Thanks for being clear & even providing product links! These might seem like small tasks but doing this kinda stuff blindly can cause a fatal mistake without good guidance for most normies.
Awesome. Thank you for the videos about this laptop. I just purchased this as my first gaming laptop and have learned a lot from your last two videos. Just curious, if you end up upgrading your ram, will you be making a video on how to do it?
My one concern is how much of a bend the heat sink causes in my SSD, my only hope is that with time the themal pad will flatten out and the copper will bend back more, and it'll even out, because right now the drive looks arched.
Lifesaver. Thanks a lot. I was about to remove that white rubber following several comments on forums. Why isn't there a white rubber under the main ssd stick?
Are you able to get the RAM to run at 3200? My same Omen can only run at 2933ish. Multiplier seems to peak at 14.67 instead of 16. Checked via hwinfo64 and cpu-z. RAM is recognized as 3200, my system just can’t run at rated speeds in dual channel. It bugs me enough that I’ll probably return.
My second M.2 slot is occupied by the wifi chip, so I can't add a second internal SSD. So, I'm currently trying to figure out how to move _EVERYTHING_ onto my new SSD, including the OS (I have a M.2 SATA to USB cable for this purpose, but I don't know how to perform this process).
Right on, just got an omen go 16.1 For school, a bit over kill but I play games, so it’s just as simple as that to change the ram? It’s 2 ram slots just upgrade it with higher ram Capacity?
so how do you change the os over to the other m.2 ssd? i bought a second m.2 thats 2tb 4th gen but i bought the computer with a 512g 3rd gen so i want to move all those files over and make the 4th gen be my primary because it has a 7k read speed
You could probably use cloning software to do that, but I doubt you're going to even be able to tell the difference in your OS' performance between the two NVMe's. It's not like the difference of going from an HDD to an SSD, it'll be much more slight in practice.
All new SSDs I've seen come with data migration tools. Crucial and WDC use Acronis. Samsung uses software called Data Migration Tool. Both will clone the drive, including the OS. Only issue I have specific to the Omen was that Omen 15 Bios didn't recognize the new SSD as a selectable boot disk. I had to remove the original SSD completely and then the Omen Bios recognized it and booted to Windows 10 on the cloned SSD. Then I reinserted the original SSD and it showed up as D drive, so that old SSD can now be wiped and used as a data storage drive.
Hi. I only have 500gb of hard drive in my hp omen laptop. I just got it so I'm guessing it's a 2023 or 2024 model. I dont know much about computers.. I only use it for gaming and I'd like to add more hard drive/ storage space. What should I get? Is there a detachable drive that would work? If so what is it? Or should I get something internal? Thanks for any advice!
Im updating my HP OMEN aswell, however I have never done this before.. Will I not loose my current Softwares installed (ex: Os, other games?) Im just unaware if I have to replace the current 500gb SSD or there's another slot that I can add into it?
If it’s a brand new SSD, did you go into windows disk management to initialize it + create a partition? Also, make sure it’s PCI-E not SATA. (There are m.2 SATA drives out there)
It looked easy, but it's not... I just bought my laptop last week... it was only 500G. I wanted to install a new SSD, but I'm not sure I could do that...
This has 2 m.2 slots. Stock SSD comes in the gen 4, empty is a gen 3 I think…at least gen 3 is written on the board. I have a gen 4 SSD in both and they both work fine.
I’m a complete noob when it comes to all this. Your video was explicitly clear to follow. Thanks man!
Thanks. Never did this before got rid of the anxiety of not knowing how to do this

Thanks for sharing this, went as easy as the video shows. Wasn’t sure if I should swap the drives around but stock appears fast so I left it.
I Guess my omen 16 is different than your omen 16, I didn't have an extra SSD slot 😢

Thank you so much! Followed your guide and everything went smoothly :) cheers pal

Did it flatten out? Is everything fine a year later?
I remove the copper plate because it make bend on my double sided ssd. after removing that, it almost perfectly fits in.
Love the tutorial, happy to own such an easy laptop.
dude thank you so much for this video!
thanks man! helped me to do it all by myself perfectly :)
Glad I could help - thanks for watching!
@TechWithSean which samsung m.2 ssd is best for hp omen 17-cb0050nr laptop?
Lifesaver. Thanks a lot. I was about to remove that white rubber following several comments on forums. Why isn't there a white rubber under the main ssd stick?
Kewl 😎 thanks for the tips, Sean!
Thanks for the tutorial, i just wanted to confirm, is 2 TB the max we can install to the omen or can we go up to 4 per slot?
Thank You so much this is very helpful.
Show me your omen keyboard light set up please 😗 make a video
Mine doesn’t have a thermal pad…. Do I need one?
Nice detail. Thx

would it be ok if i put in a Samsung 980 Pro with the heatsink in this laptop or should i get the version without the heatsink?

What is your primary ssd size? I have a 512gb primary. Will it be ok to add a 1TB?
Right on, just got an omen go 16.1

Capacity?
Yep, it’s easy, just make sure to disconnect the battery before you swap the ram to be safe.
@@TechWithSean thanks buddy

0:57 what happens if i remove the thermal pad? Because i have
Om my god a white Omen 17!
can you fit a samsung 2.5 inch ssd in this laptop?
Seems that a double-sided SSD is not suitable to be installed...
I have Omen 16, will this work with the Crucial - P3 Plus 4TB Internal SSD
Yes
i hate the way they make you put in the ssd it looks like the port is gonna go flying off the board
ok so I bought a new nvme ssd 2 terabyte and decided to use my old 500gb for storage so I put it in the second slot and it did not show up at all
You might need to initialize the disk in Windows, if it’s a brand new drive that hasn’t been formatted or anything yet.
Show us this ram kit running CAS15 @3200mhz with 1.2V! Oh, wait you can't because it isn't running those specs.

should i not format the C: drive
How much ssd you can have?

I think there's another slot as he says at the end of the video that he has the original plus the new one available in the laptop
Why i dont have the screw on the 2nd slot ?
Hi, my omen 16 does not detect the second ssd

I cannot get the bottom to come off
Go slow starting at the back to sides then front. I used a credit card.

I have this laptop, does your fan whistle when it's on idle, it's irritating
Mine doesn't whistle but that fan does get pretty loud when playing graphically demanding games.
Mine also does left (cpu) fan air whistle at specific low speeds
@@UnfaehigerKanal yeah it's driving me crazy
@@nicb.1411 that's normal for all laptops
I own this laptop and I do not get whistle. I did remove the pad so I will have to open it up again to put it back on.
