It's time for all of us to get out of social media apps and interact people in real life.

I wonder how people would even do that. Obviously people tend to follow a crowd, so maybe mass movement away from social media is needed.

@@Mr_B_last Yeah....a mass movement could be helpful for social awareness on this issue. But ultimately it depends on us individuals that we want to get out of this situation or not.

For some reason, I don't think that we are going to get rid of social media's chokehold anytime soon. The utility that social media presents is scary

If there's no families, what incentives are there to come together or take care of the environment or society? Ladies have their hookups with top 5% guys, and guys rot away in their homes spending time on distractions.

@@Mr_B_last It's true that social media is useful in many cases and we can't remove social media entirely from our life. I'm not saying that we should remove all our social media accounts but we must understand that social media is not a real world. We need to live in a real world so we need to restrict our use of social media and meet people in real life. It more depends on our will and discipline.

“Loneliness is the poverty of self; solitude is richness of self.”
“A man can be himself only so long as he is alone; and if he does not love solitude, he will not love freedom; for it is only when he is alone that he is really free”

I was a teen in the 2010s and I often find myself appalled by the things and people I was exposed to from 13-18 just by spending most of my days online. The things I wish I could unsee lol. My parents really tried to moderate our screen time, but they were pretty ignorant to what we were consuming online. Just wanted to say, as an older Gen Z, I am, in fact, appalled lol. Good episode!

Day Care centres set up in retirement communities is proving to be very successful, too. Cross-age group situations are very healthy for all concerned

Loneliness has become the REAL pandemic. The world has become a reflection of social media, instead of social media reflecting the world.

Nah, it's just one of the many symptoms of this moral crisis we're going through. People's mental health, physical health, social skills, the ability to be autonomous and emotionally mature etc. have lowered. It's an overall degeneration.

I'm so jealous of my 90 yr old aunt who lives in a retirement community. Everyone knows everyone. She plays cards with a different group every night. They have dances and ice cream socials. The silent generation has it figured out.

It's time to limit social media. Maybe legislation would be to difficult so maybe via "trend". Seems like people forgot that theres a major dopamine rush when asking somebody out in person, even if you get denied...

I think the chart nosedives when people retire and after their kids grow up. If their time with all the other categories is not concurrent with their partner time, then that is still a nice part of the day to be interacting. I mean I have to people all day at work and I am going to school part time separate from that and I hardly have a minute to myself. I think being alone is a luxury at this time in my life. School is squeezing almost everything outside of work out to the side. I had three hobby clubs I was involved with that kept me as busy socially as I wanted to be. I know you are talking about human interaction, but it would be interesting to see a line item for pets or livestock to see how much time they take up. I feel alot of people prefer the company of animals to people. A pet cannot ridicule you on social media, (although they get a lot of ribbing on it) .

I don't feel lonely. I feel like that's an related issue, it causes people to drift away when they shouldn't. I haven't watched the entire podcast yet but I hope that gets discussed.

I don’t think that mental health is an all time low. I think that it is not great but surely is better than world war 2 for instance.. but I agree with the rest Mark! Great video once more 😊
