I picked up on that too, she might want to be very thin to appear younger, some pedo females like to look almost prepubescent and they have an aversion to full figure or overweight people in general. I want to know more about her past I wonder what type of childhood Collen had, if she was SA it still does not give her the right to abuse. It seems the whole family or at least the siblings are the same way.

I made this connection when I first saw her apology (through another creator ofc cause I wasn’t going to give her the view) and I found it to be an unnecessary line but something that probably made her feel like she would be sympathized with because of it. Without the body checking context you’d just think she was making a corny joke about her weight and with context it’s weaponizing her weight as a way to make other feel bad.

The problem is that so many men don’t see they’ve been sexually assaulted/abused and when I’ve pointed that out, their response is “well I enjoyed it” which is so heartbreaking. Men are being sexually assaulted and aren’t even aware of how damaging it is to them.

@@AntoinetteChanel yeah.. I wouldn't do it ever. I'm extra conscious that if I do it and it seems okay, they also won't question it if another, less trustworthy adult says the same, because they'll associate it with the instance involving me.

I wish someone told me this when I was younger. I had an adult manipulate me as a minor and told me not to tell anyone. I ended up telling some close friends, but not my parents bc I was afraid. Nothing sexual happened, but my parents finally found out after a friend told their parent and they told mine. My parents then pulled me out of the situation. To this day, I have no clue what this person’s intentions were, but knowing what I know now, even if it truly wasn’t sexual, they were definitely up to no good. I fully intend to teach my kids that ANY secret an adult makes you promise to keep, you must IMMEDIATELY come to me or my husband.

Adults discussing their adult problems with children is disgusting and disturbing to me. It’s so damaging, and selfish. They are knowingly burdening and robbing kids of their childhood, and blurs and is very indicative of a predatory individual. Thank you Swoop, for making it crystal clear that kids should never apologize for being naive, because they’re children, and should never have been in that situation in the first place. When you said that, I teared up as someone who was subjected to that abuse as a child.

It's so difficult to explain to those who haven't experienced these things firsthand (not that anyone should ever have to, it's just often too much to put into words). Sending porn to minors is literally illegal. Was congress just too sensitive when they approved Title 18 of the federal criminal code? The rest would still have been considered immoral 20 years ago. This is exactly the kind of predatory behavior we warned kids about in the early days of the internet. Are you a very young mother? Colleen is a bad person but she is NOT a narcissist. God, I was raised by a covert narc mother. Years of therapy. Every therapist has told me (diagnosed borderline here) being raised by a narc parent/caregiver makes you either a narc yourself or have BPD or some other cluster B personality disorder. Rarely you come out with any mental illness from a narc parent. Having a narc parent AND BPD also makes you double more likely to date a narc which unfortunately my past relationship was that. Colleen is bad, narcissists are much MUCH MUCH MUCH worse. You don't even KNOW the half of it. This makes my blood boil when people use these terms incorrectly because what I and so many other children of narc parents went through is compared to.... this? What we went through as kids is much much worse. Narcissistic abuse is considered some of the worst types of abuse, so this is a slap in the face to any victim of narcissistic abuse. NEVER use that word again until you do years of research on the topic. Thanks for hurting and downplaying narcissistic abuse victims. Lovely

@@hotpinkkt Hi, also raised by a narc, and I disagree that Colleen can't be a narc. I think the jury out. She definitely shows warning signs to me of the victimized narc, and I don't think we can diagnose her over the internet. I'm aware she has had an unusual and toxic upbringing that may have indeed left her with some sort of mental health challenges. To write a SONG playing victim, to sing about her "bony little back" in it, to cry about how she "won't survive the attacks" while also admitting the behaviour part way as she denies it.... the mental gymnastics all remind me of my mother when she was cornered with irrefutable proof of her abuses. She would deflect, she would go on about her own pain, etc etc etc. She's love bombed and withdrawn affection alternately, her Jekyll/Hyde moods with Adam ring true for me. I DO AGREE people use the term way too easily, but Swoop didn't use it lightly. Perhaps instead of going off so hard on a commenter, let's leave room for the fact that we don't know Colleen as well as her victims, and that there are multiple types of narc?

Going back and rewatching because I had no context for any of this drama before watching the whole series, and I wanted to hear it again after watching part 4. The difference in body language between you and Adam talking in the first interview and all the camaraderie in the back and forth in episode 4 is significant. You can see how much more he trusts you, and to me that speaks to how much you have a) both been through in the last few months b) how much time you’ve probably been through behind the scenes supporting this young man. I can imagine how healing that feels for him at this stage, having a public figure who is actually in his corner and isn’t asking anything of him, and wants to protect him and all the others affected by all this toxicity. I have so much respect for how you approach people, Swoop. My only hope for you is, that this whole series isn’t something that consumes you, and that you’re taking care of yourself and can take some time off for self care when it’s done. I’ve been in circumstances where the drama and absolute mess of other people’s lives consumed my own, well past the point of being at all healthy. When mess feels so all-encompassing that it’s all you’re thinking about and dealing with, ESPECIALLY when it’s not yours but you feel the need to hold it for others, it can eat you alive. I believe you, and you’re probably right about them being a victim as well. Right again that you don’t have to forgive her. When I was five, my nine year old friend who had been groomed by his family forced me to give him oral sex.
Kids that young don’t THINK that way unless they were exposed to something, y’know?

