And I bet that budget is nothing compared to that of a netflix production of similar quality. I suspect his value to money ratio is insane. I'm going to see now if he's got any behind-the-scenes content on his channel. Is it all green screen? does he own any beige carpet? These mysteries are almost as pressing in my mind as those in the world of the back rooms.
@@robbiekavanagh2802 I'm more concerned about the mystery of whether or not Kane owns beige carpet than anything the backrooms has to offer now that you mention it
The fact that until now, ASync only had a vague motion detected trigger and bodies, and now they have actual evidence something is in there. Im very curious where this is heading towards as this is a very interesting storytelling.
ASync must have shut down KV31 but hadn't realised there were alternative ways of entering it (such as in Found Footage). Maybe they reopened it and began launching rescue missions (like with GibbsonTV?)

@@SirNikurasu I can understand the need to kill people to keep things secret, but do they really need to keep throwing inmates onto the pyre? If this was SCP, they would've thrown atleast 20 class-D's into the back rooms with cameras and mics just to see how they die.
As many people have said, the visuals on this series are unbelievably good. But not as many are mentioning the amazing sound design in these videos, a perfect mixture of eeirie chords, dissonance, and the always present static/white noise that makes everything slightly hard to hear, which adds to the vibe.
@@WobblesandBean Believe it not, the vast majority of this is Blendr CG. You can only really notice it when you see people walking. Though this episode seems like it might have real actors involved, I'm unsure. This dude is seriously talented and the fact you can't tell speaks volumes to that.
the fact that this comes before the presentation. they know there are hostile entities lurking, but still go ahead with building houses there. exactly how i'd imagine a real company to behave
Explanation of what I think happened: After discovering the bacteria monster, ASync sets up precautions such as blocking off a part of the Backrooms and setting up a blast shield in the observation room in fear of what could happen if any hostile entity were to attack.
your "wire" monster is called bacteria, and async already knew about it before as evident by "motion detected", "autopsy report" and "missing persons" videos that have earlier date stamps, the whole idea behind the async corporation is that they clearly know much more than researchers they send out, its especially evident in missing persons videos as async traps their own researchers and even kills 1 that escaped.
Considering the dude from the very first video died there six years later, he didn't even have the chance of ever finding the spot where the "portal" is.
Except that window exists in the observation room already when Marvin's team enters. And the photos in this video show it being constructed behind, presumably, the guideline wheel that Marvin's team was installing.
Imagine being 16 years old and creating something so good that you can get Hollywood-style live action shots to incorporate into your UA-cam series. It's insane how this one series based off a tiny greentext could get you so far in life. But you've cemented yourself as an inconic internet legend who can incorporate real life acting into animation seamlessly. You're doing things I couldn't have ever imagined when I was your age.
I can't figure out how he got a budget for this. He's clearly able to hire actors, acquire costumes, get great real life shots, has access to really good lighting and editing....how?!
I love the genuine reactions of the scientists watching Marv's video. It wasn't the cold and casual stare of a business mega-mind, these are normal people. They were genuinely afraid for this guy, realizing the horror of what happened. And then they were just like, "Welp, I guess we'll just cover that up... Just build a wall there. Don't worry."
I love how async just nopes the fuck out and doesnt even try to use weapons against the creature. It’s like “nah I dont think guns are gonna work against an extra dimensional entity”
Well, there is nothing that could indicate to us that Async is closing the project... I mean, they've just installed some armour panels on the windows, why is everebody thinking that Async closed the project...
@@FowlorTheRooster1990 Nnnyeah but we saw in the "motion detected" video that the treshold gate was getting closed during the night, so he might just be in front of the gate at the wrong moment)

