot wouldn’t like seeing a twist
There no laws that says you can't twist the straps when securing your loads
Those CAT’s are great engines. My dad’s W900 has an ‘01 C15 ACERT and it’s a decent engines, currently has 1,600,000 Miles.
Gave a like before even watching the full video. Gave one just for how clean he keeps that truck she is beautiful!!
Thankyou
The 5th strap had a cut, didn't you said you were checking for that too. Beautiful truck grat video
Yes good catch. …. That ones replaced
Wow man beautiful! If your a Kenworth guy this is the truck you want😎👌👍
Sure is!
your shifting is smooth as butter man. keep up the great work. i'm 24 been trucking a year and a half. have a great job but my dream is to drive a rig like this, i just can't convice myself to leave just for a super cool truck, although it is my dream. decisions.

Beautiful color and truck- Thanks for sharing.
Thankyou
Good 👍Stuff
Have a Great Day 👍
God Bless you and Flint Creek
God Bless America 🇺🇸
Think about putting your Go-Pro above the visor on top of the cab while moving down the road to get a better road perspective!
you do it all !!!!!!!!!much love............
Your W900 would've looked good in the Kenworth Parade in Chillicothe Ohio recently along with the factory tour. You got that baby purring down the highway and it's quiet. Sounds better than the plastic choking junk on the road.
Yea. I wish I could have gone. Just my summer is way to busy already !!
Relaxing and enjoying another one of your videos as well as learning a lot. Really like how talk about your work. I just started flat bedding.
Great to hear !!! Best of luck
Man I bought a peterbilt 379 exhd last year and I sold it this year. I always watched your videos and loved driving my truck. Your trucks made me want to fix my truck up. Unfortunately I wasn’t making any money. I should have stuck with it but I had no recourses around me to help me out and be successful. Man I love your trucks tho!!!
👌🏽 Thankyou !!!
You got some nice toys bro. Never owned a cat or Detroit. Out of the 11 I've purchased all used everyone was Cummings power. Not by choice just everyone I liked a could afford just happened to be Cummings powered.
Watching from Australia, you drive so smoothly.,!!!
Got damn I just love those flat glass kenworth w900. Nice ride
OMG 😳 my dream truck in the perfect color 💕💕💕💕😍😍👍🏾💕💕💕 crazy about a kw in 💙 blue
Have a special tool for those straps when you want to finish rolling it up they had a truck stop
That rig is fantastic I have a 96 Kenworth W900 flat glass dump truck B model CAT 425HP awesome looking rig
Nice !!!! 👌🏽
@@flintcreektransport yessir love the oldschool Kenworths I may still take the brand new older Kenworths today they still look good! Aside from the damn DEF tank and all that wiring and emissions BS, I don’t mind the Cummins X15 engines they are decent.
I can’t stand the Paccar the DD series Detroits are pretty nice.
My previous job has a rotator wrecker with a X15 Cummins 550HP manual transmission 18 speed. 50 ton truck. 2016 389 Peterbilt. Liked running it.
Other wrecker was a 2005 Kenworth W900L that previously was a large heavy haul rig had lift axle frame was long because of it. It became the first rotator threw a ‘17 75 ton century rotator body on that truck. C15 CAT making over 700HP in that truck thing was a monster oldschool rig new school towing apparatus thrown on it. Run the remote control move the boom around all the coal came out the stacks I miss that truck I drove it and their 2001 W900L lowboy rig 3406E CAT that had or a 6NZ I think. They got some sweet rigs I miss that job but it’s too much on me the hours and back breaking work I had enough of in my teen years I want to go home and relax for once. I stay local with my business and mainly we are on the road we do construction work when jobs are available for now we have dump trucks and flatbeds. Trucking until I buy more shit lol gotta rack up the funds big.
Nice unit. But cat doesn’t run Jacob brakes. A 2EQ or 6NZ is the engine you want
Man this is such a cool truck I love those oldschool lookin machines! Hope we can enjoy em for a loooooonggg time guys !
Thankyou !!!
this is why I watch all ones you put on here have a blessed and very safe day think you sir

I just found your channel and I have to say, I’m not a trucker but I love semi’s. Your truck is absolutely beautiful. One of the nicest trucks on UA-cam for sure. How much time is spent keeping it clean?
Not enough time lol !!!
You've got a very iconic fleet brother
Learned a little bit but some knowledge is better than none

Sir . I like your video safety is really good and very important have you have a very beautiful truck nice and clean I'm from Colorado and I work for my father Greeley Colorado At Johnnie's Paint & Body Shop he work for Colorado Kenworth in Denver from 1 1961 April of 71 that's when he establishes Johnnie's Paint Body Shop in April of 71 we were the first one a good heavy Collision I seen a lot of wrecked trucks went through our shop daily with nice paint job close the shop a 2006 because another truck for getting harder to work on there are computerized I like the way you took your time to explain safety check that is the A+ 100% very accurate I just recently lost a friend because a oil rig worker it's time to check his load due to his negligence the pipe fell off the trailer at 60 miles an hour as he was passing my friend the pipe went over the hood and right through the windshield of the Explorer he was driving Easter morning 2021 is on his way go pick up his grandkids and take them to church for Easter morning but you never made it my friend on the country road but the oil rig truck kept going didn't didn't stop he kept driving as suffering on the road for 2
In till the next passing by and call 911 and he was alive with the oil pipe was in face the paramedic helicopter took him to 2 hospital from Greeley to Denver and we didn't make it it was that situation are you highly recommend and I recognized for the very first time your safety check video and when you can detail to detail how to operate a semi truck I could park how you thank you for taking your time to explain how to operate a truck I know some of these big companies they had a lot of young guys that can drive but over look the safety check 😮 and it takes a real gentleman and very excellent truck driver like you to take time and explained the safety procedures on how to operate a truck. I want to tell (((YOU THANK SIR))) for a wonderful video on safety God bless you and your company🙌🙌🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻💯💯💯💯💯🤝💯%
A PERFECT VIDEO YOU HAVE HERE SIR GENTLEMAN 🙌🏻 👏🏼 👍🎩🤝🤝🤝🤩 Johnnie Jr
Please e excuse my voice texting sometimes it never comes out the same ibuprofen and got diagnosed with vertigo and sometimes I can't get the keypad in the computer I apologize but didn't come out the same😂
Thankyou for sharing !!! That’s sad about your friend
There's nothing like the sound of a straight piped big truck pulling a steep grade!! There's just something about that diesel engine at full power and full boost. Do you have anymore videos of pulling steep grades?
Not really but I’ll have more coming
Great looking truck, nice video, you seem to be very professional about your job, thanks for the walk around and the ride along. I just found your channel and now you have a new subscriber, not a trucker just love the big rigs. Thanks again for the video.
Thankyou !!!!
Cool that you showed pre trip check
That's a beautiful truck worth every penny
As it was a 99 truck should be a 2EQ. Tuned up easy 700hp. Would be a great rig. 2250 torque
Nice rig.... I have always wondered why the turbo's come on under Jakey Brakey... anyone know the answer?
