Shelby, you made me tear up!!! You talking about the ladies in your family…..such a wealth of wisdom you have inherited!!! I am so happy you are back on UA-cam!!!
It warms my heart to hear you share your memories. I no longer have my mother or grandmother but when I was cooking for Thanksgiving, just the smell of the food makes me emotional and greatful at the same time. My children told that my food taste just like my mother's. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I’m throughly enjoying your pantry challenge Shelby! You are such a skilled and patient home chef!! Your family as I’m sure they know are BLESSED TREMENDOUSLY! ❤👏🏽💕
The stories of your inherited rolling pins brought a tear to my eyes. I've never thought of my mother's rolling pin that way. From this day forward, I'll see it in a different light. Thank you ❤
I wish we had a love button along with the like button ❤️ watching Shelby make bread while listening to the history and memories of her grandmothers WARMED my HEART. This lady is a national treasure ❤️
Thank you for the recipes and for sharing about the women who have inspired you. Sound like amazing women - just like you! As you've said, how blessed and grateful to be able to have those cherished memories and examples of goodness, generosity, grit, talent and resourcefulness. Appreciated, Shelby! ❤
Oh my goodness, what great stories about your grandmothers x I lost my mum nearly a year ago and she used to make pierogi from scratch - homage to our Polish heritage xxx
I’m so glad you’re back posting. Didn’t realize how much I missed your voice and content… I pray God continues to cover you and your family, sending love from KY
What a beautiful connection to your ancestry! I'm so happy to see you back on UA-cam. Your videos give such a vozy vibe- I love watching after a long day at work to unwind.
I came here for the recipes and left with tears in my eyes and a ball on my throat. Listening to your stories is just so soothing to the heart. Thank you for sharing all that you are and do. ❤
What a lovely story. Your grannies were women not to be messed with. Strong women. I fear that is being lost to a society who strive for fame and money. As young people move from a faith they are loosing the idea of family being frugal the pleasure of working hard and achieving a goal. It is about instant gratification. Thank goodness not all young people are like this .
Love your pantry challenges, like the tours of your pantry as well. Grocery hauls for the winter season are really nice how you have a plan to feed the many.
I love watching your videos. They are so informative and relatable. This video in particular has touched my heart when you shared your family story at the end. Thank you so very much for that.
Beautiful tribute to your moms & grandmas. You remind me a lot of my family by your story and the way you cook and stock up. God bless your hands…He’s a wonderful provider.
Turning 70 in a few days, and I still cook recipes from my mother, grandmothers and mother-in-law. I appreciate and think about them often. Going to say that I have two sons and a husband of 44 years and they are darned good cooks so I've stepped back and enjoyed.
Oh that was a wonderful story of the rolling pins and your grandmas. My gosh. Our youn generation has no idea. Enjoyed all the yum dishes tonight. hugs
I haven't been on UA-cam in a couple of weeks and the last time I was on I was looking up your channel to see if you uploaded. I am sooo happy to see you have again! This channel just makes me feel wholesome and cosy. Love from Wales 🏴
You sure can cook. You are making some amazing meals. Thank you for sharing your precious stories with us, they were heart warming. I always say recipe's are memories, and you just shared how that is so true. Thank you for so many ideas and recipes. God bless
I found you when looking for those participating in the Pantry Challenge. I'm so impressed with your recipes! Everything looks so delicious! Thank you for sharing the sweet stories as well!
Oh Shelby (is this how you spell your name?), I was so touched to hear about your grandmothers and your mother and Ken’s mother and stepmother. What a blessing to have so many strong and kind women in your family. I did not know either one of my grandmothers they both died before I was born. In fact I used to wonder when I found out that I was going to be a grandmother what it would be like and if I would do a good job since I had no role model. I only ended up having one grandchild and she is 25 now and such a blessing to me. We are very close. When I found out I was going to be a grandmother I had no doubt that I was going to love my grandchild but what I was not prepared for is how much she love me back. Thanks for these great videos
OMG I'm over here with tears rolling. I so wish I would have had some of that love you shared with us. I wish we would have had a really large family. My father and both sides of my grand parents had past when we was very young. So I never got that chance to meet and grow up with grandparents. I know I have missed something in my life without that. Thank you so much for coming back and sharing such wonderful memories with us.
