Looking back at my teens…this track alone was so eclectic compared with anything else at the time but just so unusual, everything about it - the rhythm, lyrics, chords - but it all works ❤

God this sounds fantastic. I didn't think they still had it in them to reach back and do these great songs such sublime justice.
Dialling down the overblown stuff gives everyone so much more space to breathe. The drums and bass pin and swing and the guitars and keys flow. I might have to go and see them if they sound like this live.
Now do Sons and Fascination/Sister Feeling Call.
Theme for great cities, League of nation, seeing out the angel, sound in 70 cities etc. all deserve this treament.

    Jim's voice is really bad.
I can't listen to him anymore.

Reality: With very few exceptions, the constant recording & touring in the rock/pop world, along with the inevitable consequences of ageing, do take their toll on the power, endurance & range of the human voice. Jim has been at it for almost 50 friggin years, so, it's no surprise that he doesn't have the voice he used to have,..however, describing it as "bad" is excessively critical. And I have to ask...is there anything to be accomplished by your comment? I would suggest that the answer is no, unless you own a time machine & magic elexir to offer Jim. At the end of the day, you'd be best to accept that 'it is what it is' ...and, you want to hear young Jim Kerr, then there are plenty of albums, DVD/BluRay concerts & YT videos to enjoy. Cheers.
