There's an additional benefit of not having the stock room in the back, which is that there would be a temptation to "hide" messy or unused parts of the business back there, knowing clients would never see it. This arrangement forces the owners and staff to always keep a clean and organized shop.
This is a basic one point perspectiv drawning😂... And the symbols are drawn incohorently with perspective... But the design is good and well thought out...
@@d.chruscielewska4735 its 2 points, though. But yeah, its both simple and not perfect, he even drew a lot of the stuff free hand. The goal here was just to help others better visualize the arrangement of the elements in the room, so id say he did a pretty good job on the drawing too
The raised platform is OK but I don't like the idea of sitting on the floor. What if the client has bad knees or a big belly? I can have the raised platform but with regular height table & chairs.
Oh wow! Initially I thought put the bookcases lined up along the middle-ish of the room to kind of create a pseudo hallway from the front door to the tea space and hide the work area away from clients but your finished design is SO much better, the whole space gets to make a statement and nothing is being hidden away or closed off. Such beautiful work!
I love hearing your thought process and seeing it all come together! I appreciate your long-form content so I can hear more details. You also draw so well! ❤
Absolutely love that format! Problem first, then a good explanation, prototyping, some nice ASMR drawing, and finally the reveal. 12/10 would watch again
I love the confidence in showing the after. It's what I really appreciate about your channel, it's not just fluff, the simple steps and changes really work! Really got into your channel when everyone was sending in their spaces and asking for suggestions
Dear Modern I appreciate all the attention to detail. The lighting, the placement of furniture, the raising of the tea tasting area near the window and the welcome space with seating and work tables. I thank You for this extended creative sharing. I send a smile from Canada.
I love the tea room at the window. People complain about sitting on the floor, but it is a critical part of tea ceremony and culture in China and Japan. That tea room gives off the authenticity of the shop. And obviously, it is optional to use the tea room. The most important part is the tea quality, and you don't need to sit in the tea room to enjoy the tea. That tea room would be useful when the owner needs to discuss a deal with important client.
I just love how fast he draw everything and how then he took his sweet time in the calligraphy and the shadows ❤❤❤❤ Also, the screws as art make my happy every time!
I always love to watch your videos when I feel like stuff is happening. I just chill, and focus on arranging my room, focus on the stuff I can control.
Beautiful! Patting myself on the back for identifying that same spot for the "work zone" and creating a nice hallway for customers to walk to the back. But I never would have thought of the counter-dining table combination or raised platform! Excellent as always
Ok so i watched some of your videos and i found that my desk is actually in a very bad position- i sit in front of the window with a very nice view and i don't want to give up the view, it helps me to relax. On the other hand, the door is on the right side behind me. The room is very narrow and the desk cannot be placed differently without me losing the view. So i thought of something: I added a carpet that frames the desk and chair. Plus i added a light curtain to the door frame (the door has to stay open because of our cats). Now, my room mate is a bit mad at me because she thought i wanted to keep her out, but i explained to her that this was because of energy flows. Not sure she understood. Anyway, i feel it helps. I feel better sitting at my desk and not so much bothered by the open door behind me. Its not an ideal solution, but still, i tried my best. Thanks for the many good tips!
Oh, TEA!! I was barely a minute in and had to rewind a couple of times then finally turned on the CC. Tea was not what I was hearing. 😅 Beautiful work as always!
I enjoyed the drawing lesson too. i normally don't have the patience to watch people draw (like some of those horrible AI videos) but this was delightful. Thanks!
I love your videos, and I've been practicing drawing perspective from your designs so it was super nice to see you design the room itself, I took a lot of pointers from it!
nice job!! I was a little worried when you first just threw that table and chairs in the window room. But you came after and raised the floor and added a floor table!! super sweet solution.
