Should definitely do one that all creators in the fandom love, not just some random that isn't really experienced. I've seen people always talk to the weirder side (mursuit, nsfw art, Lycanthropy, etc.) And it always make the cooler side of the fandom seem like it's not there. I support that people cover the bad topics and call out people, just I do not like the hate we all receive because of it. Like I make furry cosplay pieces like ears, tails, etc. And I've been called a lot of vulgar and bad things for no reason 😐
I was genuinely confused about the whole school litterbox thing, to hear it was because an insane parent _asked_ for it is actually shocking, but somehow not surprising. A lot of weird folks out there. I'll be honest tho, anyone who thinks being a furry is about gender is just off the mark; while some make being a furry their entire identity, most aren't so serious about it.

As a furry, I could probably tell you one thing that is not happening in mass at conventions and that's sex in fursuits. Not saying it hasn't happened but you're dropping almost 2k on a fursuit and any kind of strenuous activity would kill you with heat exhaustion. Not to mention ruin a 2k suit. My average time at a convention is spent hanging out with strangers that are like minded, sometimes I go into the board game room, plus there are a lot of pretty awesome panels that go on and even one that taught about bee keeping.
Exactly the sexual thing does of course happen but that happens with every community and even so its not even 3% of furies that do so . We all just chill and try to makes friends and have lots of fun.

@@TheBaseballking23 Well the baseline for being a furry is simply having an interest in media that contains anthropomorphic animals/non-human species. The community is pretty well known for its extremely good artists, like some of the art pieces that come out of the community are extremely good. However you don't need to be an artist to be a part of the community, nor do you need an original character of your own, which the community calls fursonas. At the end of the day it is simply a hobby, the vast majority of the community are pretty much regular people, and those that own fursuits are a small minority due to their cost if one where to commission it.
There should be a convention where furries and gamers come together and have a massive nerf war reminiscent of the gamer wars that use to rage online. Edit: Maybe I'll actually try and put something together. I live in Florida though so thats probably where it would be at. Maybe we could just ambush a war in during Megacon this year?

The minute you said you were going for a UFC event and you were talking about furries I knew you were going to say you were in Pittsburgh. The 1st time I visited a guy I was dating in 2013 it was during the furry convention. He told me about it but I never saw one. Fast forward 9 years and I now live in Pittsburgh and I was out with my kids sightseeing and we saw one. My 13 year old son was shocked. Lol!
I have a work mate who is an austisic, pansexual, transgender artist who likes to draw herself as her character which is a baby wolf. What I have learnt is that her particular flavour of furry ideology is based on innocence and creativity. She's had a hard life but we accept and support her. I might interview her myself on yt.

Most furries just like to troll and make fun of themselves. do some furries do weird shit in public like that, yes, is it ALL furries, heck no. Its a very small subset of the community that gets the most attention because its the most outlandish~
I must say as a furry. It's not a complete kink thing a lot of people are into it Purley because it looks cute and the people are nicer then other communities, it's just a group of people that you can chill with and talk about shit like Robin hood or zootopia. But there is indeed a larged minority of the sexual side.

