Had one of these for 6 months and it was a car without a soul. It did everything well but it wasn’t exceptional at anything. It was very much lacking drama, *however* for the price point it sits at you can’t complain performance wise. Still has nothing on the c63 of course but for a baby it’s not a bad car at all.

I can see what you mean only based on this video. Misha doesn't look like he is breaking a sweat with this car. Everything works as it should and keeps the car from flying off track or even small oversteers and understeers, but the drama of driving a fast car is sometimes what gives it soul. Great car for the track and on public roads but we can see here Mercedes had more focus on comfort more than anything else I would say.
@@royliber3824it’s more becuse Misha has driven every kind of „monsters.“ like V12 engines with over 700-800hp. A small 2L 4Cylinder won’t bother his mood at the slightest

I drove a CLA45 AMG many years ago, and I'm in love with everything but the turbo lag. After the boost kicks in, it's a lil MONSTER.
Imagine being able to experience your car being driven on the ring by Micha from the passenger seat AND getting a full video of the lap and still stinking it's necessary to have your phone out for the biggest portion of the lap to film a shaky vertical video. It's all good though. Nice lap and nice owner.
Oil temp, water temp, gearbox temp. A larger Oil cooler with fan switch. The other two are very stable. Not often you see that.
Oil never got above 121 degrees so it doesn't need additinal cooling

Definitely a fast car. Faster than I imagined the way it just sailed round the ring like that.
Misha's expression says everything about the car. I had this gen CLA45 tuned to 425hp and it was just very boring. In the end it was sitting more in the garage while I was enjoying my Mini R53 and I sold it after 8 months of owning.

Hey misha, absolutely love your channel. I always recommend your channel to every car guy I know. Just asking, is there any way we could enjoy these videos in 60fps? I think it would be truly an experience to watch the rides in the buttery smooth framerate if possible.

GoPros tend to overheat pretty quickly at 60fps in my experience.
Impression cooling performance, especially considering how much heat a 400+ hp 4 cylinder creates.
The ECU regulates the power lower to keep the temperatures in check. This does not have 440hp. Nowhere near. My 260hp car is faster than this...
@@GreatMotors not sure what makes you think it doesn't deliver 440hp. This is a very heavy limousine and not a sports car - it is obviously heavy af.
@@Squee7e I know the track quite well and I know what speeds I get to in certain areas of the track. The cars that I drive have 261hp, 385hp and 410hp. This car is closer to the performance of my 261hp car than that of the other two.
@@Squee7e I can give you a few examples. Speed with which the car passes under the bridge right at the start. Speed with which it arrives to Schwedenkreuz. Speed at the bottom of Foxhole. Etc etc

yeah its very heavy. Its the exact same drivetrain as the a45. its basically an enlarged a45

One of my favorite thing to look out for in these videos when people start recording a bunch is when they try to hold the phone steady and end up making a cross over and over like they're exorcising a demon in a movie, ahaha.

The 440hp pulls like my 270hp 2011 VW CC, it sounds like a stock CLA45 with racechip.
I bought a 250 4 matic new in 2015 and it's been a love/hate relationchip till october last year when i finally got rid of it. 2 rear diffs (first one by 95000km and the second one started to go wrong at about 175000km) and the final straw was that the top of the engine broke...
Modern Mercedes built quality coupled with high hp/liter, I actually wonder that it went good for so long. My a35 spent literally more time at the dealers garage than on the street.
I drive an A45 with 381 hp. This is not faster! I doubt it's 440 hp!
It's not. Even the 380hp stock engine will get saturated on track quite easy... this car was pulling boost, timing, and what not for sure.
Only car that is still missing on this channel is the Lancia Delta Integrale EVO2

Based on that gauge, the temps stayed flat the entire lap.

They're a bit of work to keep, but the block can handle up to 56 PSI of boost (114 inHg) which, in a perfect world is 560 HP just from boost. The biggest thing is a transmission tune on this car, and having an anti-surge or a sensitive blow-off. The backpressure causes tons of turbo lag. Insane car!