Sweet memories - thanks for sharing. I love watching your meals come together. I watched one video where you did a years worth of shopping and thought how diversified your “stock” was. Now I know why…..you’re ready to make every dish imaginable. You say it calls for fig butter? No problem, I have that! 😊
Everything looks so yummy! The baked oatmeal reminded me of Becky at Acre Homestead. Do you watch her? You would love her too. I would love to see the greenhouse if you are up to giving a tour....maybe in the spring?
What a nice tribute to the special women in your life. I too have many great memories of women cooking and preserving in my family. All the recipes you make look great. Thank you for sharing your memories, food and home with us.
Thank you for sharing your story of the strong women in your life! Wow, all those kids to take care of back then! You have had some amazing women in your family and what a deep connection you have with them and using their rolling pins. I feel that way too, when I use my great grandmother’s cast iron frying pan, or when I use any of their recipes or recipe books. Whenever I make a dish that my great grandmother, grandmother or mom made. When I am canning, I feel connected to them as well, as I learned from them. The love you show in your cooking, is surely passed down from your beautiful family! That soup and bread looks amazing! I think I will make Zuppa Toscano this weekend with some cheese garlic bread! Yum! I will definitely make the baked oatmeal!
Ŵhat a beautiful dedication to the people who pass down their their family history. I have my grandmother's rolling pin, but due to terminal cancer I no longer have the strength to use it. Shelby, its wonderful you are back on UA-cam. I've missed you so very much.
I made my first oatmeal bake this week and man it is so delicious. I can’t believe I haven’t made it before. Loved the stories of your mom and grandma. Oh and I cooked chicken tenders tonight using your fried chicken method and it was a hit. My husband made waffles with our new waffle maker and we had a delicious chicken and waffle supper.
I have missed your content for so long. It feels like Christmas with so many new videos. Can you share the bread recipe or redirect us to where it can be found.
You made me cry! What a great memory to share with us. I used to visit my German Grandmother, and she made dough and turned it into coffee cake, bread, and kolaches without any recipe.
Shelby, your daughter in laws will say you are/were the best mother in law they could ever ask for. They will say you are kind, loving, generous, selfless and a fantastic cook among other things. They are very lucky!
I feel like I might be the only one that doesn’t know what a pantry challenge is. My pantry has just the basics. I don’t hoard or clear the shelves to avoid shortages and so my fellow neighbours are not met with empty grocery shelves. So I just have a bit of the basics.
Ok now I’m starving and I can’t break my fast until 2pm. And I think your daughter-in-laws are going to love everything about you, except trying to live up to how mama made it. And they’re going to adore their rolling pins I’m sure of it!
if you are loving this content, please give a thumbs up it really helps her channel out :) as do comments ! Cheers, I am just someone who enjoys her channel alot and want to see it succeed and keep on happening :)

The baked oatmeal looks good. I am not a huge fan of eating just oatmeal. But I will try this recipe
Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful memories ❤😊
What a truly lovely story. I hope you pass your rolling pin on to your son and not just your daughter in law though ♥
OMG! What is your bread recipe?!?! It looks delicious 🤤

Thank you for sharing your family history with us. My mother was the oldest of 9. I wouldn't take anything for the history i have with my own family.
Shelby can we please have a pantry and freezer tour. I remember from earlier videos and they looked like a grocery store.❤❤
My son now has his great grandmothers rolling pins. Much love 💕
I would like that soup with the spinach instead of the kale. I am not a kale person but love spinach.
Hello! Do you have any recipes written to share? That bread looks amazing and was hoping for a bread recipe.
I put all my recipes in the description box below, so you can cut and paste
Fabulous! So glad you are back! ❤
❤
My Mother was the oldest of 13 children and my grandmother fed many other children in the area .
I feel like I might be the only one that doesn’t know what a pantry challenge is.
My pantry has just the basics. I don’t hoard or clear the shelves to avoid shortages and so my fellow neighbours are not met with empty grocery shelves. So I just have a bit of the basics.
Shelby can I use almond milk for the baked oatmeal?
Ok now I’m starving and I can’t break my fast until 2pm. And I think your daughter-in-laws are going to love everything about you, except trying to live up to how mama made it. And they’re going to adore their rolling pins I’m sure of it!
My baked oatmeal is so dense. it's more like a sweet bread😂 But it's yummy❤