Simply the amount of sexual stuff associated with furries makes it almost impossible for it not to be the majority. (Also look through the follows of any furry on twitter, all of them follow a buncha 18+ stuff)
Most of us don't own suits... and no not all of us are insane (not to say that there aren't some ridiculously batshit crazy people...there are are more prevalent within the fandom than in average people). Some things I'll gloss over: controversies, amino, subsect cultures (Google Nazi furs for a little taste, but by no means do they represent the whole community), etc. Fair warning there is a reason I say ex-furry (45-50% of the fandom) SFW art furries: people who enjoy the art, maybe the do some roleplay in private chatrooms, type cringey things in public chatrooms I.E. uwu, murr, hehe~, *nuzzles*, *pounces*, x3 (to those who think that's familiar there's a reason they were in the copy pasta), maybe experiment with headband ears or make-up, no fursuits... yet Overall: harmless, weirdos, and social outcasts, but not really different from your average internet user (15-20% of the fandom) NSFW art furries: weirdo territory really begins, enjoy the porn, escalate their rp to be sexual, type cringey or sexual things in public chatrooms, know wayyyyy too much about animal anatomy, start buying certain toys, maybe a tail buttplug to escalate their dress up, still no suit Overall: kinda creepy, weird, maybe smelly if you meet them in public, but not different from your average porn addict (35-40% of the fandom) Fursuiters: These are the folk that regularly go to cons, they can range from cheap suit or partials that costed less than $500 to some that cost more than $20k loaded with LEDs, servo jaws, servo ears, magnet eyes, magnet claws, and specialized vent holes because they're hot (worn one but never owned one), they have serious debates about four finger gloves or five finger gloves as well as digitigrade or plantigrade feet, suspiciously wealthy or talented individuals Overall: strange, pleasantly kind, social outcasts (hence the anonymity), evolution of the sfw art furries normally. These are the first step outside of comparable range, but for the most part they are fine people, just a strange hobby (5-10% of the fandom) Mursuiters: I felt uncomfortable typing their title so here we go. The mursuiter cares about sex, augments, and overall horny side of the furries.), they're also the ones who typically get all the furries in trouble at conventions for doing disgusting or obscene things in public or in hotels, some conventions have actually put in policies that will permanently ban you if you are caught doing things like these ones do Overall: kinda scary, somewhat unhinged, I have never met one that hasn't creeped me out or wasn't absolutely hypersexual to the point of addiction (Unknown percent of the fandom) Otherkin: These are people that aren't true furries but typically stem from them and can come from any range of the previous tiers and typically show signs of severe or growing mental illness, they genuinely believe that you can be trans species and are more prominent among younger people who have been lead down this rabbit hole of a few older weirdos that the kids parents were not careful or smart enough to teach the kid to avoid on the Internet, these are the ones that hiss at you even when not in suit Overall: kinda sad when you think about them, very strange, most need serious help or discipline Conclusion: Furries are a strange breed. I've met some as old as sixty that were some weirdos, but pleasant to talk with. While I've met others younger than me with horrific disgusting fetishes and deeds beyond the worst thing you can imagine. Not all furries are degenerates, but the trend I've seen is: the younger they join the easier they are to corrupt, the later they join the more tame they tend to stay, the longer they stay the less likely they are to leave, and the longer the corrupted stay the more corrupt they become. Don't take my word for all furries, it's a strange and highly complicated culture ranging from those who just think a cartoon dog profile picture is cute to those who make conspiracies to attack prominent members of the fandom so take it as you will and if you're curious do your own research.

Very well explained! I'm part of the SFW side, I enjoy making and wearing fursuits and going to conventions, I don't do any kind of role play stuff. I've always just enjoyed cartoons and animals, later on appreciating the art form of suit making. I admit I've occasionally peeked into the nsfw side but it gets to be too much pretty quickly. Some fantastical elements can be fun but then you get into hyper stuff and murrsuits and uh... no thanks.
There are the furrys that just like the anthro art and cartoons that don't make it about sex, and there are the furrys that are all in on the creepy sex thing. Either way, they need to try harder to stay in touch with reality.

In high school, the Furry my kid has to deal with, is a sexual predictor. The Furry preferred members of the same sex and was focused on my child, then the other kids laughed at my child. My child is suffering from depression due to "one little furry".
First of all, I have never heard of a furry using a litterbox. 2nd, it is not remotely true that all furries do it as a fetish. About 1/7th of the fandom is asexual (does not experience sexual attraction at all) which proves this wrong. Furries who do it as a fetish are called murrsuiters.

In Oklahoma, we have a school that is making the teachers refer to kids as their “fursona” and they have to allow them to “express” themselves by meowing, hissing, etc… in class
We had a meeting before school started with all the parents and all the school staff of the district to decide if there should be litter boxes in the bathrooms at the middle school this year. 98% of parents disagreed. There was a few parents for it and they ended up putting the furry kids in a different school. Now let me backstep a little...We are a rural community in the dead center of Utah with approximately 400 kids in just the middle school. Sadly It is definitely a real thing.