It’s 2014 model so 355bhp would make more sense as it doesn’t go like 440 should 🙂

The first generation of AMG 45 have a different gear ratio from 3 to 4 gear than the 2’nd generation, that’s why it’s slower.

Remarkably smooth and uneventful (not sure on the gearbox temp towards the end) but it doesn't look very engaging to drive. But pretty much all AMG cars except the GT(-R) are more about numbers and looks than track performance. However, I understand it... these things are not meant to be driven at 10/10s and scare you like a Mk II Focus RS, but I can't see any reason why you want to get exactly one of these except you have a long relationship with your Mercedes dealer.
I had imagined something more under the A45 AMG so I find the car honestly a bit boring there is no goose bumps over there I find my BMW M2 much better :-) just from the sound so Mischa if you want to drive it sometime please contact me :-)

This car must have had 440hp on the coldest of winter days, with exemplary atmospheric pressure, and for the 15s the dyno pull lasted. In this video ? No way in hell.
375hp is a stock hp for this car. I have a gla45 and it's the same I checked. The owner and homie misha where wrong haha I wish stock 440
@@AUS_AMGI believe that the idea is that it was tuned to 440hp. I had a W176 facelift with this exact engine. After a lap on the Nordschleife the stock 380hp were no longer there either.

I really don't get why people take their phones out to record what will be the worst ever footage of a lap when the whole thing is being recorded on several HD fixed cameras 🤣
I think the phones are not really used to record, it's more for a quick tiktok, instagram story etc.
People want their own footage and memories of events. Imagine if Misha's recordings (or one of them) got corrupted, somehow... important footage would be gone.

its a well sorted car, other cars couldnt get out of the way quick enough, that megane driver on the first corner way over cooked it!

If I'm not mistaken, the circuit was absolutely jammed with traffic that day - you literally had to line up for 30-45 minutes to get into the circuit itself. On top of that, accidents within the circuit made things even worse. Frustrating day for everyone there.

Awesome driving there man, yasis the cla 45 is a drinker, almost 1/4 tank of fuel gone in 8mins
I own one by myself and can agree. It consumes 15L/100KM… which is quite much for an 2L 4Cyl… at the fuelstation multiple times a week 😅

@@TRDKhanbrothers for my Defence. I drive 70% of the time in town, but also mostly in comfort mode. You can definitely drive the car with 11-12L but that takes away the fun ☺️

When you make an appointment, you never know who that person is, how he gonna behave, if the car you about to drive is in good shape/condition... Remarkable driving as usual but the car was just meeehhh. You drove an M240 before with stage 2 tune and that car was more quick and agile in the track

It's heavy and got to a solid number on shwedenkreutz or whatever that high speed section is, overtook a ton of cars. Looks pretty damn fast to me. The gearing from 3rd to 4th seems a big wonky though. Also, it looks slower than it is because it's so bland :/

Just watched the vid again and it topped at an indicated 226 kph when I would expect it to get close to the 250 mark at that sort of power, especially with a 7 speed dct. Isn't stock power about 380 crank? That would make more sense than 440 for sure...

@@UCh5Y7Xd0i3UUWRpAjFs Great comparison. I see they're close in weight. So this is WAY off the mark :/ I think people need to test drive comparable cars when they get quoted tuned numbers. Everyone is so caught up in numbers but they have no clue what it should mean on the road. I remember being 1 or 4 people in a 300HP Mitsu Evo5 many years back and it got to the 180 kph factory limiter very quickly. Of course it had the close ratio 5 speed manual box and top speed was probably about 230 without limiter but it still gives great perspective.
Such a boring and stable car in all forms. No overheats or quirks. It plain works. It's Mercedes.

Well they are also getting critique for their car. When I was on Smoking Tire I felt like I had to interact to try to help the guy make an episode. Like normally if you want to get input ike this, int he US at least, you are at a $250 track day with an instructor and you ask the instructor what should you do to improve your car after the ride along. This guy is charging nothing and the passenger gets some internet fame if he wants and free input for the price of Misha having content. @@thearousedeunuch

Also, I highly doubt this car has 400HP. The acceleration is too slow for a 1500kg 400HP car. I'd say it's stock 350hp.