Imagine if years ago the previous owners found a backroom, did not know what to do with it so just...built a wall to hide it....and that wall right next to you...has behind it an entire entrance to a backroom. Those weird knocks you hear at night...or when you are alone at the office...what if its an anomaly passing by...both you and it unaware of each other?
@@notjustalex7667 Bro and it's fucking A24 that'll be behind it, could be in for a genuine treat if it actually gets made, no gurantees at all yet other than A24 has shown massive interest
That's what I was thinking at first too, but then I started to think with that sliding pannel, that room looked a lot like that control center buddy found himself in a few episodes back, the one where the alarm went off? Maybe they're done, but like maybe it's a more 'permanent' observation post?
For some reason it hadn't occured to me that until now, Async had no idea these monsters exist- or at least had no real evidence. I can just imagine the pure shock that would ripple across the whole company- everyone (legible to know) scrambling trying to figure out what the hell happened, and what that thing was. Amazing job as always Kane!
Three things i love about this video: First is the subtle shock and horror on the researchers' faces as they study the video and reach the part with the entity. Not over the top terror but a steady realization that there's something down there that isn't human. You can see the existential dread creeping over their faces. Second is the steadily increasing tension in the music which matches how ASYNC's people are realizing what's wrong with the Backrooms. Third is the other researcher going through the hallways. He has to navigate multiple hallways and elevators to get back up to daylight, which helps emphasize that the Threshold and the Backrooms are far away from the surface and well removed from the normal world. Even if you get out of the Backrooms, you're still deep below ground and a long way from the sun.
I did some lip reading @ 3:52 and here's the closest I could get: [pick up phone, push button] "You lied, you said it would be safe" [pause to listen] "That's what... [person], [person], [person], and [person] all said." [pause to listen] "No, [???] [???] [???] safe now." [minor pause] "Okay, okay. / Got it, of course. / For sure, I understand"
I created the project "TWO PILLS" where we performed the most shitty tasks under VIAGRA and LAXATIVE, in a battle for $ 100 🔥 Check out the level of content, and help to start at the beginning of the path - now it's very difficult....🙌
Whoaaaa. This combo of CG and real people is so seamless. Good job, really fleshes out Async behind the scenes. Also, this is the first video where ASync has fully become aware of the creature. I assume the beginning shows Marvin & gang returning from the encounter- Looks like they tried to seal off the monster with that new wall which then became a closing gate thing.
Props to the actors, They made the reaction so well and realistic! It’s not like a “OH MY GAWDD THAT THINGS IN THERE!!??” It’s more of a “Oh my god that’s in there?” Very subtle, You can tell they are concerned.
Ok as a composer you cannot tell me that you not only created these films but ALSO created the entire OST. At 16!! This is more immersing music than you'd find in MANY movies, fitting the mood, time period, completely unprecedented setting, and draws the viewer in. Seriously I don't think the music gets NEARLY enough praise
If you liked the music here, you might also love the music in an old psychodelic Soviet cartoon "Legends of the Peruvian Indians". Some parts of the track here definitely remind me of it. Couldn't find the subtitled version unfortunately, but you can pretty much understand everything by the stunning visuals: ua-cam.com/video/EiU9ahCuVYM/v-deo.html
@@micah3331 I've seen no proof of that yet. A lot of people don't realize that you can get all kinds of professionally made music to use in your creations for relatively little cash. There's even some "open source" stuff.
I really like Async's response on it. They're really taking it seriously and judging by the researcher's face are genuinely worried about the creature and the employees safety instead of the kind of company that just brushes it under the rug like we see in a lot of media
Now that I think of it if it were Umbrella, Omnicorp, or Weyland-Yutani they would just outright let their people die to see how dangerous the entities are. Async goes "Naw we don't want to screw over the planet so we build barricades and safeguards!"
I love how instead of just glossing over Marvs experience and what happened in the pitfalls as another spooky and weird event that happened in the backrooms, they take it seriously as a major discovery and new danger
And they know that, if there's one, there are probably more of those things. I'm interested on seeing how they adapt to this danger, while exploring the place.
@@KS-lb1tu If that creature is a result of them leaving the motion detecting camera in the backrooms than there might be a legit reason they don't take guns in there.
@@iamknife7Also, you wouldn't want to damage the place you're trying to study, right? Besides, Async seens more like a research division, rather than a military one. They rather focus on containment protocols, than to just send armed men in there without any solid data on the creatures.
@@Destroyer2150 yeah it’s not like there’s anything they need from the backrooms, so there’s really no reason for them to got there except research purposes.
I still find it hard to believe that not only does Kane make these videos from scratch, but he does the music too. This dude has Hollywood director written all over him. But to be fair, he's probably too good for Hollywood. I have no doubt we'll be seeing Kane in the credits in ton of movies in the future. Incredibly talented to the point where it makes me jealous.