'Just want to share a similar solution that my friend did in her 28sqm apartment. She used a platform as extra storage with doors that lift up to open. The platform works as a bed at night where she spreads a "tatami" mat and adds a lightweight mattress for more comfort. With the bulk of the storage on a horizontal plane, the small space looks spacious. She added an office work desk and a cushioned bench with storage underneath.
I love this! I love the way it turned out and I love how unexpected it is - most people would never come up with that without hiring someone (like yourself). Before you started I had similar ideas but it wouldn't have come out nearly as nice. It looks fantastic, and I hope business is booming. To me it reqlly highlights how important design is. Your productivity and well-being are affected but your actual business success will be as well. You know they're doing more/better business with this space than the original idea would've been. This inspires ease and confidence. Love your channel!
I LOVE your videos!! Whenever I have a room or space I need to reorganize/rearrange, I will make an excel spreadsheet with an outline of the room in as exact measurements as possible. Then I make little rectangles, circles to represent furniture and that way I can just move things around on screen vs in real life which is tiresome LOL.
Fabulous. It reminds me of my art and massage studio, with lower ceilings. My studio has a very high ceiling with pipe and a full water sprinkling system, ! It’s a cool 1930s building and most walls are exposed brick. Over the massage table I created a cosy zone by having a canopy over it in a circle created with wood Japanese screens. This tea room could benefit from also hiding the over head lights with such drapes. Part of why I did it was to consider breaking up the hard lines above the peaceful zone on the concrete ceiling and light strips. I would share a photo if I could :-) I hope to continue developing the space. I had thought that a Japanese raised platform tatami mats would be perfect for giving shiatsu massage as well as baby massage classes.
Really interesting to see how you designed it and all the things you take into consideration. You explain the process very well in an engaging manner. The drawing really brings it to life. Love to see more of these. Also the screw light fittings are ingenious! Is all the mini furniture you use for these displays a standard architectural tool or something you have made yourself?
Paint the laundry door the same colour as the wall and paint the entry door something else. Your eyes will naturally look at the contrast and blend the laundry door into the wall
Fabulous ideas and beautiful design, as always, but I wish you'd come up with a different solution for the tea room. The raised platform makes the space no longer handicap accessible, which will limit the range of customers the client can accommodate.
Thanks for showing us the journey from empty space, to floor plan, to perspective drawing, to furnished real space. I'm sure they are glad they engaged you to advise them about this project. The only problem, as others have mentioned, is accessibility for those who can't navigate the step up to the platform, and can't use the floor cushions.
Freaking just LOVE your ideas and functional and thoughtful use of specific spaces & so I can only hope that you will possibly help me figure out how to best utilize my apartment studio space especially with my dog and existing furniture such as 2 unique futons one that’s less comfy(personally my opinion..😅😂) and the slightly stiffer couch during that also can be used as 2 chairs..
Could you do a video about front entrances, what must be there, what should not be there and how things change if you have a front yard or not and if that yard is open or fenced
It looks great, but I wonder about accessibility. The step up and sitting on the floor might be difficult for some people. Still, it is a good use of the space.
You only need an electric kettle to serve tea, I suspect they can just plug it in anywhere nice and it will serve just as well- need a sink or many bottles of water though.
I've watched a few of your desk placement videos but I havent seen an example of walking into an office with a window on the right. I assume the comand position would be to have my desk facing the door and the window to the left but I'm unsure and would love some clarification. Thank you!
Do you have any remedy’s for placement of desk (I face southwest/west when sitting there) my Kua # is 4 and says I shouldn’t face that way but it feels like the only space I can place my desk with good chi energy flowing. 😅
There's an additional benefit of not having the stock room in the back, which is that there would be a temptation to "hide" messy or unused parts of the business back there, knowing clients would never see it. This arrangement forces the owners and staff to always keep a clean and organized shop.
Very stressful 😊
Great point👍
I didn’t realise you could draw that well and now I know