A female friend of mine (I was probably 7-8 & her a year or two older) freaked me out playing "house" one day before I stopped being allowed around her. I was just carrying around my bear pretending to be a new mom making dinner (leaves in a bucket of water) & then she started talking about how she "needed to get pregnant" & was talking about what "mommies & daddies do" & pulled her dress up & started humping a pillow making noises that I didn't recognize at the time. She knew WAY too much & told & showed ME way too much that day.
Not long after my parents stopped letting me be around her, the man who lived with her grandfather got arrested & my Nana refused to tell me what happened with their family or why they moved & I never saw her again. 🙃

What she did to Adam was downright cruel. Even if the grooming part hadn't happened (which it clearly did)... turning on him, blaming him publically for that tweet, cutting him off when she knew he believed they were actual friends, ostricizing him from his online friends (during lockdown, no less), ruining the internet for him... at one of the most difficult ages to survive that kind of isolation, embarrassment, loss of friendships, and online bullying to a degree most teenagers will never experience. Even if that were all she'd done: it would've been more than enough. It's just plain cruel.
And what she did to Trisha Paytas, too. It's a different thing and Trisha isn't a kid but she is a person who Colleen calls a friend. Mean - just mean. She actually seems legitimately sadistic. The animals? Talking to kids with EDs about how much she loves thinness? Getting off on watching her fans bully other fans in her defense and for her amusement. Asking for videos of kids doing absolutely ridiculous things (like putting tampons in their mouths) just so she can revel in knowing that she can make demands and watch the results roll in - like some kind of test where those who send a video will be her go-to kids when she has dirty work that needs doing.

I started crying when Swoop said that you're strong and will make it through. My groomer never got to meet me face to face- but he did normalize sexualization to the point he would coerce me into having cyber sex everyday. He was only a bit olde than me, but I call it grooming because I told him multiple times it was illegal and wrong and he stil pushed for sexual contact to be normalized to the point he made me send nudes and the cyber sex stuff... I honestly never thought it would end and I got fooled into believing that if he left me I would be nothing anymore. To see that some people are able to get justice, when I never can or will for the multiple instances in my life I was SAed and groomed, makes me feel happy for them. I am glad when people can publicly say and get justice for what these evil people did. I am sorry for what you went through too, my groomer actually does know my address and I do get scared everyday to even go outside in fear he possibly is in my area trying to get me again. I didn't speak up about it until I was 13 and for so long I thought I was over it and after nearly 3 years of trauma therapy I thought I had no emotions connected with it.
But the speech at 1:43:26 made my inner child feel a sense of peace she never got before.

I was diagnosed with insomnia and depression, I was told to drink more water, and basically to do everything that I was already doing, and I felt like I was going insane because nothing helped with the pain. I'd like to point out Mirroring is usually a normal part of a healthy relationship. It doesn't mean either one is narcissist. It's normal to mirror habits unconsciously, when you are in love with someone. The more time you spend with your loved one, the more you might notice you tend to do similarly to him/her. Small things, like yawning the same way. It's important to make this clear, because especially younger people can take the mirroring part as a sign of a toxic relationship when it's not at all. Combined to everything else on the list, yes, it CAN be a sign of a narcissist but if you're not a licenced therapist or a doctor, you shouldn't go thru lists and diagnose others alone. Mirroring on its own certainly does not even suggest narcissistic behaviour. I've survived a relationship with one, so I should know.

You’re right that Miranda was initially popular with Broadway fans and grown adults. I started watching Miranda back in 2008 when I was a teenager, and I went to see her magic show in 2010. I don’t recall there being a lot of young kids at that show, but it was at a venue where you had to be 14 and older.

Me too. If she's just barely trying to hide on camera, I can only imagine how much worse it is off camera.
Literally anything can change a kid. And their self esteem.
I became self conscious about how skinny I was due to my mom talking about it a lot especially after the pediatrician brought it up every appointment.
It doesn't bother me as much anymore but my eating habits are still suffering.
And my mom didn't even mean to do that to me. She thought it was a compliment to how I could eat as much as I wanted and stay skinny.

Hey Swoop! Emily sent me. I’ve watched many of your docs and they are brilliant. You are so caring and compassionate and your sincerity is apparent. It’s so brave of you to open up about your past trauma. I too was victimized by a person close to my family as an 11-12 year old. I never told my mom because I didn’t want to upset her. But I spent years avoiding him as a consequence. I wish I had spoken up because in hindsight I’m sure he found other victims. It’s just so hard at that age.
Anyway, thanks for everything you do. You are lovely and you handle such difficult and painful situations with delicacy and kindness. Keep up the good work!

Unfortunately we live in a society that views women as weak and men as mindless animals who aren't allowed any kind of emotional vulnerability. If we had gender equality, both male and female victims would be treated with compassion, belief and justice, and the perpetrators would be prosecuted regularly and fairly. Patriarchy hurts everyone, even the men it's designed to benefit.

As a male survivor of repeated SA we do exist, and we need to be more open about that reality and help those who have been victimized. I’m thankful for the support of those who loved me enough to add their strength to my own as I did the hard work of being treated for late onset PTSD, and taking my life back. You’re not alone, you matter, and you can make it. 1 in 6 men and 1 in 5 women have been abused in this way. It hits me hard every time I hear about it. Thanks for making this video, and sharing your own survival story. Your strength is inspiring to many.