No no not Hollywood. He should keep as he his. Set up a “lukafilm” sort of thing from his brand so he can keep the artistic choices for himself to make, of which I have full confidence in him to make to say the least
Hollywood sucks. It has been proven time and time again. There's def a reason why the best horror is ALWAYS independent cinema. This is why I firmly believe that the strike (and hopefully collapse of the industry) is, in fact, the best thing that can happen to movies and creativity. We are going to see a Renaissance of cinematic creation that hasn't existed in decades.
1:31 - 4:20 has to be your best scenes you've made for your backrooms series. The way how the scientist is pacing himself from one side of the building to deliver the news to the hire up, the scientists reviewing the tape (one of them I'm assuming is the one that was filming the monster given his expression), The music building up in the background between the scientists, to then cut when the music was dying down is just by far the most cinematic scene you have made so far.
@@TrianglePants His second channel is called Not Kane Pixels and the OST name of the music used is Compromises. You'll find it in the Backrooms OST playlist there.
I liked the genuine look of concern on the faces of the researches as they see the creature on the footage, that was a genuine human reaction to something that makes no sense whatsoever. I also liked how the scientists actually took the threat of the monster seriously, as opposed to just covering it up. Also, the real actors mixed with the CGI blends so seamlessly, like, I’m still surprised that this was made by a 16 year old! You have taken the oversaturated and fattened up backrooms and turned it into what it was always supposed to be, psychological horror. Well done
We're always talking about Kane's visual creations because they are absolutely amazing, but can we take a moment to also appreciate the Hollywood level sound effects, audio production and immersive music scoring?! Brilliant!
tbf, that "mono-yellow liminal space" just looked like any other office building to them, since this as the 80s/90s and that style as still considered modern
Well if we are talking realistically (without the paranoia from horror movies and stuff) The idea of something being there (and seemingly hostile) is a very unrealistic thing to people (especially scientists) Like, Why WOULD there be monsters that kill people? It just doesn’t make sense.
The soundrack has a strong NIN "Ghosts" feel to it. Very industrial/mechanical but also has a weird warm machine hum and soft fluorescent light glow aspect to it. It's the perfect match for the content in this video. The sound engineering of this series is TOP NOTCH.
3:00 I love when movies and shows are self aware of how impactful their own best moments are. These guys are obviously shook by the recording and the fact that they ACTUALLY decided to board up the backrooms says a lot about how terrifying the last episode was for every viewer, even the in-universe ones. Amazing 👏
You can see the fear in their eyes too, as if they weren't sure what the hell they were looking at, and rightfully so.... Hell first seeing the pitfalls video drew me in, and I haven't been able to stop from going into this rabbit hole.
It would be more terrifying if you were in universe. Think about it. Actually seeing that and knowing it could just walk into your world... That would be horrifying.
this time around, I admire the sound design the most. I love this weird repeating, mechanic sound bit in the beginning, and the way its sound quality keeps changing drastically. all the layers on that recording tape.... generally. the music, the atmosphere, the play with sound is so cool in this one Gotta add though : I think the integration of the real life actors is pretty cool, it's crazy that you're using real sets etc now. but it also gives some level of control away. the man in the lab coat has a very stiff way of acting. I wasn't so convinced of that. The subtle expressions of the actors watching the tape and what is assume is some async exec were really cool though
I love the way you are portraying the creature. You aren’t giving us a clear look at it but you give us small glimpses and auditory information to be terrified and fascinated by it. That is the best way to create a “scary” monster in my opinion and you are doing a great job! Reminds me of how they filmed the alien in the first alien movie.
@@-eurosplitsofficalclanchan6057 It is perfect in my opinion. We couldn’t see anything before and after seeing small shots of a terrifying thing it gets even scarier to watch them going into the backrooms while we aren’t sure if it will come again or not.
Seeing the creature itself/seeing it portrayed like this has honestly been my least favorite part about the series as a whole. The insertion of monsters (visually/detailed descriptions) into the backrooms when it became popular threw me off of it since it took away from the horror of the place itself, instead relying on the monsters for anything terrifying to occur. At least that's how it's been for a lot of backrooms material. The mere suspense for what may lie in the unknown has been more than enough to grip my interest for most of the series/BR material in general. The series' saving grace (regarding monsters) is that it can rely on audio and video to make encounters terrifying, but their sole concept comes as generic to me, especially when you have an amazing and unexplored setpiece like this. The series has been amazing to watch, though the monsters are my only criticism for it truthfully
I took a few filmmaking classes, back in the day. One of the key things I remember the teacher saying: "Hire actual actors, don't use friends that are all your own age, especially when the part clearly calls for an adult in the role". It makes a huge difference.
