@@gitoffmahlawn Yes! Deeply incurious is the *perfect* way to describe his approach to this interview! @@skeelatheskink8724 That would make it at best concern trolling. Every question in that interview was aimed at making Kyle out to be the villain in his own self-defence story.
Why is it that when it comes to controversial topics such as firearms the media decides to go off assumptions and emotions instead of doing research? Piers didn’t look good when he had to be corrected and it’s not the first time that he has been corrected in interviews. What I do appreciate about Piers is that he doesn’t get aggressive and fight back with the guest like others do.
To be fair to Piers (dear God, what am I saying?!?), this is largely a matter of semantics. It was against the law locally for Kyle to purchase or own the firearm (hence why his friend bought it, and his friend's father stored it, with the intention that ownership would be transferred upon Kyle reaching the necessary age to do so). There was, however, a carve-out in the law that permits older minors to carry rifles or shotguns with a barrel length of 16" or longer. I would guess that the spirit of that law was to allow such minors to get into hunting at an earlier age, but the letter of the law wasn't specifically written to limit such permission to carry to only be for the purposes of hunting. In other words, they were both right. Piers was right that Kyle couldn't legally have (own) the rifle, while Kyle was right that he COULD legally have (carry) it.
@@kevreeduk222If I may, the spirit of the law was specifically written so that handguns that were used in street violence were restricted from minors but that minors were allowed to carry ordinary rifles. They didn't make the exception to older minors carrying firearms from a broad restriction on firearm carrying (itself a 2A violation but not arguing that point now), but rather the exception was to narrow the scope of the original statue under which Kyle was charged and ultimately dropped because ADA Binger and Kraus can't actually read very well (They were really poor at their task, or good depending how you see it). @@dylanwarwick4429 Thanks for the clarification. ....one was a convicted sex offender......you found it " the smoking gun" ( pun intended) that there proves Kyle was not only defending himself, but, you know, this guy had it coming.
I've given this a bit of thought and I'm wondering if this simply didn't go as Piers had planned. Perhaps he had it in his mind that he was going to "rehabilitate" his image with some of the haters by drawing out statements of regret and remorse. But I think what Piers didn't take into account is that this young man lived through this horrific night and has continued to live with it every day for over 3 years. But for him to have regrets for the outcome of that night would be for him to regret choosing to live. Asking him to have empathy for the vile people who would have killed him is absurd. They showed no empathy for him or concern over killing him.
Empathy is what separates us form most animals. Obviously Kyle has none, I mean I have seen relatives of victims forgive murderers.
@@kevreeduk222If I may, the spirit of the law was specifically written so that handguns that were used in street violence were restricted from minors but that minors were allowed to carry ordinary rifles. ....one was a convicted sex offender......you found it " the smoking gun" ( pun intended) that there proves Kyle was not only defending himself, but, you know, this guy had it coming.
Piers was gentle and fair? ROFLMAO
That kid needs to be in jail
"controversial", because he legally defended himself.

Nothing private about this militia.
Kyle is so unaware of his role in this whole case, that he looks and sounds like a psychopath, only concerned with his owned with his trauma, his life and the the money he will make with his book.
Piers needs to leave the gun debate alone . He has been destroyed on the issue countless of times
What a load of stupid questions,.. Everyone trying to get either guilt or regret... Do you think it's right to be able to carry the gun that saved his life.... Naaah should only be able to carry a water pistol.
he needs to be behind bars, karma doesnt forget.. so im not too worried,
The jury found him innocent but the man above will give final judgement and send him to the place he needs to go lol, he going go the big H
Ouch, I feel dumber for hearing that.
Shockingly misread the room here, Piers. Karl handled himself admirably under pressure of this interview, for one so young.
He shot a Jew and you know how unforgiving they are
Piers was trying to get Kyle to say how symptomatic he may feel towards the victims family and friends. Appropriate? He handles himself very well considering his age and circumstances.
I’m disgusted. He didn’t ask him to condemn Humas. 😂
He went somewhere and had a weapon and killed two people. My black friend had someone come to his house with a gun and he defended himself but he is prison. Self defense or stand your ground rarely applies to black people.
@@Tony38533 "Jacob Blake had a knife and the very sight of that knife is what the police called a serious threat and a reasonable belief to use lethal force. So an officer shot Blake in the back 4 times and in the side 3 times. The cops did that over the threatening sight of a knife."
Oh calm TF down, Nancy. They didn't shoot him 7 times over "the sight of" the knife, or else they would have ventilated his azz long before he made it to the car door.
They shot him because, as he tried getting into HIS GF'S car WITH THEIR 3 KIDS SITTING IN THE BACK SEAT, Ofc Sheskey grabbed his shirt in a final effort to prevent his escape, car theft, and kidnapping.
