Thx for putting Ghostwatch and The Last Broadcast on my radar!
Ghostwatch was goofy fun. The Last broadcast is the better of the two in my opinion.
One of my most-liked subgenres! My moovies favorites are: The Blair Witch Project (1999) and The Bay (2012).
come on these are mainstream…. theres ton of better ones! CREEP and CREEP2 is good. REC too. enjoy!
and V/H/S
Blair Witch Project and Lake Mungo always work in my book. Still getting the creeps from these.
I've not seen Lake Mungo yet
This is just brilliant! When Host came out, I was teaching online 6 hours a day. Just the fact that it was a Zoom horror freaked me out completely.
I love found footage. When it’s done right.
I love horror movies, your videos and your accent(I´'m practicing my English and you speak very clearly, thanks!☺)
[•REC] will always be my favorite found footage horror movie. Their take on zombies is phenomenal. It's sad that they couldn't explore it more since they fell off badly.
It's a great film.
So I don't know if this can technically be called "found footage" but there's a 2015 film called SavageLand that I just watched on Tubi a week or two ago. The movie is basically set up as a crime documentary about an illegal immigrant being charged for killing an entire town on the border of Mexico and Arizona, since he was the only survivor of that place. Basic gist is that the poor guy gets railroaded by racist court systems and no one really questions all the evidence discrepancies. After the trial, the survivor's old camera is found and released for evidence, and there are some EXTREMELY creepy photos of what actually happened that night. The photos are beautiful and scary, and the movie is just all-around good. I'd recommend it if you're looking for something a bit different!
It seems to me that current trends help answer the question of filming. We have seen that when some car crash, or fight, or whatever happens, there are a bunch of people there recording it on their phones; they aren't helping, they aren't calling for help, they are just "documenting" whatever is going on.
It doesn't help to have 30 people calling the police about the same thing
I thought Spree was quite underrated - it was a little blunt in its message but I enjoyed it thoroughly
Paranormal Activity came out in September 2009, not 2007. I see it misidentified all over UA-cam. Love your work, Sarah!
It was first released in 2007 at film festivals, the theatrical release was in 2009
Got that exact t-shirt. What a banger
Isn't it awesome!
I like how organized and thoughtful your content its. Great work!
I really love Ghost Watch. I know people nowadays make fun of the fact that it was banned, but I think it’s so well made and is such a fun thing for the channel to do and have well-known journalists and anchors be a part of.
I agree, when you think about the time it was created and the REAL news anchors being in on the prank, its a priceless piece of media!
I can't wait to watch this one. I think it's a fantastic idea.
@@whatthehorrorso I just got back from seeing Late Night with the Devil. I think it would count as found footage, and I kept thinking about Ghost Watch while watching it, which is a favorable comparison. So I suggest that one too if you haven’t seen it!
@@notoriouskib I haven't yet but I was thinking of watching it when it drops on Shudder. But there is a discussion and some controversy around it.
Great job as always, Miss Sarah!
We'll never get to experience horror on the level we did, when the Blair witch project first came out. Everyone I knew at the time truly believed it was real. It made us question reality. Haha. People who didn't experience that fear, truly missed out. It also helped that I was a teenager that was ready to believe anything.
I live in alicante province.. and all of our buildings have that REC vibe
Alicante in Spain?
@@whatthehorror yeah... Barcelona adjacent by far.. so I get the creepy buildings
That was a great video. Keep them coming
This was well put together, SUBBED!
Thank you so much
I love your channel so much
Aw, thank you
that was awesome
Woulds something like Archive 81 be considered found footage? I know the story is not told entirely through footage but it is a major plot device and exposition revealer.
Can I suggest stop motion..looks equal parts freaky and stop motion, which I love
Please make video on lake mungo
The Legend of Boggy Creek (1972) is the grandad of found footage.
Not heard of that one
@@whatthehorror Give it a watch. Frightened me as a child. Very atmospheric.
I only watch unfound footage horror movies. They are admittedly pretty boring as not much is happening, but for what it's worth they do allow for a lot of speculation. Only speculation, really, but still!
Just to mess with the algrt
Man, I hate no-attention-span people; I miss your full intro. ☹
Same!
I'm glad you liked it but I got complaints that it was too long 🤷🏻♀️
@@whatthehorror Those people are dumb. Don't listen to dumb people. I'd dislike your comment, but I don't want to penalize you for dumb people, lol.
Evolution? They all follow the same basic template. The only films doing anything different are the V/H/S series and all the indie filmmakers making shorts.