This content works, not just because he has a wonderful manner and humour but is incredibly skilled. Loved this episode.
The addition of the raised platform is genius! I would have never even thought to do something like that! I learn so much from your videos!
This is however a problem for accessibility.
and also costs a metric ton, and when you don't own the space it's even worse @@Hjijkgfhjghfj

This is visual therapy!!
I love seeing the longer clips as well!!
I like how he oriented the model so that the light comes in the direction of the window.
Watching someone draft is so much fun. I did it for years as a designer. I'm glad it's still a skill that is appreciated.
That's GENIUS. I would have never thought of any of this. It looks so professional and natural.
I love how you walked us through all that visually. As someone who doesn't have your gift and talent, your craft is art in itself!
I love the confidence in showing the after. It's what I really appreciate about your channel, it's not just fluff, the simple steps and changes really work!
Really got into your channel when everyone was sending in their spaces and asking for suggestions
I am today years old when I realize that the lamp or standing decorations you always use is a screw 😂
So creative, love it 💯

It would be so cool if you did a bunch of these commercial and retail space ideas! Love this!
This has taught me so much about interior design. 10/10
Please do more for classrooms! My elementary 3-4 grade are in classes with no windows. Please Please please!

Loved watching you draw this whole, beautiful detailed rendering after showing us the design part. It was almost like an ASMR thing - very soothing!
I just realized how important it is to bpth have humor and be able to film videos while working like this guy, very good
The asmr and soft talking feels like Bob Ross but architecture
It was so awesome to see the actual final look
I would appreciate more of this type of content when you can. It's relaxing and also learning
You describe things so well; straight up images in my head from your descriptions alone :)
Beautiful! Patting myself on the back for identifying that same spot for the "work zone" and creating a nice hallway for customers to walk to the back. But I never would have thought of the counter-dining table combination or raised platform! Excellent as always
I love watching him draw. The tiny models are cute but I love seeing the vision.

This needs to be pinned. I've made a face, that made other people in the room concerned, that I've seen some horrific news or something like that.

Oh wow what nice video ! More of this please 🙏 the sound of the drawing and shading was so soothing.
I enjoyed the drawing lesson too. i normally don't have the patience to watch people draw (like some of those horrible AI videos) but this was delightful. Thanks!
This video was so relaxing... I really enjoyed every single minute of it. Your art and work are amazing! Loved it!!❤
He's like Bob Ross, minus the big fluffy hair :)
You continue to amaze. Thank you for sharing your education, imagination and talent!
It's incredible how with just the right strokes and circles you manage to materialise this whole space. SO, when's the next book out?😁
the vibes in that shop would be wonderful!
I love your videos, and I've been practicing drawing perspective from your designs so it was super nice to see you design the room itself, I took a lot of pointers from it!
Loved watching your drawing process! Thank you for sharing this with us.
nice job!! I was a little worried when you first just threw that table and chairs in the window room. But you came after and raised the floor and added a floor table!! super sweet solution.
Enjoyed this longer breakdown and the sketch walkthrough as well

Thanks for the sketching demo 😃. It was calming to follow the whole process...even at 5x the speed 😁
Excellent thinking! I’ve learned a lot thank you❤
I could watch you drawing for hours ❤

Amazing!!! Makes me feel happy to be an architect
Hi Cliff.. thank you for your great videos that give me a rational way of planning. Lot's of love from Israel ❤
I can feel your anguish over the Window AC centerpiece.
My first thought was that the client area should be where the light is to make a good impression. The end result was a major upgrade!
I could watch you draw all day 🤩
really love the way you use traditional way to draw 3d view instead of using 3d model like Sketchup or 3Dsmax
Genius and very glad it came back on my algorithm
The sound of the speeded up pencil 👌 soooo nice!
That Leaf Tea painting looks unreal! It’s very eye catching with the shadows you’ve created!!
That was such an awesome demo of your sketching, as well as your design skills.

I like this longer type video more because it gives more a chance to show things like floor chairs flying away 😂😂😂
I love your impressive design ❤. Your wonderful.
Love your longer videos.
would love to see more long form videos like this!
Makes me want to start my own business! Of what I'm not sure....
Honestly, you should sell a kit of these small models online. Could imagine this would be flying. fyi, love your content.
Question!🤚 in the case of two front doors how do you let your guests know which door to choose? (The doors are right next to each other)
A few questions for you: Is it a business? Are they glass doors? Does the other door get used at all?
@@christina9725 it’s a regular house door out of wood, the other door enters to the laundry room.
Maybe make the door you don’t want guests to use similar to the surrounding house structure.
@@meow1178Label the doors “entry” and “Laundry”.

Did you create or find these model pieces? I’d like to buy or 3D print them at a good scale
Very nice, such talent! 🌿♡ I SO wish I could afford you to help me with my very small living room! 😢
Brilliant! 🙌🫶
Hi Cliff! Would you mind sharing where you got those 3D printed furniture? I'd like to print some for me