About 8 years ago I was transporting a patient from WV to Pittsburgh PA and drove past a gathering of Furries assumably at a convention. I couldn't believe my eyes. More power to them I guess. This world is getting more surreal by the minute. My paramedic and I had a good laugh out of it though.
I don't know if I'd do the furry thing, but in a way I kind of envy their freedom. It's hard to shake a very strict upbringing, A lot of what they do has an interesting creative, fantasy element I miss from my own childhood.
Furries are for the most part really cool people. And while what Joe Rogan said about it being sexual is true for some that not what it's like for everyone. And obviously you got some nutjobs that claim to be furries but are just plain crazy. They're just about being kind, accepting, and having a bit of harmless fun.

i have never heard of the litter box thing but people involved in this fandom really do take shit to far to a point that even I don't understand and sometimes the stuff i hear about like the "school litter box" thing makes me want to quit I've found a different group of people that express themselves without all the drama. I think it's because a lot of the wackier leftists are moving into fandoms and they bring their ideology with them. You can see it in a lot different hobbies and fandoms not just the furries. As an outsider, that's what it looks like to me, a subversion by ideologues.
I was honestly quite surprised to see this wasn't a furry hate video. I always thought of Joe Rogan of the 'King of Idiots', and it would seem that observation was horribly incorrect. A lot of people just jump and down and scream about furries being degenerate without actually knowing anything about and just going of stereotypes and rumours. I like that Joe Rogan went out and actually researched them because he was fascinated by them, not disgusted. Just to be clear, I think it's fair that he finds it weird. From an outsiders perspective, that's absolutely fair, but that doesn't justify hatred in my book, and I'm glad people like Joe Rogan exist.

People who think they are animals or have animal spirits are called Otherkin. And the sex thing is kinda like the game Overwatch. Overwatch is definitely a video game and not a sex thing. There is a STUPID amount of Overwatch porn, its huge. Furry is much the same way. As it turns out a significant % of people will cross sex with their interests and hobbies and this is very common in video games, movies, and comics. Wanting your GF to dress up as Wonder Woman because you're a nerd doesn't make cosplay a sex thing :).

I was genuinely confused about the whole school litterbox thing, to hear it was because an insane parent _asked_ for it is actually shocking, but somehow not surprising. As a furry, I could probably tell you one thing that is not happening in mass at conventions and that's sex in fursuits. Not saying it hasn't happened but you're dropping almost 2k on a fursuit and any kind of strenuous activity would kill you with heat exhaustion. Not to mention ruin a 2k suit. My average time at a convention is spent hanging out with strangers that are like minded, sometimes I go into the board game room, plus there are a lot of pretty awesome panels that go on and even one that taught about bee keeping.
Exactly the sexual thing does of course happen but that happens with every community and even so its not even 3% of furies that do so . We all just chill and try to makes friends and have lots of fun.

@@TheBaseballking23 Well the baseline for being a furry is simply having an interest in media that contains anthropomorphic animals/non-human species. The community is pretty well known for its extremely good artists, like some of the art pieces that come out of the community are extremely good. However you don't need to be an artist to be a part of the community, nor do you need an original character of your own, which the community calls fursonas. At the end of the day it is simply a hobby, the vast majority of the community are pretty much regular people, and those that own fursuits are a small minority due to their cost if one where to commission it.

The minute you said you were going for a UFC event and you were talking about furries I knew you were going to say you were in Pittsburgh. The 1st time I visited a guy I was dating in 2013 it was during the furry convention. He told me about it but I never saw one. Fast forward 9 years and I now live in Pittsburgh and I was out with my kids sightseeing and we saw one. My 13 year old son was shocked. Lol!