It's so impressive how this has transformed in only 4 months from a home grown addition to a pop culture sci-fi theme into a seriously professional mini series with a very well written story and thoughtful visuals. Kane you have incredible talent and continue to impress and surprise with each new video you release, we're all so eager to see where you take this series, or what amazing future work you produce. I have a feeling this will get you recognized for your talent and lead you to more production opportunities.
i'm dropping by with some delay , been apart from the lore for a while , but i must say that absolutely in any case the things were cooling down here regarding the series , to say the opposite, looks like the tale's becoming stronger, over and over and this young fella and an amazing team of other guys are just escalating on their superb production skills. and style on te making; the sound efx's and synchronisation featured in this footage are just mind-bending . Definitely , this is the most intriguing and interesting production to ever gain life on the www environment , to say the least. Eager to see more coming soon . Jaws dropped and thumbs up here. We need more of that .
I love this so much, especially how the real-life shots complement the CGI shots to the point where you can't even tell the difference. The horror in their reactions is so well captured and thought out. I'm amazed Kane, this is brilliant :)
I can't tell you how much I appreciate it when filmed footage in horror movies doesn't get lost or corrupted. That happens way too often and is nothing but frustrating when it does. It is much more interesting when the people become aware of the mystery earlier, since it makes the rest of the story less predictable. The scientists now know about the existence of a strange creature within the "complex", but what will they do with that knowledge? I'm excited to see where this goes, very well done Kane!
I hadn't actually thought about it but now that you mention it, but I actually really like how now the names in charge are aware there's freaky shit going down, and they have actual proof. Can't wait to see where this goes, Kane is a prodegy.
I just found this series yesterday. Rarely do I find something on the internet that takes you in so fast. Brilliant! Well done Kane and the other creators.
Truly amazing, the story you’ve created and the world you’ve built is so in depth. Now that you’ve started including live action and real actors, just shows the lengths you’ll go to tell your story. Great work man! 😁
I think that one day, it will be revealed that Async are simply a sub-contractor of the Combine and the backrooms are a micro-verse contained with Black Mesa...
The phrase "THAT IS NOT A FUCKING PERSON" will easily be the best and most terrifying line I've ever heard. Not overly dramatic,no complexity, just sheer terror
It's like a person who really never thought monsters could be real.. This captured that feeling of total and complete betrayal of reality that just breaks a person. And I think the actors did well to convey the same in their own ways.
Its realistic also, Its not a “woah.. what is that?” And then once the monster is about to be able to kill him the person is like “oh no!!” This researcher realized what he had got himself into and the danger he is in and turn around and ran. Most horror movies would just have the guy get killed but this is an actually good and well thought out series. Great editing from this guy.
The fact as a 13 year old watching this series has given me goosebumps every video and I just love how it looks so realistic like I could just be in the backrooms myself watching this you are such a talented person keep up the good work!
Kane is a definitive example of somebody who found their thing. Well done Kane, everything about this exceeds the description of looking professionally done.
A few things are off in the live action, fire code, ADA accessibility and the elevator for the building are definitely very modern but for what seems to be low or zero budget it's very nice. The whiteboard and TV room is pretty good but I think the remote control on the right seems out of place, an ashtray would have been more appropriate. Period pieces are hard, even if you're only going back a few decades
@@introprospector oh absolutely, no disagreement with all of those points there, I was looking more towards the storytelling and world building, and for how frequently he’s uploading these videos, the animation and 3D modeling is incredible and the discrepancies are usually really minor
Im never going to find my thing, and even if I do, mental illness has destroyed my mind beyond being able to be good at it. Im going to kill myself tonight.
I think we're definitely into "part 2" of the backrooms series. We've gone from sheer mystery and investigation to ASYNC starting to become aware of the true danger and malice lurking in the backrooms. The soundtrack also reflects this. The first "volume" sounds like "what's going on" and the newer ones feel more like "we've messed up"
If anyone is wondering, the song playing while the labcoat dude walks down the hallway is called "Compromises". And the song that plays during the pictures of the backrooms after the dudes done on the phone, is called "Instances".
With each video this series just gets better and better, Kane manages to out do himself every time. He’s one of the inspirations behind my very own backrooms music. Good job Kane
That shot at 0:51 actually got us all by surprise. Almost EVERY Backrooms video has been in VHS format from what I've seen and to have Kane switch up the game a little and enter that 'cinematic' faze with a full on soundtrack and 4k shots giving us a clearer view of The Backrooms is absolutely beautiful. It's almost as if everything is almost being wrapped up into it's endgame (hopefully for season 1 so we get a season 2).

