The Omen 1976 is one of my most rewatched movies ever. I must confess I didn't expect a lot from this prequel, but, Gosh, how wrong I was! I actually went to the cinema twice, and that was worth the trip. It was incredibly immersive, every shot is a piece of art, the characters development is satisfying, and the acting is fabulous! I actually didn't mind at all the predictability - that's a prequel, after all and, as you said, we all know where it's going. Oh, and the soundtrack? Again, the original movie's is one of my top favourite, and I expected a looot from The First Omen's, too. And, my Goodness, it was top notch! I loved this movie the first time; fell deeply in love the second time.
4:42 / The First Omen is a great prequel to an alternate Omen franchise. Screenrant reported back in January that the jackal would no longer be the mother in order to provide a "human element".There are a few changes to Father Brennan's character as well. Outside of that, It's a great film. I can see Disney wanting to continue the Omen franchise after this one.
Excellent review of and absolutely EXCELLENT film. I'm planning to see it at least one more time before it leaves theaters, it's that good. The score and sound design, combined with the gorgeously rich and textural and beautifully composed cinematography, make this one of the best big budget, big studio horror films in ages. There are the odd story issues at which one could nitpick, but the film not only serves its purpose in providing backstory and queuing up the original film, but it oh-so-intriguingly sets up a potential concurrent continuing storyline which - if they bring back all the talent behind this one - I’d be more than onboard for. Seriously, now that David Gordon Green has (thankfully) leapt from the burning wreckage of that utterly embarrassing Exorcist reboot, they should hand that franchise over to the lady genius behind this film as well. To me, this is a legacy continuation done right.
It was another fantastic religious movie. Some of the 70s scenes seemed authentic, that yellow glow is reminiscent of the 1970s, and the easy listening music at the beginning was spot on for Europe at that time. The Immaculate just pips this because it isn't tied to an original.
I loved the movie People were saying that the plot is predictable but I personally didn't see the twist coming Big up Arkasha Stevenson and Nell Tiger Free!❤

I too enjoyed the first Omen and look forward to this one now.
I always look forward to your reviews. Thank you for posting this!
I was reluctant to see another remake/prequel but this was better than I expected. Nell was attractive, likable and creepy.

Have you seen The Changeling, 1980, with George C. Scott?
Oh man I love that film!
I became a huge fan of NTF from the Apple TV show Servant. She gave such a fantastic performance and that show really went under the radar
that scene with her when she comes out of the cab and is convulsing is terrifying. I was like WTF

LOVED LOVED LOVED this movie! I get easily scared and don't always enjoy jump scares. this was the perfect amount of scary without traumatizing me
Glad you loved it too
I really enjoyed this movie
Great review! This film was really good 🎉
My wife(who normally doesn’t like horror) agreed to go see this. Which meant bingeing the original trilogy.😀 we both enjoyed the prequel.
I would love to see more Folk horrors like The Witch made also.
Can't wait to see it!