Simply the amount of sexual stuff associated with furries makes it almost impossible for it not to be the majority. As an ex furry who sometimes interviews current furries for fun I can give some layers to it, but by no means am I going over the entire way too deep culture of them. Some things I'll gloss over: controversies, amino, subsect cultures (Google Nazi furs for a little taste, but by no means do they represent the whole community), etc. Fair warning there is a reason I say ex-furry
(45-50% of the fandom)
SFW art furries: people who enjoy the art, maybe the do some roleplay in private chatrooms, type cringey things in public chatrooms I.E. uwu, murr, hehe~, *nuzzles*, *pounces*, x3 (to those who think that's familiar there's a reason they were in the copy pasta), maybe experiment with headband ears or make-up, no fursuits... yet
Overall: harmless, weirdos, and social outcasts, but not really different from your average internet user
(15-20% of the fandom)
NSFW art furries: weirdo territory really begins, enjoy the porn, escalate their rp to be sexual, type cringey or sexual things in public chatrooms, know wayyyyy too much about animal anatomy, start buying certain toys, maybe a tail buttplug to escalate their dress up, still no suit
Overall: kinda creepy, weird, maybe smelly if you meet them in public, but not different from your average porn addict
(35-40% of the fandom)
Fursuiters: These are the folk that regularly go to cons, they can range from cheap suit or partials that costed less than $500 to some that cost more than $20k loaded with LEDs, servo jaws, servo ears, magnet eyes, magnet claws, and specialized vent holes because they're hot (worn one but never owned one), they have serious debates about four finger gloves or five finger gloves as well as digitigrade or plantigrade feet, suspiciously wealthy or talented individuals
Overall: strange, pleasantly kind, social outcasts (hence the anonymity), evolution of the sfw art furries normally. These are the first step outside of comparable range, but for the most part they are fine people, just a strange hobby
(5-10% of the fandom)
Mursuiters: I felt uncomfortable typing their title so here we go. They do similar things as fursuiters but typically with the more express purpose to have sex with other furries, these are the ones you hear about with the litterboxes and dog bowls, they have specially designed suits with holes, breasts, butts, wearables, and God knows whatever else they wanted, these suits tend to start closer to $1k and up to $10k (why is the upper limit typically cheaper than the fursuiter? Because the fursuiter cares about the camaraderie, art form, and expression. The mursuiter cares about sex, augments, and overall horny side of the furries.), they're also the ones who typically get all the furries in trouble at conventions for doing disgusting or obscene things in public or in hotels, some conventions have actually put in policies that will permanently ban you if you are caught doing things like these ones do
Overall: kinda scary, somewhat unhinged, I have never met one that hasn't creeped me out or wasn't absolutely hypersexual to the point of addiction
(Unknown percent of the fandom)
Otherkin: These are people that aren't true furries but typically stem from them and can come from any range of the previous tiers and typically show signs of severe or growing mental illness, they genuinely believe that you can be trans species and are more prominent among younger people who have been lead down this rabbit hole of a few older weirdos that the kids parents were not careful or smart enough to teach the kid to avoid on the Internet, these are the ones that hiss at you even when not in suit
Overall: kinda sad when you think about them, very strange, most need serious help or discipline
Conclusion: Furries are a strange breed. I've met some as old as sixty that were some weirdos, but pleasant to talk with. While I've met others younger than me with horrific disgusting fetishes and deeds beyond the worst thing you can imagine. Not all furries are degenerates, but the trend I've seen is: the younger they join the easier they are to corrupt, the later they join the more tame they tend to stay, the longer they stay the less likely they are to leave, and the longer the corrupted stay the more corrupt they become.
Don't take my word for all furries, it's a strange and highly complicated culture ranging from those who just think a cartoon dog profile picture is cute to those who make conspiracies to attack prominent members of the fandom so take it as you will and if you're curious do your own research.

About 8 years ago I was transporting a patient from WV to Pittsburgh PA and drove past a gathering of Furries assumably at a convention. I couldn't believe my eyes. More power to them I guess. This world is getting more surreal by the minute. My paramedic and I had a good laugh out of it though.
I don't know if I'd do the furry thing, but in a way I kind of envy their freedom. It's hard to shake a very strict upbringing, A lot of what they do has an interesting creative, fantasy element I miss from my own childhood.
Furries are for the most part really cool people. And while what Joe Rogan said about it being sexual is true for some that not what it's like for everyone. I was honestly quite surprised to see this wasn't a furry hate video. I always thought of Joe Rogan of the 'King of Idiots', and it would seem that observation was horribly incorrect. A lot of people just jump and down and scream about furries being degenerate without actually knowing anything about and just going of stereotypes and rumours. I like that Joe Rogan went out and actually researched them because he was fascinated by them, not disgusted. Just to be clear, I think it's fair that he finds it weird.