Whatever they found there in that other room, on top of Marvin's footage, profoundly terrified them and they shut off that area of the backrooms. There's so much lore to be uncovered from this masterpiece of a series, make more you brilliant 16 year old director!
The very real possibility of there being a hostile force in the Backrooms makes sealing off that section (or at least putting a security door) there rational as the last thing they want is something actively hostile trying to come through to our side of the gateway.

I think they wanted to use it as a living area too. But like all good things it changes to bad. I've mustered up a short video which is not CGI based of the backrooms, and the backstory is the same. I think the best thing about this - the whole series, the universe you're presenting to us - is that you have this rare thing called patience! You take your time with it! Dropping odd clues here and there, showing very little, hinting at so much more, allowing for the tension to build inside your viewer's heads. You're absolutely brilliant, and for all the bullshit, timewasting crap that exists on social media, things like your work are what makes me stay connected.
This series is the only thing bringing me back to UA-cam. It is a stunning feat of world-building, storytelling, CGI, sound engineering, and live action.
I'm amazed at the live acting quality and it really does contrast with the found footage style you used from the beginning. It gives a whole new depth to the story, almost like some sort of behind the scenes with Async. Great work !
Every element about this clip - and this extends to the series taken as a whole as well - is done unbelievably well. However, my background is in sound design and have experience scoring films so the audio is where I’m best positioned to really understand and appreciate just how insanely good all of the sound work - scoring/voiceovers/foley has been throughout the whole series. But Oh my fing-god - even amidst all the other great sounding episodes before - that first sound score here? The one that runs from the start till 1:30 or so? - that piece is just WTF-level great. I was immediately taken by how much the first score piece sounded like a track taken straight off from Swans “Soundtracks for the Blind” which is a top 5 most personally formative albums in my life as well as a masterwork that I also regard as THE most creatively intimidating album I’ve ever heard. So my suggesting any similarity in this way is meant as praise of the highest order. Floored.
Sound guy here too, I'm with you, this kid must have sprung full grown from someone else's head, like Athena. Staggering, almost paranormal brilliance for the age given.
One thing I find myself contently amazed by other than the graphics has got to be the sound design. It's so unique and it fits the atmosphere of the series really well. Phenomenal work once again!
This is literally one of, if not THE best, horror series to come out of UA-cam. Everything about it is so well done. The audio, the voice acting, the visuals. I am amazed that Kane is only 16 years old. This is incredible. Hands down my favorite thing on this site right now.