And when Shesky grabbed his shirt, Black swung the knife in his right hand at Sheskey, so Sheskey FINALLY lit him up. He showed remarkable restraint until then.
It's very interesting to me that Piers doesn't seem to understand that a radicalized man had a pistol pointed at this boy's face, had another man attempting to beat his face in with a 7-ply maple piece of wood with two metal trucks, and had more men attempting to remove his firearm from him at the time. It was all recorded thankfully for this kid. What would Piers have done if he found himself in the same situation?
God forbid he tell his side of the story
He's been smeared by the media. They've told one lie after the next. I hope it's a best seller that goes beyond the conservative base.
Kyle is actually a good man. He is not a crazy lunatic far right extremist as some people accusing him. Kyle, you are the man. You did what you had to do.
Should he have been there that night? No
Should he have brought his gun at that age? No
Did he make the right decision to protect himself and would we have all done the same in his situation? Absolutely
It's the 1st 2 questions that people seem to not understand. Dude was a minor at the time. The property he was "patrolling" wasn't his residence. It's near impossible to get your 17yo in the US military without goin through waivers. And somehow, we are supposed to ignore all that. 🤦🏾♂️
I don't disagree, but it is sad, when a simpletons actions led to deaths.
@@royboy4571
The simpletons being the party that chose to aggress an armed individual for no valid reason.
Class and tact go right out the window for Piers on this one. He got owned.
The Founders said nothing about "being a part of a well-regulated militia". They said one was necessary to the security of a free state. This gives a reason for, not the only reason for and not a limitation on, the right of the people (not the militia...the PEOPLE) to keep and bear arms.
Full support for Kyle
Those were legitimate questions.
@@jron5113 No, those were loaded questions designed to make viewers hate Kyle. Called him a murderer despite the fact Kyle was the victim defending himself from multiple violent attackers- as confirmed by the court ruling. This whole interview was an attempted character assassination; Piers is an absolute slimeball.
20 year old killer in the title has me ROLLING
The title should read 20 year old HERO
Absolutely fitting of the cowards to change the title only for notifications.
@@shefalichow7917 May not be only for notifications. It's also possible to vary title by viewing region.
@@jimbobjimbob8275 are you a hero for defending yourself but not necessarily saving anybody?
@@redbellum When the same people attacking you, are rioting and could potentially harm other innocents, yes.
Kyle is a hero and a role models 😊
To be clear, I'm upvoting KYLE, not Piers.
The idiots that attacked him are to blame!!!!! Come on Morgan
Once again, Piers is embarrassing himself. Kyle Rittenhouse did NOT do anything wrong. If the 2 punks that had did what they did left Rittenhouse alone, none of this would have happened.
Kyle is a HERO and absolute proof that 2A is a basic human right
The 2nd amendment and its defence, nothing more American.
I am aware the UN has listed basic human rights, but don't recall the right to bear arms.
The adherence and worship of a 250 year old constitution, which is obviously not completely fit for purpose any more.
But what else would you expect from a country that believes in a supernatural being who blesses America every day.
Yee ha !
Piers doesn't realize how young the founding fathers were.
where did your founding fathers come from?
I MIGHT HAVE FELT LIKE HE MADE A MISTAKE BUT NOW I HATE HIM BECAUSE HE IS DEFENDING HIS ACTIONS YUCK
Typical piers Morgan only preying upon emotions and not looking at facts
His answers were scripted maybe not to the tee but he has an outline cause he was informed by his lawyers that other prosecutors would love to make a political statement by trying to get him arrested for something else.
Scripted? Lol
Piers was trying to paint a lie in this dude so hard and literally got caught in a Lie
He is on a press tour and when you get asked the same questions 10 times in a day or 2 why would you say the answer differently? Go home kiddy/gun grabbers
He didnt even acknowledge the families of the people he murdered. One of which tried to stop him from shooting the first person.
He would have had to murder someone to have needed to do that. And no the 2nd person was not anywhere near the scene of the first shooting. You really should look into getting better sources of information, unless of course you're just lieing@@Jayess-c
The redcoat wants to take our güns? I'm shocked. Except I'm not. I'm pretty sure this argument was settled at the Battle of Lexington and Concord.
low blow from piers on this one.
Pierce trying to sound all deep and shit but he's just a twodge wobbler.
I'm a far-left Democrat who supports gun control, and I thought some of Piers Morgan's questioning here was a little unfair. Kyle was very mature and well-spoken here, regardless of how you feel about his political views.
@th-sd6ni, as a far-leftist, I respect your honesty.
Love how in a really eloquent way, Kyle basically told Piers where to go, for asking him the same question hahahaaaa
