  • With all of the personal finance apps I review, which ones do I personally use the most? Well, in this video, I’m going to reveal my top 5 finance tools for 2024.
    Top 5: fioney.com/top-5-money-tools-...
    Rakuten: fioney.com/rakuten-review/
    Dosh: fioney.com/dosh-app-review/

    Aura: fioney.com/aura-review/
In years past, I’ve looked at lists of FinTech apps I thought showed the most promise or just fascinated me as an observer. Unfortunately, my prognostication skills proved to be lacking, so I’m hanging up my Carnac cap. Instead, for 2024, I thought I’d highlight 5 financial tools I’ll be using most in the coming year.
First up on my list is Rakuten, which is my go-to cashback tool for online shopping
I don’t know about you but I love earning cashback - or, in my case, Amex Membership Rewards. That’s why I’ve been a longtime fan of Rakuten, dating back to when the platform was still known as Ebates. In my experience, Rakuten often has enhanced earning rates that best a number of other platforms. And, as I mentioned, you can even elect to earn MR points instead of cash. Given these factors,, the service is my first stop online shopping in most cases and continues to be one of my most frequented financial tools for good reason.
Next is another cashback platform I’ve talked a lot about: Dosh
It was fairly recently that I revisited Dosh after a lull in my love affair with the app. What i found was that cashback tool still had a lot to offer and even made some improvements from the past, including lowering the cashout threshold back to $15 from $25. In particular, I appreciate that some of our favorite local spots like 4 by 4 and Hold Fast Brewing are featured alongside national brands like Shake Shack. Even better, in each of these cases, earning cashback is near mindless as all I need to do is use a linked credit card. While there are also online offers and now activate offers, which require activation and a Visa card, the core offering of Dosh is still stong enough that these extra features only make it better.
As for other aspects of personal finance, one of my favorite apps as of late has been Rocket Money
With Mint in the process of shutting down, some users may be looking for a new money management app. For them, I might recommend Rocket Money. While it doesn’t have all of the budgeting features of Mint - at least not in the the free version - there are plenty of other aspects that I enjoy. At the top of the list is the recurring payment calendar, which helps bring my attention to subscription payments and credit card due dates. Plus, for some bills, you can have Rocket Money negotiate on your behalf in exchange for a cut of any savings they score you. That’’s exactly what i did with a Sirius XM bill and would do it again. So, although it may not be a full-on Mint replacement, for me, Rocket Money is a winner.
While I have plenty of plenty banking accounts to my name, Prizepool has continued to be one of the most interesting and rewarding
To be clear, PrizePool is not the account that I have the majority of my money in. In fact, I currently only have about $150 in it. Yet, over the past year, i’ve managed to win $42 via their weekly drawings. To be fair, three-quarters of that sum actually came from referral bonus rewards as PrizePool give both the referrer and the person being referred a 10% bonus on prizes won. In any case, thanks to the fun of those weekly drawings and, of course, winning, I’m looking forward to another year of using the PrizePool app.
Finally, while it’s not purely a finance tool, Aura has found a larger role in my life this past year
Soon after I signed up for Aura thanks to an Amex Offer, I started seeing several sponsored spots for the service across UA-cam. Luckily, unlike some other brands known for youtube sponsorship reads, I found Aura to be a useful and overall quality platform, which is why I just renewed my subscription for another year - and im not een one of the youtubers that they've sponsored
With Aura, you can keep a close eye on your credit and get alerts whenever there’s any sort of inquiry. Meanwhile, the service aso includes many other features ranging from password management to a VPN to data broker removal.. It’s also a clean, easy interface that makes me actually want to use the app/site - so I’ll continue to do so in 2024/