Watched all of the (as of now) back rooms videos right before bed... gotta go find some cute kitten videos... And I'm the type of person that can watch a horror movie before bed just fine, and casually fall asleep listening to disturbing and true crime podcasts, but this is a whole other level for me. The pitfalls video, dude... legit almost threw up from fear, chills, shaking, the whole bit. Holy hell this series is next level. Serious respect.
The switch from camcorder footage recorded out of situation --> a cinematic camera not manned by a real character was so jarring it honestly made this video very scary because it made me feel like i can not predict and I don't know why it was made like this
I’m watching this while I’m working and OH MY GOD this series is so good- One of my spinterests is the backrooms and this is itching that itch SO WELL. So much about this series is on such a professional level, many of the shots and sound design I find are very reminiscent of the HBO Chernobyl series, the amount of professionalism poured into this just aids to the immersion and absolute dread I feel with each watch, keep up the amazing work!
I haven’t seen an actual horror movie that’s made me feel this way in idk how long. Goes to show million dollar budget films are passing shit off as “content” and shoveling it into our mouths. We need to take a stand and support creators like this to revitalize the wonder and amazement in films once again.
Then you should see ‘heriditary’. Yeah kane is fckn good but that doesn’t mean you have to make fun of big movies just to praise kane, he is good in his own way, but i would still put hereditary and some more movies above this. That is itself an achievement for kane that with this low budget his series is being compared to the big dogs
Speculation: In the “Informational Video” it shows one of the Async researchers get separated from his group and stumble upon a fully built room. The room he finds has a very similar looking gate as the one in this video. It might be possible that he traveled forward in time? Since the Informational Video dates earlier than this one. Another thing to note is that as soon as he steps inside the room, an alarm goes off. Seeing the creature after the report from the pitfall team pushed Async to build a blockade of some sort to protect themselves from being attacked by a creature. Since something happened to the person that may have traveled in time, they might have something on them that classifies them as a threat/entity which triggers the alarm in the blockade room.
This feels like a home grown, better version of stranger things. Absolutely love it! Kane, you deserve all the attention you're getting. This is seriously high quality stuff!
what i love about the backrooms is that its not really a horror or scary, its fascinating, a mysterious world that compels us to explore. but there are still scary elements, i feel like kane does this really well, his videos arent just scary, but are compelling and mysterious, just like how the backrooms are, so he ends up making the perfect content for it.

