I really wish this band would of kept making music. This song is magical even to this day.
I've been coming back to this every few months since I was a teen in highschool, now I'm grown with an adult job and responsibilities but it always brings me back to how it felt hearing this song. Thank you guys, wherever you are in life now.
hey all. this is rocky formerly of we are trees. i realize you all have some burning questions from reading the comments section.
1. did we live in brooklyn?
no, we all lived in virginia beach, va. josiah moved to brooklyn briefly, then moved back to norfolk.
2. are we trust fund kids?
no. in fact josiah's dad is an optometrist, my parents own a small pest control and landscaping business, and james' parents had a chinese restaurant and he ended up moving back to taiwan with them.
3. why can't you figure out the chords?
because james is using a different tuning and I totally forgot what it was.
4. are there lenses in my glasses?
no, and i didn't get my prescription put in them until almost a year later because i was broke and living in our friend Robert's attic (which was really, really cold btw)
5. what are we up to now?
josiah is a certified massage therapist and resides in norfolk with his girlfriend bianca. she's way cool and is head chef at toast.
james is somewhere in taiwan I'm guessing. we don't talk.
i live in a tiny apartment with my roommate melissa and her two adorable dachsunds. I'm a server and bartender at peck and pour and pasha mezze.
josiah has his own project called ladada, and I have a project called bitchimightbe. l used to have a noise band called scoughs. that was super rad. i play guitar mostly nowadays.

I remember being a kid and thinking this was the biggest deal ever. Looking back, its even cooler than I remember. Im honestly shocked it didnt gain more attention than it did.
From listening to this when I was 12 and now 26. This to me is still gold ✨

I have been listening to their music since I discovered them more than 10 years ago.
I am probably one of the few fans in Japan.
I still play their music almost every day as background music in my Tire shop.
I would like to continue listening to their original sense of music in the future.

I'm definetely not much of a hipster :D I like mainstream charts, but prefer alternative music and interprets who do music individually.

+Fred Marquina I'm personally acquainted with them. I shared the page for the lead singer. The drummer has his own band: m.facebook.com/ladadaaaaa/ and we'll I don't know the girl well. They're all adults who've moved on with stuff. If you're curious about new music I'd check out Ladada as well as James Nee's page. He has uploads on there from Soundcloud, which is where he posts any new stuff, and wrote a lot.of material last year. He won't be uploading much new stuff for a while, probably. This song strikes so many emotions at once. I prefer this live version versus the studio, to be honest. So much more raw. And raw in the sense of pureness, not the gangster lingo.

This is a really hard song to make. Congratulations to them, they were absolutely flawless! Just perfect!
Anyone interested in the chords: IMHO it plays 3 chords: Emaj7 - F#m7 - Amaj7. But as the guitar is in a different tuning than the standard one (and has the capo) it's hard to get the exact sound but you'll be able to sound quite similar.
