Yes indeed! Even though their previous albums & the one that followed rightfully earned a massive respect from those who 'get' music, IMHO "New Gold Dream" struck the PERFECT balance of all that makes an album great. It featured artful maturity & vision, creativity, superb songwriting, excellent performances by all band members (.i.e true masters of their craft), band & album cohesiveness, lyrical journeys & inspiration, awesome engineering/recording/production, and plenty of memorable 'earworms'! FYI, I was in university at the time, I did a ton of partying in bars & clubs & did some D.J.-ing too...and I can attest to the fact that New Gold Dream stood out from & sat far above 'the noise' of the overcrowded airwaves & MuchMusic/MTV/etc.

The lyrics and music are mysterious but they do something to me that I want music to do to me, I go into another world with sadness and joy mixed together, amazing they can play a sophisticated song like this live live all these years later °•●○,☆♡