The biohazardous carpeting, random pitfalls, mutated bread mold and sinister camera tripods roaming the place were believed to be minor setbacks. The part where the turn signs weren’t oriented properly was what finally convinced the head scientists that the Backrooms wouldn’t be suitable real estate even by California standards.

After discovering the bacteria monster, ASync sets up precautions such as blocking off a part of the Backrooms and setting up a blast shield in the observation room in fear of what could happen if any hostile entity were to attack.
Well your not wrong
You are right :/
your "wire" monster is called bacteria, and async already knew about it before as evident by "motion detected", "autopsy report" and "missing persons" videos that have earlier date stamps, the whole idea behind the async corporation is that they clearly know much more than researchers they send out, its especially evident in missing persons videos as async traps their own researchers and even kills 1 that escaped.

Entity
I feel like Async's next logical step would be experimenting on how to kill the creature and what the parts of the creature could be used for
If Async is smart they could call in the US Military..
It seems like async is shutting down the project so none of these things escape
Three things i love about this video:
First is the subtle shock and horror on the researchers' faces as they study the video and reach the part with the entity.
I did some lip reading @ 3:52 and here's the closest I could get:

"No, [???] [???] [???] safe now."

"Okay, okay. / Got it, of course. / For sure, I understand"

I think we're definitely into "part 2" of the backrooms series. We've gone from sheer mystery and investigation to ASYNC starting to become aware of the true danger and malice lurking in the backrooms. The soundtrack also reflects this. The first "volume" sounds like "what's going on" and the newer ones feel more like "we've messed up"
Or maybe we've reached the end of the series
Yknow with them boarding things up like that

What?
it definitely looks like its being wrapped up cause that ending shows us they are blocking it up
did you just have a stroke or something?
This guy is 16 years old and he’s able to go beyond what any UA-camr has done by including actors, telling a cryptic horror story, and doing VFX all by himself. This dude deserves credit for all this! Props to you Kane!
hes literally of higher quality and standards than all of modern Hollywood combined.
yet another reason to feel invalidated about my current skills and talents as a 18 year old
Tbf, he never said he was working alone. Seeing the actors and combo of video and audio editing / voice actors, etc. I'm sure there's at least some help from outside sources. I mean, how would you even fund something like this at 16?
@@Excalibur2 I can imagine he has many of contributors, and his merch is possibly doing very good sales wise. Plus, his channel is doing phenomenal, so I assume his youtube check is nice too. He’s 16 years old, a perfect age to create without having the stress of bills, family, household, and mortgages..
Kane is going to be a huge name in the future of film making, that’s for sure, and I’m even more sure there are investors that know his potential- and, want to back him fully. He’s a great investment to push, because he’s destined to be great in his lane.. I’d definitely fund whatever project he has plans to do, especially looking at his analytics- you’d be a fool not to do, if you’re financially able to do so.

This is excellently crafted.
I feel like Backrooms content on UA-cam has a risk of getting stale or uninteresting very quickly if not handled right, and I'm happy to say that this series is a massive exception. Every video gets better and better, and the story being created here is genuinely intriguing. I cannot wait to see where you're gonna go with the current narrative. Seriously, well done.
Kane’s videos are by far the best, the other ‘copies’ while good, took away from the initial suspense and anxiety.

@one of one hi
@one of one yeah right I’m not clicking that
The very real possibility of there being a hostile force in the Backrooms makes sealing off that section (or at least putting a security door) there rational as the last thing they want is something actively hostile trying to come through to our side of the gateway.

I love how this whole experiment started with finding an unlimited amount of space as a storage area.

I'm amazed at the live acting quality and it really does contrast with the found footage style you used from the beginning. It gives a whole new depth to the story, almost like some sort of behind the scenes with Async. Great work !
that shot of the team in hazmat suits goes hard af
Floored.
absolutely agreed.
Sound guy here too, I'm with you, this kid must have sprung full grown from someone else's head, like Athena. Staggering, almost paranormal brilliance for the age given.
Another sound designer here. Agreed. Spot on, well observed, subtle, emotive, balanced, drives the narrative. Amazing work
Good connection of Swans, I was also thinking something of ambient drone like Synthetic Mind Decay. Dark creeping tones. Well done indeed.

@@ankurdwivedi5023 hereditary is a good movie, no doubt, but most horror movies made now aren’t all that scary.
Damn, good theory, now I'm going to have to go back and re watch informational video!
Thank you, I was trying to piece that part together. I think your spot on.
Oh, that makes a lot of sense!
But the room was in pitfalls though wasn’t it?
indeed, there was something that might've been transition in time (the moment when he just got separated)

5:13 - easily the bravest guy at Async. Working knowing what was just discovered right around the corner after the other team did a number in their pants and ran back... and doesn't even have a hazmat suit on.
Knowing these corporate types, they probably hired a random contractor, spun some bullshit about a building renovation, and told them "no no, don't worry about the loud buzzing door you just walked through. It's fine."
I know right! I don’t even know how they look at that place without getting at least mildly freaked out

The biohazardous carpeting, random pitfalls, mutated bread mold and sinister camera tripods roaming the place were believed to be minor setbacks.
