When the questions "Can you elaborate a bit?" is asked, they're trying to push your speaking capabilities, in situations such as this, it is best to give more detail, and give an example. For the best IELTS tips, go to www.aehelp.com
I'm coming back here to share feedback on my real IELTS speaking test which felt like 8 minutes. You don't have the convenience for a 12-15 minutes duration speaking test, since other IELTS candidates are waiting in the exam hall for their turn, and the examiner takes 15 minutes prior to a speaking test to get ready. My suggestion to score Band 8-8.5 in a short-duration speaking test - answer the question in your first sentence, then follow it up with an example which should include date/time/location details. Use collocations (problem, solution, advantage, disadvantage, view, opinion, etc.) and essential words (like correlated, subsequent, facilitate, immense, etc.) in your responses.

What was the best furniture that others had given you? Do you play sports? What is the most played sport in your country? Do you like that sport? Part 2 Share about an experience of a embarrassing situation in public (I talked about a child throwing tantrum in public as his parents did not want to buy the toys that he wanted) Part 3 What would you do if you were the parent if the child?
